I'm Already the Richest Man, Why Did My System Just Arrive?
Chapter 410 - 219: Foreign Language
Chapter 410: Chapter 219: Foreign Language
In the Zheng Residence, Master Zheng was always the center of attention. No exceptions.
When Feng Bei pushed Master Zheng out to sunbathe in a wheelchair made by Yan Jiji, many pairs of eyes, both seen and unseen, began to watch them furtively.
Whistles echoed one after another, and rumors flew thick and fast.
"When are you going to teach me your Brotherhood’s secret signals?"
Zheng Xiu had been quiet for a while. Listening to the whistles that rose and fell across the courtyard, Feng Bei couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off about them. A little vexed, she pinched the soft flesh of his waist as she asked.
Her face blushing, Feng Bei even began to worry about what kind of "reward" she should give him if he had the gall to ask for one again.
’Maybe... hold his hand?’
’Would he be satisfied with that?’
Feng Bei pouted.
It was true that during their ten years in Richan Valley, inside the World in the Painting, Feng Bei had tried just about everything. But back then, she was living as Xie Luohe and thought nothing of it. Now, back in reality, every time she recalled her wild abandon in the valley, her face would burn and her ears would tingle... It had been far too bold.
That’s just how this man was—he wouldn’t act without a guaranteed reward. Being the Richest Person had certainly spoiled him with some nasty habits.
As she continued to pinch him, Feng Bei sighed softly. To this day, she still couldn’t adapt to her new identity and new circumstances.
Both she and Zheng Xiu needed time.
In the wheelchair, Zheng Xiu’s face suddenly contorted in pain.
"OW!"
"Ow, fuck!"
"Getting full of yourself, are you?"
Master Zheng suddenly started cursing. One moment he was filled with rage, the next he was grimacing as if he’d been soundly thrashed, his whole body trembling like a leaf.
Feng Bei froze, snatching her hand back as if shocked. ’I didn’t pinch him that hard, did I?’
"Meow."
Little Feng Miao appeared out of nowhere, leaping down from the roof with a meow.
Feng Bei glanced back.
The woman and the cat stared at each other.
Looking at Little Feng Miao, Feng Bei suddenly found she couldn’t tell if this was the cat she had given Zheng Xiu all those years ago, or the one they had raised for ten years in the World in the Painting.
They looked so alike.
’But why did they look so similar?’
Feng Bei frowned. Little Feng Miao, however, merely gave a lazy yawn, planted its front paws, and raised its rear high in the air. Its fur bristled, and it gave a little shiver.
Zheng Xiu fell quiet, drenched in a hot sweat.
"Hooo..."
He opened his eyes and wiped the sweat from his brow, a lingering fear in his expression. But it was quickly replaced by an irrepressible excitement in the depths of his gaze.
"What happened to you?"
Feng Bei stopped paying attention to the Little Feng Miao that looked so much like Little Feng Miao. Noticing Zheng Xiu’s strange state, she asked in a low voice.
"I’ve comprehended a new Miracle Technique. I’ll show it to you when I have a moment."
Zheng Xiu held nothing back from Feng Bei; there was even a hint of showmanship in his tone.
’He was quite curious what kind of expression his little wifey would make when he transformed into the muscular ’Dan Demon’ in their room and brandished his ’giant cannon’.’
"Comprehended... a Miracle Technique?"
As expected, Feng Bei was surprised. "You just took a nap?" she asked, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. "That Path of yours..."
During those ten years, Zheng Xiu had already told her that the Path he truly walked was [Prisoner]. He was a born [Prisoner].
Feng Bei’s voice trailed off, but she didn’t continue.
It was a secret between them. Feng Bei knew that aside from her, no one else in the Zheng Residence knew what Path Zheng Xiu truly walked. So she said no more, simply nodding and using her sleeve to wipe the sweat from his brow.
"Oh, right. Was Little Feng Miao just here?"
"Yes..." Feng Bei was about to point nearby, but when she looked up, Little Feng Miao had vanished. "It was here a moment ago," she replied, puzzled.
"No wonder. I vaguely remember hearing a meow," Zheng Xiu said, not paying it much mind. He shifted in his wheelchair and suddenly put on a pained expression. "I’m soaked in sweat. It’s clammy and uncomfortable. I’ll catch a cold easily."
"Then you should go change right away."
Feng Bei replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
Zheng Xiu lowered his head, feigning a thoughtful expression. "But I haven’t recovered yet, so it’s hard for me to move... Ah, Feng, you just rest. I’ll see if Zizi, Bobo, Pingping, or Lily are free to help me bathe and change."
Behind a distant flower bush, a hidden, graceful figure immediately perked up her ears.
Upon hearing this, Feng Bei’s eyes narrowed in alarm. She let out a soft huff. "Hm?"
Zheng Xiu laughed and huffed back, "Hm?"
Feng Bei: "Hm? Hm?"
Zheng Xiu: "Hm? Hm? Hm?"
Feng Bei was defeated yet again. "That won’t be necessary," she huffed, pushing Zheng Xiu back toward his room.
"But... this isn’t right, is it? After all, the you outside the painting is still... *cough cough*... an innocent maiden. This is improper." Zheng Xiu feigned reluctance, his words dripping with mock concern for the reputation and chastity of the "innocent maiden" Feng Bei.
’Tsk. An innocent maiden with ten years of marital experience.’
’Quite a thrilling thought, actually.’
Feng Bei gritted her teeth and hissed in a low voice, "It’s fine!"
BAM!
Feng Bei slammed the door shut, making the very tiles on the roof rattle.
Now that Zheng Xiu had returned to his status as the Richest Person, everything had to be done with a certain flair.
Preparing the tub, boiling the water, setting up the screen, bringing fresh clothes—the whole procedure was carried out. Soon, the entire Zheng Residence, from the masters to the servants, knew that Feng Bei was helping Zheng Xiu bathe and change.
When Second Lady heard about it, she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "Why has the Master become so ostentatious after recovering from his illness?" she muttered under her breath.
She didn’t know what Zheng Xiu had gone through on the outside, nor what he and Feng Bei had experienced together. She certainly didn’t know that the passage of a hundred years—the equivalent of living an entire lifetime—could completely change a person’s disposition.
Zheng Xiu’s transformation was baffling to her, but then she thought about his current status and decided it was only normal. ’What master isn’t a philanderer?’ she thought. ’If anything, the Master was too righteous before.’
In the room, mist filled the air and steam billowed.
Zheng Xiu soaked in the warm water, feeling every pore in his body open up. It was pure bliss.
With a sullen expression, Feng Bei scrubbed Zheng Xiu’s back, a little too forcefully. Remembering the commotion from earlier, she kept her face stern. "You did that on purpose, didn’t you?"
