Chapter 178: Chapter 152: Zhengran, Why Are They Calling You President Lin?

After the last incident, Wang Lan was now keenly aware of Lin Zhengran’s high status, so she put the meeting on hold.

She told the singers to wait a moment and quickly hurried over.

"President Lin, what brings you here so early? I had no idea you were coming, my apologies..."

Lin Zhengran mused, ’Wang’s attitude toward me has changed so much since last time. She was always nice, but now her words are filled with respect...’

Pan Lin saw Wang Lan’s fearful expression. She’d been a bit panicked herself just a moment ago. If they didn’t give President Lin a proper reception, President Jiang would surely be furious—and not just a little bit.

After all, anyone who was regularly around President Jiang knew that Lin Zhengran and Jiang Jingshi had a special relationship—they weren’t just friends or business partners.

President Jiang even called Lin Zhengran her fiancé on occasion. The nature of their relationship was obvious.

Pan Lin said, "I was planning to go and wait for him at eight, but I didn’t expect President Lin to be here so early. I was busy outside, but as soon as I saw him, I rushed over to greet him."

Lin Zhengran smiled.

"It’s no big deal. Wang, were you in a meeting?"

"Yes, it’s the weekend, isn’t it? We were having a morning meeting. Since we knew you and President Jiang were coming today, we had to clear our schedules."

Amid the conversation, no one seemed to notice Jiang Xueli standing beside Lin Zhengran. In fact, when Wang Lan had rushed over, Jiang Xueli had quickly tried to greet her.

But Wang Lan, in her nervousness, seemed to not have heard her at all, her attention solely on Zhengran.

Moreover, listening to the conversation between Wang and Zhengran, Jiang Xueli couldn’t help but wonder... ’Is Wang’s status actually lower than Zhengran’s?’

’Wang was never this respectful to Zhengran back at the studio, was she?’

Just as this thought crossed her mind, Wang Lan happened to turn and greet her. "Lili, you’re here too. It’s been two weeks."

Jiang Xueli replied, "Morning, Wang. I saw the group chat notice last week that the studio was reorganizing, so I didn’t come by. I had some free time this week, so I thought I’d stop in." She glanced at the singers standing in rows in the distance and asked quietly, "Should I go line up with them? I wasn’t at the meeting."

Wang Lan and Pan Lin both looked toward Lin Zhengran.

With Lin Zhengran present, Wang Lan knew his word came first.

This continued until Lin Zhengran spoke up. "Wang, Lili doesn’t need to be in the meeting, does she? The main reason I’m here today is to discuss other matters with her."

Wang Lan nodded hastily. "Of course. Lili doesn’t need to."

Jiang Xueli murmured an "oh," glancing from Wang Lan to Lin Zhengran, and then to the woman she’d just met, Pan...

’I get the feeling... they’re all taking orders from Zhengran?’

’What in the world is going on?!’

Lin Zhengran said, "Wang, you should go finish your meeting. We can talk business after it’s over, once Jiang gets back."

"Okay. Why don’t you two go rest in the office for a bit? I’ll come find you when I’m done."

Pan Lin added, "Perfect. I can take President Lin to see the new office that’s been prepared for you."

Lin Zhengran nodded, and only then did Wang return to the singers to resume the weekly meeting.

Of course, among the hundred-odd singers, quite a few recognized Lin Zhengran—they were the female artists from Wang Lan’s previous studio.

They even knew he was Lili’s boyfriend; he used to come by often whenever Lili was recording a song.

But now, it felt like his status was completely different. Although no one could hear the trio’s conversation clearly, judging from their body language, Lin Zhengran was clearly not just a simple visitor.

Except for Wang Lan, Pan Lin, and Lin Zhengran himself, practically everyone else was bewildered, their curiosity piqued by this young man.

So, as Lin Zhengran, Jiang Xueli, and Pan Lin headed up to the second floor, Wang Lan addressed the group again, and everyone finally got a rough idea of Lin Zhengran’s identity:

"Did you all see President Lin who was just here? This afternoon, he will be conducting a comprehensive training session for all of you. It’s going to be a long one, so please clear your schedules for the afternoon. I hope you all pay close attention; it will be incredibly beneficial."

Pan Lin opened the door to Lin Zhengran’s office. Lin Zhengran’s expression was calm, but Jiang Xueli, hearing those words from the second-floor landing, froze.

’Zhengran is going to train everyone? Why?’

’This is all so much to take in. What in the world has been going on?’

’How do I not know any of this?!’

Upon entering Lin Zhengran’s private office, she saw the layout was similar to Jiang Jingshi’s, furnished with a sofa, a coffee table, a computer desk, and a filing cabinet.

It was simple but high-end, decorated in essentially the same style as Jiang Jingshi’s office.

The only difference was that some items had been swapped for more masculine versions.

Pan Lin explained, "This is your office here, President Lin, right next to President Jiang’s. The office at the main headquarters is still under renovation. President Jiang said she will personally take you to see it when it’s ready. I can’t speak to the specifics of its layout."

Jiang Xueli, already in a daze, could only think, ’Main headquarters... What’s this about a main headquarters now?’

Pan Lin said, "Well, I’ll go get you some tea, President Lin. You two please rest here for a moment."

With that, she excused herself from the office, gently closing the door behind her.

Finally, Jiang Xueli and Lin Zhengran were alone in the office.

Lin Zhengran surveyed the office layout, then sat at the computer and booted it up. He opened various files and saw that, sure enough, the profiles of all the company’s artists had already been loaded onto the machine.

But before Lin Zhengran could examine them in detail, he suddenly felt a certain goofball grabbing his arm and shaking it.

She was stuttering and trembling, her mind a tangled mess as she spoke:

"Zhen-Zhen-Zhen-Zhen... Zhengran! Zhengran! What is going on?! You have to tell me everything! What in the world has happened?!"
