Chapter 255 - 248: Divine Envoy
Chapter 255: Chapter 248: Divine Envoy
The altar in front of Mo Yunzhen was extremely complex.
The altar wasn’t large, but it was composed of a vast number of intricate inscriptions and several extremely rare, complex arrays.
In the center of the altar lay a naked young man.
By the time Mo Yunzhen received the message, the altar ritual had already begun.
As streams of blood-red light shot skyward, a massive, blood-red array formed above the altar.
The array in the sky and the altar on the ground resonated with each other, quickly forming a unique space.
Within this space, the Laws of the Secret Realm were being subtly altered, and the space itself was quietly transforming.
As Mo Yunzhen and the other leaders of Celestial Eye Black Pupil watched, a minuscule but potent drop of blood, exuding a strange aura, materialized out of thin air within the unique space.
The drop of blood gradually grew larger.
When it grew to the size of a fingertip, the drop of blood slowly descended from the air, landing on the young man on the altar.
TSSS!
A faint hiss echoed.
In an instant, the young man was shrouded in a dense, crimson glow.
An unusual fluctuation of Spiritual Power surged from the young man’s body.
The young man’s original cultivation was at the late stage of the Three Flowers Realm, but now, the fluctuation of his Spiritual Power was astonishingly potent.
Aside from Mo Yunzhen, a Great Cultivator of the Manifestation Realm, the other leaders of Celestial Eye Black Pupil—even those at the late stage of the Dao Fruit Realm—couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming urge to prostrate themselves in worship before this wave of Spiritual Power.
"The Divine Envoy descends! Heaven bless the Divine Sect!"
Unable to restrain themselves, several elders dropped to their knees and cried out.
"The Divine Envoy descends! Heaven bless the Divine Sect!"
As these elders knelt, the other Cultivators of Celestial Eye Black Pupil followed suit, dropping to the ground one after another.
Only Mo Yunzhen remained standing, his eyes narrowed as he watched the Divine Envoy who had descended from the Upper Realm.
Several years ago, a few devout believers of Celestial Eye Black Pupil had received a revelation from a representative of the Divine Spirit. They were instructed to help find a vessel for a Divine Envoy.
They were also taught how to build the altar and conduct the ritual for the Divine Envoy’s descent.
At the appointed time, the Divine Envoy’s incarnation would descend to the realm.
This wasn’t the first time Celestial Eye Black Pupil had received a divine revelation. Their possession of so many divine Secret Realms and vast resources was entirely due to their ability to receive these revelations from the Divine Spirit.
However, the descent of a Divine Envoy was a first in the history of Celestial Eye Black Pupil.
Instantly, the entire Divine Sect mobilized, pouring all of its resources into this endeavor.
Even though the required altar was unprecedentedly complex, they still managed to construct it quickly.
Mo Yunzhen didn’t kneel; he simply watched with narrowed eyes.
As the strongest Sect Leader of Celestial Eye Black Pupil in ten thousand years, no one knew better than Mo Yunzhen what kind of organization Celestial Eye Black Pupil was.
In Mo Yunzhen’s view, Celestial Eye Black Pupil was a deeply contradictory organization.
The doctrine of Celestial Eye Black Pupil was: "To act on Heaven’s behalf and bring salvation to the world."
According to the doctrine, everyone except the believers of the Celestial Eye God was walking down a mistaken path toward destruction.
Only by becoming believers of the Celestial Eye God and ascending to the Upper Realm could they attain salvation.
All who refused to believe in the Celestial Eye God were heretics.
The secret archives of Celestial Eye Black Pupil recorded many events.
According to these records, the Celestial Eye Black Pupil Divine Sect had used the Celestial Eye God’s revelations to locate numerous divine Secret Realms and had relocated vast numbers of the human race into them.
They had also used divine revelations to hasten the end of several wars between the Human and Demon Races, preventing the extinction of humanity, saving countless lives, and accumulating boundless merit.
