Immortal Martial Emperor
Chapter 663: He Is My Master
Cat Girl Miaomiao changed into a holy long robe.
The robe fit her perfectly, her delicate figure looking as if it had been exquisitely carved by the heavens themselves, and her features were utterly intoxicating.
The sight of the fluffy ears hidden within her long blue hair twitching slightly was especially heart-stirring.
But the moment she was dressed, she let out a soft “MEOW,” leaped joyfully into Hong Yu’s arms, wrapped her hands around his neck, and wound her legs around his waist in an incredibly intimate position.
Hong Yu’s face was a picture of misery. “Miaomiao, we can’t keep doing this. Can you please get down?”
“MEOW… Master, you don’t want Miaomiao anymore, do you?”
Cat Girl Miaomiao blinked pitifully, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears.
Hong Yu scratched his head, running his hands through his hair in frustration. “No, of course not!”
“MEOW… I knew Master was the best!”
And then.
The Saintess rested her head on Hong Yu’s shoulder, nuzzled against him, and fell asleep.
Hong Yu was speechless. “…”
Because Hong Yu had spoken up to stop Miaomiao, saving all of their lives.
So, the Cat Girl Warriors’ attitude toward him was actually quite good. Seeing his miserable expression, they couldn’t help but let out soft chuckles.
“Prince Consort, please come with us!”
A dozen or so Cat Maidens bowed in unison, their chests rippling like waves in an eye-catching display.
Hong Yu rolled his eyes wordlessly and followed them.
It was only after leaving the valley that Hong Yu learned from the Cat Girl Warriors that this place was the Forbidden Land of the Spirit Cat Race. Every Saintess was brought here after birth to be nurtured on the Ancestral Spirit Altar. She would only leave the altar after coming of age at eighteen.
It was hard to say whether Hong Yu was unlucky or just had absurdly good luck.
By sheer coincidence, he had used a Teleportation Talisman and ended up here.
Then, by a strange twist of fate, Miaomiao had swallowed his blood, acknowledged him as her master, and become his Cat Girl maid.
With a grim expression the entire way, Hong Yu arrived at the Spirit Cat Tribe under the escort of the Cat Girl Warriors.
Although the Spirit Cat Tribe was the lowest-ranking of the Eight Great Battle Clans, neither the other War Race clans nor the Four Great Divine Cities would ever attack the Spirit Cat Race.
This was because the Spirit Cat Race rarely interfered in the power struggles between various factions.
Furthermore…
The Spirit Cat Race had numerous members joined by marriage to the other Seven Great War Clans and the Divine Cities.
As a result, very few factions would dare to make trouble for the Spirit Cat Race.
Today was the eighteenth birthday of their new Saintess, Miaomiao. Consequently, all the major powers had sent their most talented young men to the Spirit Cat Tribe to propose marriage. While it was true that the Saintesses of the Spirit Cat Tribe were all peerless beauties, the more important reason was to win over the Spirit Cat Race.
After all, while the Spirit Cat Race was composed entirely of women, their effectiveness on the battlefield was among the most exceptional of the Eight Great Battle Clans!
「In the great hall.」
The current leader of the Spirit Cat Tribe, Spirit Cat Queen Mao Mei’Er, was dressed in an elegant gown, looking graceful and noble. Her ears were a stunning gold, like those of a golden-furred cat.
Her enchanting features could make any man who looked upon her instantly dazed.
Her every gesture carried an allure that could stir a fire in a man’s loins.
Mao Mei’Er gave an elegant smile. “Gentlemen, no need to be so tense. Our Saintess will be out shortly. Whoever can capture her heart will naturally become her husband!”
“Her Majesty the Queen, how exactly does one go about capturing the Saintess’s heart?” someone asked.
The speaker was a towering, burly man, three and a half meters tall.
He sat there like a great bear, powerful torrents of energy rising from him, his blood surging with palpable power. He was an expert from the Holy Bear Tribe.
Across from him, a young expert with a golden character for “King” tattooed on his forehead sneered, “What’s your hurry, you big oaf? You don’t actually think the Saintess will fall for you, do you?”
“Hmph! I’m the most handsome heir to the Clan Leader the Holy Bear Tribe has seen in eight hundred years! Why wouldn’t I be worthy of the Saintess?” the expert from the Holy Bear Tribe, whose name was Bear Tao, said gruffly.
The young man who had just spoken was Tiger Wei, the Young Clan Leader of the Holy Tiger Tribe, and his power was also immense.
Tiger Wei scoffed, then declared arrogantly, “I am the greatest genius the Holy Tiger Tribe has seen in a thousand years. Moreover, among the Eight Great Battle Clans, our Holy Tiger Tribe has the closest relationship with the Spirit Cat Race. Our ancestors were sworn brothers, you know. I am obviously the most suitable candidate for the Saintess!”
“You two idiots. The Saintess is a peerless beauty. You think you’re worthy of competing for her, looking like that?”
The one who spoke this time was a young, fair-faced human expert named Chen Tao, his body radiating a jagged golden light. He was from the North and South Divine City, and he was a Divine King!
“This is business between us of the War Race! What the hell does it have to do with a human like you?”
“We’re just bickering to build camaraderie! Who the hell are you? I don’t remember being friends with you!”
Bear Tao and Tiger Wei suddenly presented a united front, roaring in anger.
Chen Tao’s expression darkened. “You’re courting death!”
“I ain’t afraid of you! If you wanna fight, let’s go!”
“If you want a fight, I, Tiger Wei, will be the first to oblige!”
Tensions between the three factions instantly reached a boiling point.
