Seeing their fathers in danger, the cubs grew anxious. They quickly threw the Bubble Fruits in their hands downward, hoping to kill some of the wild beasts and help their fathers break through the encirclement.

Qiao Xixi didn’t dare delay for a single second. Her hands rapidly formed a hand seal.

“Gale, rise!”

A fierce gale slammed into the attacking Vulture Beasts. Qiao Xixi had no time to look down; she could only quickly fly away with the cubs.

The wind carried them at an incredible speed. After flying for an unknown amount of time, she only stopped when she could no longer see the Vulture Beasts behind them. She brought the cubs down, landing steadily on the ground.

“Qiao Lie, are you all okay?”

The cubs shook their heads, their eyes red as they tried their best to hold back their tears. Qiao Xixi knew they were worried about their fathers.

“Don’t be afraid. They’ll be fine.”

She clenched her fists, calling out to Little Demon several times in her mind, but received no response. She wondered if the enemy had interfered with the system.

“Mother, where are we going now?”

Qiao Xixi looked around. They had landed in a forest, but aside from the trees, there was nowhere to hide.

“There’s a mountain ahead. Let’s go up there first.”

“Okay.”

Qiao Xixi formed another hand seal and carried the cubs up the mountain. Although the vegetation on this side wasn’t as dense, it could still serve as cover. She found a cave entrance and had the cubs hide inside first.

“I’ll check the situation outside. Don’t run around in the cave, understand?”

The cubs nodded obediently. “Mother, you must be careful.”

Qiao Xixi hummed in agreement. She took a Vine Orchid from her spatial domain and planted it in front of the entrance. As the vines grew, the cave opening was quickly concealed by a tangled web of foliage.

Once she was certain that nothing inside could be seen from the outside, Qiao Xixi didn’t rush off. Instead, she opened her location tracker. To her surprise, all the location markers on the map had disappeared.

Qiao Xixi’s expression changed slightly. As expected, the enemy had tampered with it. She suspected that the entity was definitely hiding in Elephant Beast City. However, with the enemy holding the overt advantage while she was forced into hiding, her position was incredibly passive. She had to find a way to lure it out.

Qiao Xixi circled the cave to check for any surrounding dangers. She had to ensure the cubs’ safety.

Stepping on the vegetation, she didn’t notice anything unusual. Just as she was about to head back, a faint rustling noise came from ahead. She paused, staring warily at the undergrowth.

The rustling grew louder until a round mass suddenly leaped out. Before Qiao Xixi could throw the Bubble Fruit in her hand, she got a clear look at the thing.

It was completely round with a face like a peach and large, circular eyes. Its body was a soft, tender pink, and it had tiny limbs. No matter how she looked at it, she couldn’t tell what kind of species it was. It didn’t look like a beastman at all. Instead, it looked like a… sentient… mushroom?

The moment the creature saw Qiao Xixi, its round eyes lit up.

“Host!”

Qiao Xixi was speechless.

“Host, it really is you!” The creature exclaimed, running toward her.

Just as it tried to jump onto her, Qiao Xixi instinctively took a step back, quickly putting some distance between them.

“Ah!”

Unable to brake in time, the creature face-planted into the dirt.

“Are… are you Little Demon?”

Little Demon groaned as it climbed to its feet, glaring at Qiao Xixi accusingly. “Yes, Host! Could you really not recognize my voice?”

Qiao Xixi’s eye twitched. She recognized it just fine; she simply didn’t want to admit it.

“You look a little… disgusting.”

Its body was covered in a sticky, slimy liquid, making it look incredibly slippery.

Little Demon shot her a resentful glance. “Host, this is just my host body. The situation was urgent, so I just found a random thing to possess. You’ll just have to put up with it.”

Qiao Xixi took out a piece of animal skin and wrapped it around the system, at least to prevent the slime from getting on her.

“What on earth is going on? Hurry up and tell me.”

Little Demon sat on Qiao Xixi’s shoulder and let out a heavy sigh before quickly perking up.

“This is my fault. Back when we destroyed Huang Ying’s system, I should have immediately tracked down the location of its Main Brain and eliminated it as well. If I had destroyed it then, none of this would have happened.”

“So, that thing really is the one behind all this.”

“Exactly. Just now, I actually managed to uncover its plan. It wants to correct the plotline and force the story of this world to follow its predetermined path.”

“Then it will definitely target Jin Ling and the others.”

“Yes, Host. It will capture Sunxiao and the rest, lure the cubs over, and personally execute the fathers right in front of them. Then, it will have Elephant Beast City conquer the other Beast Cities to become the Beast King. That way, when the cubs grow up, they will spare no effort in turning completely evil and massacring the cities!”

Qiao Xixi clenched her fists. “I previously thought that the key to breaking this deadlock might lie with the cubs, but until now, I haven’t been able to come up with a more concrete plan.”

“Host, you’re right. The cubs are indeed the key. The Main Brain’s energy primarily comes from the plot integrity of this minor world. If there’s a major change in the plot, its energy will be weakened. I suspect its energy has already been significantly depleted; otherwise, it wouldn’t have intervened personally.”

It intervened personally to resolve the issue quickly, no longer having the time to let other systems bind new hosts to complete tasks.

“What happens if its energy is completely depleted?”

“It will self-destruct and be destroyed. This minor world will no longer be controlled by them and can develop naturally according to the free will of its inhabitants.”

Qiao Xixi’s eyes lit up. “In other words, as long as we continuously drain its energy, it will self-destruct.”

“Exactly. I detected earlier that it doesn’t have much energy left. As long as we stop it every time it expends energy to push the plot forward, its power will be steadily weakened.”

“That also means that until the cubs turn evil, Sunxiao and the others won’t be in any mortal danger.”

After all, the Main Brain’s logic dictated that the cubs had to witness their fathers’ tragic deaths with their own eyes. Therefore, before that scene could play out, Sunxiao and the others couldn’t die.

“Right.”

Having confirmed that Sunxiao and the others were in no immediate danger, Qiao Xixi could finally focus on her next step with peace of mind.

“I understand. I’ll take the cubs to Elephant Beast City right away.”

“Host, have you already figured out a way to drain its energy?”

Qiao Xixi nodded. “Before, I only knew that the cubs would turn evil according to the plot, but I didn’t know exactly *how* it would happen. Now that I understand, things will be much easier to handle.”

“Host, I believe in you! You can definitely defeat it!”

Qiao Xixi’s gaze hardened. No matter what, they had to win!