It was only because the people of the world failed to understand the Divine Sect’s benevolent intentions, deceived by the enemy’s malicious propaganda, that they treated the Sect as a foe.
Without the Divine Sect, both the Human and Demon Races would have been annihilated long ago.
Having reached the Manifestation Realm at such a young age, Mo Yunzhen was no ordinary believer.
He regarded the sect’s many records with a cold, detached perspective.
’After all, in my view, many of the recorded events were simply impossible.’
This was especially true given that, over twenty years ago, the Celestial Eye Black Pupil had actually appeared in the Cultivation Realm.
Yet, of all the Divine Sect’s believers, not a single one had received a divine revelation.
When the other believers heard that the Celestial Eye Black Pupil had appeared, rendering the Nine Great Demon Race Venerables powerless to resist, they all proclaimed the invincibility of the Celestial Eye God.
Only Mo Yunzhen had begun to doubt the organization known as Celestial Eye Black Pupil.
’If the Celestial Eye Black Pupil were truly their Divine Spirit, it’s inconceivable that it would personally descend without granting the Divine Sect a single revelation.’
After all, the Divine Sect had received countless revelations in the past.
The Celestial Eye Black Pupil descended, and then disappeared without a trace.
From start to finish, the Celestial Eye Black Pupil Divine Sect had seemed like complete outsiders.
It wasn’t until more than a decade later that this so-called "representative of the Divine Spirit" announced their intention to descend to this realm.
Although Mo Yunzhen had his doubts, he had no intention of stopping it.
He was curious to see for himself what this "representative of the Divine Spirit" was truly all about.
Under the watchful eyes of Mo Yunzhen and the assembled believers, the ritual at the altar gradually drew to a close.
The light from the array faded, and the anomaly in the sky vanished with it.
The young man on the altar slowly opened his eyes.
He stood up, surveyed his new body, and then gazed down at the crowd of believers below the altar.
"Welcome, Divine Envoy!"
The believers below shouted in unison, their voices filled with reverence.
"You and I both serve the Celestial Eye God. There is no need for such ceremony."
The young man said coolly.
With that, his gaze fell upon the only person in the assembly who had not knelt before him: Mo Yunzhen.
"Are you the Sect Leader of this generation?"
Mo Yunzhen didn’t answer, saying only, "Divine Envoy, this way, please."
He gestured with his hand and led the way.
’This Sect Leader seems difficult to deal with.’
A glint flashed in the young man’s eyes.
But he said no more, simply following Mo Yunzhen into a large hall.
"What is the purpose of your descent, Divine Envoy?"
Only he and the young man were in the hall. Mo Yunzhen wasted no time on pleasantries and asked directly.
"You seem to be doubting my identity?"
A dangerous glint flashed in the young man’s eyes.
"No, the Divine Envoy’s identity is beyond doubt. I simply have urgent matters to attend to and wish to know your objective so that I may assist you in making arrangements as quickly as possible."
Mo Yunzhen glanced at the young man and shook his head.
It was unclear whether the young man believed Mo Yunzhen’s words. After a moment’s thought, he said, "I have descended this time merely to find one person... or, perhaps I should say, two people."
"One is a peerless prodigy of this era, whose talent for Cultivation is unprecedented and beyond compare."
"The other should be like myself, an emissary from the Upper Realm. Even at the Three Flowers Realm, this person would possess all manner of incredible abilities and be exceedingly difficult to kill."
’He came just to find people?’
Mo Yunzhen was taken aback.
"I have never heard of the peerless prodigy you seek."
"As for the second person, I might have a candidate or two in mind."
"However, I’ve already crippled one of them. He may no longer be alive."
Mo Yunzhen said after a moment’s thought.
’Some peerless, unprecedented prodigy? No such person exists in the Cultivation Realm.’
’If anyone came close, I suppose I could barely be considered half of one.’
...
「Meanwhile.」
