Chapter 1442: Chapter 562: Sending Red Envelopes, Renting a New Car! Master Actually Got Married? Congratulations!

"Meow~~~~~"

Dundun stood in front of the spot where Shu Yun usually sat, patting its paws.

As Song Tiantian was sorting through member information, she smiled and asked:

"Looking for your godmother? She went home for the New Year, she’ll be back in a few days... Oh, she bought several little toys for you, go ahead and play with them."

A few days ago, when Shu Yun was idle and browsing short videos, she randomly came across some unique cat self-entertaining balls that roll around and light up when activated, perfect for cats to chase and play with, so she ordered a few.

When passing the shift to Song Tiantian, the delivery arrived, and she entrusted the newly-returned-from-visiting-her-boyfriend heroine to hand them to Dundun.

It’s New Year, naturally, she had to buy new toys for her godson.

Dundun didn’t expect to not be in Beijing yet still receive new toys, softly meowed, and nuzzled the self-entertaining ball that was slightly larger than a ping pong ball.

Obviously, the little creature was very happy.

Lin Xu and Shen Jiayue ran up and down the floors, giving out red envelopes to everyone.

Then they drove to the company, and distributed starter red envelopes to employees who were back at work today but hadn’t adjusted yet.

After handing out these, the couple arrived at Dou Wenjing’s office:

"How about your parents? Have they left?"

Dou Wenjing was sorting documents, and upon seeing the boss and boss lady enter, she quickly stood up, poured water while saying:

"They left on the sixth, stayed a week in Beijing, ran around all the places to play in the city except Badaling, and kept praising our restaurant’s food as delicious, worried they wouldn’t get used to their home-cooked meals."

Talking about her parents, Dou Wenjing’s face naturally showed a touch of warmth and affection.

On the sixth, her usually reticent father not only took out the thousands sent with Yang Lin back home but also handed over another hundred thousand.

As parents, although they were reluctant for their daughter to settle in the big city, they still tried their best to support her with their savings.

Kept advising Dou Wenjing to take care in Beijing, and not to worry about home.

Dou Wenjing’s parents grow potatoes back home on leased land, the income is decent, their only worry in the past was their daughter not marrying, causing distress.

But this time visiting Beijing, they saw that their daughter’s life is far from boring, but rather quite exciting, with food, drinks, and friends, and the boss being so good, they just let her be.

The daughter graduated from university, whether it’s culture or knowledge, she’s superior to this rural old farmer.

So it’s fine either way, as long as the daughter is happy, she can live well without getting married.

Conversely, in the village, those young folks who are married with kids are plagued by mother-in-law and daughter-in-law fights or competing to not take care of the kids, causing turmoil daily.

If the daughter were to experience such, it would’ve been more troubling.

Shen Jiayue took the jasmine tea handed by Dou Wenjing, and with a smile said:

"Wenjing, have you been quite happy these past few days?"

Dou Wenjing nodded:

"My father, who’s shy of expressing emotions, particularly bought candy haw for me and mom while strolling in Gui Street, and even took several selfies to flaunt back in the village."

Lin Xu sipped tea, pulled out a big red envelope from his bag, and handed it to Dou Wenjing:

"Happy New Year, Wenjing, this is your New Year’s red envelope."

During the holiday season, Dou Wenjing voluntarily stayed to handle the store business, letting Lin Xu go home for the New Year with peace of mind, a New Year’s red envelope was certainly merited.

Dou Wenjing felt the thickness of the envelope, initially assumed it was ten thousand, thanked the boss, and put it in the drawer.

But once Lin Xu and Shen Jiayue left for the independently housed Ziqiang Shengjian office area, she took it out to find not the usual red bills, but dark green ones.

The large Franklin’s face on the bills made Dou Wenjing immediately realize.

This... is US Dollar?

Dou Wenjing never thought her New Year’s red envelope would be this big, she took her phone and messaged Shen Jiayue:

"Yueyue, I just found out it’s US Dollar inside, isn’t this red envelope too big?"

She didn’t contact Lin Xu directly, but Shen Jiayue instead, making it seem like private chat between girlfriends, just in case there was a mix-up with the red envelope, leaving room to maneuver.

Shen Jiayue quickly replied:

"Not too big at all, in the New Year, happiness is key. Try your best this year, see if you can get the company to apply for household registration quota, if there is, we’ll give it to you, perhaps by the end of this year you’ll be a Beijing resident."

Having local registration allows housing purchase, bringing parents over to live.

Without Beijing registration, can only continue renting.

Though the mortgage pressure is substantial, Dou Wenjing’s current compensation already alleviates such worries, her salary and equity dividends can easily cover a small apartment.

"Thank you, boss, thank you, boss lady!"

Originally planning to enjoy a leisurely cup of tea while working, Dou Wenjing switched to more invigorating coffee with the allure of a US Dollar red envelope and household registration quota.

Sitting at the computer, she began drafting the work plan for the first half.

Meanwhile, Lin Xu arrived at the Ziqiang Shengjian office area, took a walk but didn’t see Sister Yuanyuan, curiously asked a clerk:

"Where’s your manager Chen?"

"Manager Chen went to inspect the stores."

"When will she be back? Not sure, she also checked a few new venues to possibly lease for renovation, we’re unclear on her return time."
