Chapter 208 - 193: The Fearsome Baron Vili
Chapter 208: Chapter 193: The Fearsome Baron Vili
"Justice!"
Benduin jolted, waking from a disorienting dream.
"Where are the enemies?"
Benduin looked at Colson, who was standing right before him, and asked in confusion.
"I’ve already dealt with all of them..."
Colson rubbed the tip of his nose.
"You dealt with them?"
Benduin immediately sat up, staring at Colson in astonishment.
’Isn’t Colson a One-Engraving Silence? How could he have taken care of so many enemies?’
Still in disbelief, Benduin stood up and scanned his surroundings. He saw that a dozen or so enemy ships were now flying the flag of White Bear Town.
"Are you already a Two-Engraving Silence?"
Benduin stared at Colson. "No, that’s not right. A Two-Engraving Silence shouldn’t have this kind of ability, right? Don’t tell me you’re... a Three-Engraving Silence!?"
Colson waved his hand dismissively. "This isn’t the time to worry about my strength. Go and watch that guy. He should be the leader of this Pirate Gang."
With that, Colson pointed to Budar, who was still unconscious in the distance.
In truth, Colson didn’t recognize Budar, nor did he know of the Tusk Pirate Gang. They had attacked the pirates simply because they were the first large Pirate Gang to enter the waters of White Bear Town.
For this reason, they had been patrolling the area for nearly ten days.
As for how they were able to single out Budar and identify his status, the reason was simple.
Because Budar was the only Middle Knight.
Even if he wasn’t the leader of the Pirate Gang, he was certainly a chieftain.
"I’ve already given him the anesthetic improved by the Lord Baron. Even when he regains consciousness, it’ll be three days before he can use his Fighting Spirit."
Colson continued, "Go and stand guard over him. Prevent him from doing anything drastic when he wakes up. I’ll go wake up a few of the others. I want to extract some intel on this Pirate Gang before we return to White Bear Town."
On the open sea, nearly twenty large ships sailed at high speed. In just two or three hours, they reached the waters of White Bear Town.
...
"Where is this..."
When Budar woke up, he found himself in a dim and damp prison cell.
His heart lurched as he suddenly recalled the scene just before he lost consciousness.
A fleet flying a bear’s-head flag had attacked them, and a Junior Mage had boarded their ship. Before he could even resist, he had lost consciousness in a wave of disorienting sound.
’So... I’ve been captured...’
Thinking of this, Budar suddenly realized the gravity of the situation.
He tried to activate his Fighting Spirit, but his body felt incredibly weak. He couldn’t summon even a single trace of it.
A bitter smile appeared on Budar’s face.
’I had planned to establish a foothold in the waters near Dawei Province of the Lanton Duchy. Instead, I was captured alive the moment I arrived.’
’Are the naval forces of Dawei Province really this formidable...?’
After some comparison, Budar suddenly realized that the naval power here seemed even more formidable than that of the Sosen Duchy.
’A bear’s-head flag...’
Budar thought for a moment, but he still couldn’t figure out into whose hands he had fallen.
He knew very little about the situation in Dawei Province.
’Am I going to die here...?’
Budar looked at the cramped cell, a sudden sense of desolation washing over him.
He had always known that a pirate’s life was a dangerous one, but facing the consequences was still difficult to accept.
In the hands of these nobles, even a quick, clean death was a luxury.
However, this wasn’t what made Budar despair the most. His greatest worry was for his family.
Unlike most Pirate Leaders, Budar was devoted and responsible. He had a wife and children; if not for his identity as a pirate, they could have been considered a happy family.
Thinking of this, Budar suddenly felt the urge to cry.
’Barring any surprises, my family will likely walk the executioner’s block right alongside me.’
"Awake?"
Just as he was sinking into grief, Budar suddenly heard the sound of approaching footsteps, and then someone spoke.
He looked up, the sorrow in his eyes vanishing, replaced by wariness.
Budar recognized the newcomer at a glance. It was the Extraordinary Strongman who had been the first to board his ship.
"Since you’re awake, come out. The Lord Baron has been waiting for you for a long time."
Benduin ordered the Guards behind him to open the cell door.
"Baron?"
Budar seized upon the key word.
His eyes widened in shock.
’The Lord behind such a powerful naval force and with Transcendents under his command is only a Baron!?’
’At first, I thought I’d fallen into the hands of some Powerful Viscount.’
’After all, I can take on a typical Baron’s Domain head-on.’
"Get a move on!"
Temporarily deprived of his Fighting Spirit Power, Budar was grabbed by the back of his collar by Benduin and dragged straight out of the cell.
Two Guards stepped forward, taking Budar from Benduin. They restrained him tightly and marched him outside.
Budar had no strength to resist. He was blindfolded and had no idea where he was being taken.
"Lord Baron, we’ve brought Budar."
Benduin led Budar into a spacious room and addressed the person inside.
Hearing his name spoken, Budar’s heart sank once more.
’Just as I thought. My subordinates have already been interrogated. They know everything about me.’
