Chapter 206: The Final Mission And The Reward.

Neve did not remember exactly how he had managed to convince Aldric to shift to his full bear size and lay on the bed.

It took some coaxing and a lot of reassurance, but eventually the shy bear beastman had agreed.

Neve was worried about the bed at first. A massive bear laying on a foam bed seemed like it might break or damage the furniture. But then he remembered that the bed was a gift from the system. The system gifts never broke or ripped. They were somehow designed to withstand anything.

Aldric’s bear form was big. His body was warm and his fur was incredibly soft.

Neve carefully climbed onto Aldric’s body and curled up against the bear’s warm body. The fur cushioned him perfectly.

For the first time in days, Neve felt completely relaxed. He fell asleep quickly.

Suddenly, Neve opened his eyes.

He was in a familiar black room. The room with the expensive looking viewers on the walls. The room where people watched him from another world. The control room.

But this felt like a dream. Yet it felt so real. Too real.

Neve frowned, clenching his fists.

"Why was I brought here again?" Neve yelled out into the empty room. "Why am I here? I do not understand!"

He yelled and yelled, his voice echoing off the walls. His frustration was building up inside him like a volcano ready to explode.

Suddenly, a voice without a body called his name.

"Neve," the voice said calmly.

Neve froze. He took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down.

"Why am I here?" Neve asked, his voice more calm now. "What is happening?"

"You are here because you are going to be given a final mission," the voice explained.

Neve’s eyes widened.

"Final mission?" Neve asked, confused. "What the hell do you mean by that? I still have so much to do. I have not even given birth to my first cub yet. How can I have a final mission when I am still in the middle of everything?"

"It is a final mission," the voice repeated simply.

Neve looked around the black room, trying to see if he could locate any of the viewers. But the room was empty except for the screens on the walls.

"Where are the viewers?" Neve asked. "Are they here? Are they watching?"

"The viewers are not aware of this," the voice said. "This conversation is hidden from them. If you complete this final mission successfully, you will be able to return to your past. You will be able to return to the best time of your life. Not just you, but everyone with you in that world."

Neve’s eyes went wide. His chest began to pound.

"Return to my past?" Neve asked breathlessly. "At the best time of my life?"

The voice seemed to pause.

"Yes," the voice confirmed.

Neve wanted to laugh. The best time of his life? He had never had a best time. His childhood was rough. His adolescence was difficult. His early adulthood was even worse.

All he wanted was to wake up from this nightmare. All he wanted was to be free from all of this control and manipulation.

"Why are the viewers not aware of this?" Neve asked.

"Because they are not interested in the mission itself," the voice explained. "They are interested in what you do. Specifically, the intimate moments. The sexual scenes. They are watching other people in other worlds who are having plenty of intimate moments with their mates. You have nine mates already, and they were expecting much more content from you. But since you are pregnant and unable to provide that, they have shifted their attention elsewhere."

Neve felt a mix of emotions. Anger at being watched. Disgust at being used for entertainment. But also relief that they were not focused on him anymore.

"I cannot do anything while I am pregnant," Neve said firmly. "You cannot expect me to perform intimate acts when I am carrying cubs."

The voice seemed to pause again, as if considering something.

"Did I ask you to do anything too intimate?" the voice asked.

Neve froze.

The realization hit him like a wave.

He really did not have to do something too intimate to show a sexual act.

An idea began to form in Neve’s mind. A dangerous idea.

Neve smirked.

"I know just what to do," Neve said, his voice filled with confidence.

The voice seemed to emit something like approval.

"Then good luck, Neve," the voice said. "But take this final mission seriously. This is important. It’ll appear to you very soon."

The black room began to fade.

Neve suddenly woke up.

He was laying on top of Aldric’s massive bear body. The bear was still sleeping soundly, his breathing deep and even. His fur rose and fell with each breath.

Neve had to carefully climb down Aldric’s body so he would not wake him up. He moved slowly, placing his hands and feet with care.

When his feet finally touched the stone floor, Neve took a deep breath.

The cave was empty. Everyone was still asleep in their respective spaces.

He sighed.

"What do I do now?"

His mind was racing after the conversation with the voice. He wanted to get his hands busy. He wanted to distract himself from thinking about everything that had happened. Especially after what he had gone through with that host.

He walked to the kitchen area and sat down, his mind spinning with thoughts and plans.

Suddenly, the system dinged loudly.

Notifications began to appear in the air around him.

[MISSION COMPLETE: Find All Ten Mates]

[All Ten Mates Found And Bonded Successfully]

[Reward Package Ready For Claiming]

Neve looked at the letter notification but did not click it. He did not care what the system had to say. He had heard enough from the hosts and the system. What he cared about was the reward.

His reward for completing such a monumental task.

His reward for finding with all ten mates... well, nine, despite all the challenges and heartbreak.

A large glowing box appeared in front of him on the ground. It was ornate and beautiful.

Neve stood up from where he was sitting. His heart was racing with excitement and anticipation.

"Let us find out what my rewards are! So excited!"
