Chapter 563: Chapter 274: An Appointment at the Third Watch (Part 3)
Zheng Xiu sat cross-legged, waiting until the third watch of the night.
The moon hung high in the sky.
A figure appeared, silhouetted against the bright moon, descending as gracefully as a celestial maiden.
Zheng Xiu looked up. He saw Feng Bei dressed in a magnificent, light-green gown with long, flowing sleeves. She wore just a touch of makeup. Compared to her usual murderous attire, she presented a completely different sight.
Feng Bei drifted to the ground, her face slightly flushed, a rare smile gracing her lips. "I’ve come."
As she spoke, Feng Bei fiddled with the hem of her dress through her long sleeves. She had never dressed this way before and felt a little awkward.
"No time to waste!" Zheng Xiu rose to his feet, his gaze sharpening as he walked toward Feng Bei. "Be careful, Madam! I’m about to show you my new move!"
Feng Bei was stunned.
’Be careful? Careful of what?’
’What new move?’
’Isn’t this just a challenge to a duel in the wilderness?’
’He’s getting right to it?’
Feng Bei stared blankly.
"Full Moon!"
Zheng Xiu whipped out his brush, bit his finger open, and using the blood as ink, cast Drawing Prison.
A cage of crimson light enveloped them both. Zheng Xiu had used the Path of the Painter to trigger the Prisoner. The next second, he sensed the Prisoner connection form. Having already given his warning, he decisively initiated the Projection.
In the Heart Prison, a black figure’s eyes glowed with a terrifying crimson light as a black vortex opened like a doorway.
A dark mist surged out from behind Zheng Xiu. Unlike his usual Projections, this time he felt an intense pain. The mist behind him reached for him like tentacles, wrapping around him in an instant and cladding him like Armor.
"Zheng Xiu?"
It didn’t take long for Feng Bei to realize she had misunderstood Zheng Xiu’s intentions, and she was secretly annoyed and angry. But before she could lash out, the transformation happening to Zheng Xiu made her gaze harden. Thorn-like patterns began to creep across her skin as she silently removed her gloves and asked softly.
She wasn’t sure if the "creature" emerging from the black mist was truly Zheng Xiu.
The tattered, jet-black garment it wore was full of holes. Like a creature straight from some abyssal battlefield, its eyes were completely red. In the darkness, they glowed like two red lanterns, their light overpowering the moonlight. As the "monster" emerged, the faint scent of blood began to fill the crimson prison.
Zheng Xiu, however, had fallen into a strange state. His vision was a sea of red; he couldn’t even see Feng Bei’s face clearly. A buzzing filled his head, a cacophony of voices he couldn’t understand. A restless urge surged within him. He opened his mouth to say something, but the pain of pulling stitches only made the red in his vision deeper. The stimulus of pain transformed into pure exhilaration, and a low, hoarse roar, "Hhhh... hhhh... hhhh..." escaped the monster’s throat.
"Hhhh..."
"Hhhh..."
The tall, slender figure stood quietly under the moon, its back slightly hunched and its hands dangling in front of it. Even Feng Bei felt an inexplicable chill looking at its bizarre posture.
"Zheng Xiu?"
Feng Bei frowned and decisively tore off her cumbersome, flowing sleeves. RIIIIP! The outfit had been meticulously made by Xi’er, and its thin sleeves were designed to be torn. The sound was particularly satisfying.
She had actually planned on letting Zheng Xiu do the tearing. She never imagined she’d be ripping them off herself just to move more freely. Such is the irony of fate. A true pity.
Feng Bei had just pulled off her gloves when a whistling sound cut through the air.
CLANG!
A heavy chain slammed into Feng Bei’s head, sending her flying into the bars of the crimson cage.
Feng Bei flipped back to her feet, bright red blood trickling down her forehead. The monster Zheng Xiu had become showed no mercy, reappearing at her side without warning, its shackles swinging.
Not daring to use her hands, Feng Bei kicked out. To her astonishment, her leg passed right through the monster’s body as if it were nothing but air.
Her vision blurred. The monster teleported to her side, grabbed her by the leg, and silently flung her through the air.
In the blink of an eye, the monster was completely overwhelming Feng Bei. Their fight grew faster and faster until the very mountain began to shake.
Zheng Xiu’s vision grew redder and redder, turning into a sea of blood.
"Had enough?"
After who knows how long, Feng Bei’s expression suddenly shifted. As the monster attacked, Phase Walking, she flipped onto its shoulders, locking her legs tightly around its neck. A jet-black Curved Bow was now in her hands, a black Arrow nocked and aimed at the monster’s eye at point-blank range.
"Keep this up, and ’we’ are going to get angry."
Her voice seemed to be a mix of two distinct tones. She spat a mouthful of bloody saliva to the side and grinned.
