Chapter 936: Chapter 935: Extra 9: Camping 2

She’s become more and more fluent in calling him “brother,” making Cheng Zhirang’s ears itch.

Mu Qiu excitedly took out the disposable gloves, disposable bowls and chopsticks, and a few large pancakes.

First, she put on the disposable gloves and folded the pancakes into squares, making it easier to grab the food with one hand and bite into the pancake with the other. As she was folding, Cheng Zhirang had already taken the cover off the tomato hotpot, and the rich aroma wafted out. He stirred the food with chopsticks and then took out two sausages from his own bag, slicing them with a small knife and tossing them into the self-heating hotpot.

This hotpot didn’t have any meat, so they had to make do.

Once everything was ready, they took out two small folding stools, sat down, and were ready to eat.

Mu Qiu handed him a folded pancake, holding one pancake with one hand while reaching for a slice of bamboo shoot with the other to eat. Cheng Zhirang happened to grab a piece of sausage and fed it to her.

“Mm~~ Delicious!”

She enjoyed it so much that she tilted her head back and let out a playful howl to the sky.

Going out was so exciting that she felt like a little child.

Cheng Zhirang also grabbed some sausage to eat, chewing on the pancake. Watching her joyful face made him feel so happy that he couldn’t help but keep smiling.

The place where they set up their tent was relatively flat, and the surrounding area was uneven, so there were no other tents nearby. Even though they were squatting by the tent eating, without looking up much, no one had recognized them yet.

Mu Qiu took off her scarf, but she kept her hat on obediently, with her hair hidden inside, making her neck look bare.

Mu Qiu pulled up her semi-turtleneck sweater a bit and focused on picking up more food.

Honestly, this self-heating hotpot with only vegetables couldn’t compare to the hotpot they usually had, and the pancake was a bit cold and hard. But in this place, these foods tasted ten times better, especially as she described them.

“This seaweed knot is so delicious, sob sob, the bamboo shoots are still crispy, and there are bean sprouts and potatoes!”

“The tomato broth is also delicious, sour and sweet with a hint of spice. If I mixed it with rice, I could eat two bowls!”

“Dipping the sausage in the broth and wrapping it in the pancake is also super tasty!!!”

With just a few simple words, she turned the meal into a mountain feast. Her words lured Cheng Zhirang into trying those foods, scooping the sausage covered in broth into the pancake and taking a big bite.

“Is it good?” she asked with sparkling eyes.

He nodded, his eyes crinkling behind his sunglasses, “It’s good.”

She became even happier, swaying as she sat on the little stool.

“The air is good here; the scenery is great. Just sitting around and eating something simple is a pleasure. How about we do this again tomorrow?”

Cheng Zhirang asked her, “Do you mean come back here? Or should we try somewhere else? I heard there are spots both domestically and abroad that are great for camping and watching the sunrise. Should we give them a try?”

She asked in surprise, “Can we?!”

“We can. We go on trips several times a year, right? We can go wherever you want.”

“That couldn’t be better! I love you, brother~”

Cheng Zhirang glanced at her, his eyes unreadable behind his sunglasses, but Mu Qiu wasn’t afraid at all, happily picking up more food to eat.

“We should have brought some mushroom meat sauce; Li Yang said it’s really good on pancakes.”

“Food that needs to be sealed can’t be brought up here; the air is thin, and items can burst.”

“Oh, right. Then we can only bring these things… wait, doesn’t that mean the breakfast rolls I brought have burst their bags?!”

She rushed into the tent, kneeling at the zipper, opened her backpack, and started rummaging around.

“Ugh—sure enough, they’ve burst out of their bags.”

“It’s okay, I brought…”

Before he could finish, she exclaimed excitedly, “Then we’ll just have to eat them now!”

Cheng Zhirang: “……”

So after finishing a pancake, she consumed the last pieces of sausage from the hotpot, dipped them in the broth, and ate them with the creamy small rolls.

A truly unimaginable combination of flavors.

Cheng Zhirang ate half a pancake more, leaving her favorite dishes for her, then took out a large bag to pack up the trash.

“Eat slowly; I’ve put some water next to you. It’s still warm; have some.”

“No, I’ll drink it tonight or tomorrow morning. I want to see how long this expensive thermos can really keep warm.”

She said while eating, sitting on that little stool with her legs tucked in, looking way too cute. When Cheng Zhirang passed by her again, he couldn’t help but lean down and give her a kiss.

Mu Qiu was puzzled, “What are you doing?”

“You’re too cute.”

“……” Such sudden sweet talk is quite embarrassing.

Under Cheng Zhirang’s guidance, she leisurely finished the dinner, bit by bit watching the sun sink into the water, with sunlight casting specific shadows over the endless mountains.

The sky was half azure and half orange, exceptionally beautiful.

Moved by the scenery, after finishing her meal, Mu Qiu ran back to the spot where she had been taking photos, astonished by the immense natural wonder.

As if the modern work of art transitioned into a succinct ink painting.

“It’s so beautiful, so overwhelming.”

She spoke to Cheng Zhirang, who was fully geared up beside her.

Before Cheng Zhirang could respond, an enthusiastic older woman who had been taking pictures nearby for a long time laughed heartily and began chatting with them.

“Is it your first time here? This isn’t even the most overwhelming part. People usually come here for the night sky and sunrise — the Milky Way, starlight, and the sun over snowy peaks, that’s the real spectacle.”

Mu Qiu, with sunglasses and scarf covering half her face, was eager as she asked:

“It’s our first time here. Have you been here many times, sister? What’s the best time to see the starlight at night?”

Her question was common among first-timers, and several nearby people who were done taking photos turned to guide them.

“Tough it out at night. It’s best after midnight, around one a.m., and without any lights, you see a sky full of stars in the darkness.”

“In the morning, you have to get up by five to see the sun casting gold on mountain peaks; it’s truly stunning!”

“Your equipment seems okay. If you’re staying up till one or two in the morning, you’d better wear warmer clothes or even bring some warmers.”

“To see the stars and the sunrise, you won’t get much sleep tonight. You should be prepared, maybe take a nap first.”

Everyone chimed in. Mu Qiu listened attentively, often asking surprised questions, quickly fitting into their group and listening to their stories of past visits here.

Cheng Zhirang didn’t say much, just followed by her side and listened intently.

Though he didn’t speak, his face mostly covered, his height and aura still made some glance his way while speaking.

Cheng Zhirang just stayed close to Mu Qiu, holding her hand without letting go.

As the last traces of orange faded from the sky, he led her back to the tent.
