I'm the Only Magus in This Witch World

Chapter 244: The Birth of the First Magus Set (Part 2)

Renna gave Magna a doubtful look as he stood in front of her with his arms spread, waiting for her to test the robe’s durability.

It no longer looked like armor. It was just a comfortable-looking, flashy robe made of cloth. How durable could it really be?

Still, he seemed confident enough. She activated her Bloodline Trait, letting flames rise from her hands.

"I know this won’t hurt you, but don’t blame me if I burn or tear your new clothes."

With that warning, she threw a solid punch at his chest.

BANG!

The moment her burning fist struck the fabric, the sound of a punch hitting metal rang through the tent.

Renna paused. She had expected the soft cloth to give beneath her fist, yet it felt as though she had struck a metal plate.

"How is that possible?"

She examined the place she had hit. There wasn’t a burn or a tear. Despite the flames and the force of her punch, the fabric showed no damage at all.

Magna laughed. "Try again. Don’t hold back."

He was just as curious about how much the armor could withstand in its new form as a robe.

This time, Renna activated her Bloodline Trait further, flames spreading across her entire body.

She drew her fist back, taking a proper stance before striking the same spot.

An even louder metallic bang filled the tent.

The punch slid Magna’s feet back a few centimeters. Yet when they checked the robe, it was still undamaged.

"It really is the same armor..."

The flames around Renna’s body died down as she finally accepted what she was seeing.

Whatever Magna had done went beyond artifact crafting. He had taken an existing artifact and remade it into something else without losing its original effects.

That alone was revolutionary. He had casually created a new material Renna had never seen or heard of in any realm.

Cloth with the durability of Grak Steel was an incredible material that would sell for an unimaginably high price anywhere.

"I told you. All the materials still have their original properties. I just changed the physical form of the Grak Steel and other materials while keeping their durability values in the code."

Renna stared at him as he explained. He made it sound like a perfectly ordinary thing to do.

Magna, however, wasn’t finished yet. Now that he had confirmed the robe still worked as armor, he took it off and held it out to her.

"Can you hold this for me a moment?"

After handing it over, he turned back to the box. The metal helmet, boots, and arm guards were still inside, waiting for the same treatment.

He picked up the boots first and placed them where he could see them clearly before casting the spell.

"Preserve all defensive properties and enchantments. Convert the outer shell into flexible leather. Use soft fabric for the inner lining."

His words acted like a voice command in a developer console, making green text spread across the boots. Their hard metal surfaces gradually softened, taking on the fine texture of dark leather.

"Fit the shafts closely around the calves. Add flexible sections at the ankles. Keep the soles firm."

The bulky shape narrowed into a pair of tall boots. Their rigid joints disappeared, leaving soft creases around the ankles so he could move his feet freely.

Once he was satisfied with their shape, Magna adjusted their appearance to match the robe.

"Darken the leather to reddish black. Keep the raised trim along the front and upper edges."

The color deepened until it was almost black, with a dark red tint where the light touched it. Thin strips of trim followed the front of each boot, rising into a pointed shape just below the knee.

They would sit neatly beneath the robe’s long panels without catching on the fabric when he moved.

Since the boots were much smaller than the chest and lower armor, the changes only cost him 8% mana. Satisfied with that, he set them aside and moved on to the arm guards.

"Keep the protective outer layer. Make the underside flexible and line the interior with soft fabric."

Under the green light, the bulky edges drew inward, following the shape of the forearms more closely.

He kept a firmer section along the outside of each arm, giving it the same dark leather surface as the boots. The inner sections softened so they wouldn’t restrict his wrists.

"Taper the wrist openings. Match the color to the robe. Align the glowing lines along the outer edges."

The guards turned a deep crimson. Thin orange-red lines traced their edges, meeting in narrow points toward the wrists like small streams of magma running through the dark material.

Worn over the fitted sleeves, they would complete the look without making his arms seem bulky.

That took another 7%, leaving him with 46% mana.

With the boots and arm guards finished, Magna finally turned his attention to the metal helmet.

"Now, this will be my signature design," he murmured with a smile.

He cast the spell again. Green light covered the helmet, words circling its surface as he began giving commands.

"Preserve the material’s defensive properties and enchantments. Convert the shell into firm, flexible fabric."

The metal lost its hard shine. Its dark red surface became woven cloth, thick enough to hold its shape.

"Remove the face covering. Widen the opening and extend the lower edge into a broad brim."

The front of the helmet drew upward, opening the space that had protected the face. Around its base, fabric spread outward into a wide brim.

"Raise the crown into a tapered point. Curve the tip slightly backward."

The rounded top stretched upward, narrowing into a tall point that bent gently toward the back.

Magna tilted his head as he studied the shape. It was getting close to what he wanted, but the brim still needed adjusting.

"Lower the front of the brim slightly. Curve the sides upward."

The front dipped enough to shade his eyes while the sides lifted in a shallow curve. Its edges remained firm, though the fabric between them had the slight folds of a real hat.

He glanced at the robe in Renna’s hands before adding the details that would bring the design together.

"Match the robe’s color. Add a dark band around the base of the crown. Position the glowing lines along the brim."

The fabric settled into the same deep crimson as the robe. A nearly black band wrapped around the crown, while a thin magma-like line spread along the brim’s edge. Smaller branches climbed the fabric near the band, glowing faintly against the dark red weave.

Magna stopped to look over the result.

The broad brim, curved point, and dark red fabric were exactly what he had been imagining. He pictured it above the robe’s high collar, with the glowing lines running through the design of every piece.

It finally looked like a complete set.

He reached for the hat with a satisfied smile. His first set of Magus clothes in this world was ready.

At least, its appearance was.

He didn’t put it on yet. So far, he had only changed the Shadow armor’s design, leaving its defenses and boosts as they were.

Those wouldn’t help him much against the Desolation. If he wanted more than a new outfit, he still had work to do.

"Come on. Let’s put everything on the table."

Holding the hat, he walked toward the large table in the middle of the tent.

Renna followed with the robe in her hands. She was still stunned by what she had seen, but his words made her wonder what else he was planning.

Soon, they had laid out all the pieces... the hat, robe, arm guards, and boots.

Magna paused to study them, giving himself time to picture the changes he wanted to make next.

Once he had a clear idea, he raised his hand toward the hat. He would start with that.

Green light flowed from his finger as he cast the spell again.