Just as a fight was about to erupt, the Queen, Mao Mei’Er, who had been sitting silently on her throne with a faint smile, knitted her delicate brows. A peculiar light flickered in her amber eyes. “Gentlemen, please calm yourselves. We’ve just received word that the Saintess has arrived at the gates!”
“The Saintess is here?”
“Then hurry up and let her in!”
“That’s my wife! Don’t none of you even think about competing with me!”
The crowd of experts all roared, their gazes fixed on the entrance.
But very quickly…
They were left dumbfounded.
Every one of them stared wide-eyed, their jaws hanging open wide enough to fit a watermelon, utterly stupefied by the sight at the doorway.
A figure had indeed appeared at the entrance to the great hall.
However, it was not the long-awaited Saintess of the Spirit Cat Race, but a young human man.
The young man’s features were utterly unremarkable—the kind of face you’d forget the moment you saw it in a crowd. This was, of course, Hong Yu, his appearance altered by the Han Yuqianyan.
He braced himself and stepped into the hall, immediately feeling countless gazes converge on him. He couldn’t help but touch his nose with a wry smile.
“Fuck, get out of the way, kid! We want to see the Saintess, not some dude!”
“That’s right! Clear the path! If you get in my wife’s way, I’ll slap you to death!”
Bear Tao and Tiger Wei waved their hands dismissively.
The wry smile on Hong Yu’s face only grew. He scratched his head and said awkwardly, “If the Saintess you’re talking about is Miaomiao, then I’m not blocking her way.” He then pointed to the girl clinging to him. “She’s right here!”
“Huh?”
“What the hell? What’s going on here?”
“Oh my god, I know who he is! He must be the nanny in charge of the Saintess’s daily needs!”
“That’s not right, when are nannies ever male? He must be a ‘milk-father’!”
Hong Yu’s eye twitched. He felt like dying from grief and indignation. “…”
‘Milk-father?’
‘Milk your grandpa’s ass!’
Of course, there were also more perceptive individuals who frowned, beginning to ponder Hong Yu’s true identity.
They had never heard of the Spirit Cat Tribe’s Saintess having a “milk-father” or a wet nurse!
A shadow passed over Chen Tao’s eyes as he stared coldly at Hong Yu. “Who are you? Why is the Saintess in your arms? Tell the truth, or This One will annihilate you where you stand!”
Hong Yu frowned.
He had been trying everything to get away from Miaomiao, which was why he’d decided to come here in the first place. He was already prepared to be challenged and questioned.
‘But I didn’t expect someone to threaten to kill me before I even got through the door!’
His stubborn temper flared. He glared back fiercely and said coldly, “Who the hell I am is none of your damn business.”
“Such audacity! You’re courting death!”
Chen Tao was burning with rage. A cold glint flashed in his eyes as he slapped the table and straightened up, ready to strike.
Hong Yu was completely unafraid, his aura surging as he faced him down.
He had already recognized the clothes Chen Tao was wearing. This man, just like the Snake King, was from the North and South Divine City, one of the Four Great Divine Cities!
‘Even though I killed the Snake King, my grudge with the North and South Divine City is far from over!’
The tension between the two was palpable, their powerful auras clashing in the air.
It seemed a fight was about to break out.
But the Queen, Mao Mei’Er, still seated on her throne, spoke in a gentle voice, “Why must you two be so angry? You are all here today to ask for my daughter’s hand, are you not? Give me some face. How about you each take a step back?”
“Fine. This One will give Her Majesty the Queen that much face!”
Chen Tao’s expression was conflicted, but when he recalled the rumors about Mao Mei’Er’s methods, he immediately nodded.
Hong Yu glanced at Mao Mei’Er.
He found that Mao Mei’Er was looking right back at him. Gazing into those amber eyes, Hong Yu’s heart shuddered.
They were a pair of uncanny eyes, as if they could see through everything. Standing before her, he felt as if he had been stripped naked, allowing her to scrutinize his bare self, every secret and trump card laid bare.
This feeling of being completely seen through made Hong Yu frown in disgust, and he subtly lowered his head.
Mao Mei’Er’s amber eyes flickered, a thoughtful expression appearing in them. Then, the corners of her lips curved into a mysterious smile, and her gentle voice echoed in the hall. “Little one, what should I call you?”
“This junior is Beichen. Greetings, Senior Queen!” Hong Yu said respectfully.
Mao Mei’Er nodded, her smile utterly enchanting. It was the kind of smile that could bewitch nations, and all the experts who saw it were momentarily lost in a daze.
It was as if another glance would make them unable to resist rushing forward to kneel at her feet.
Mao Mei’Er chuckled. “Someone, bring a seat for Beichen!”
“Yes, Your Majesty!”
A Cat Girl Warrior immediately brought over a chair.
However, his seat was placed at the very back, near the entrance. This made the other experts sit up a little straighter, their faces filled with disdain and mockery.
Judging by the seat Mao Mei’Er had arranged for him, Her Majesty the Queen did not think much of Hong Yu at all.
Bear Tao blinked and said gruffly, “Her Majesty the Queen, I’m not happy. Why does this fella sitting in the back get to carry the Saintess?”
“Yeah, who does he think he is? How can he be allowed to defile the Saintess’s purity?”
“I strongly demand that he put the Saintess down!”
The crowd roared in outrage.
Mao Mei’Er showed no anger at all. Instead, she smiled and said, “Miaomiao, with so many people here, aren’t you going to come sit at the front?”
“MEOW?”
Saintess Miaomiao blinked her drowsy eyes, glanced at Mao Mei’Er, and then her face lit up with joy. “Mother, what are you doing here?”
Mao Mei’Er looked helpless. “You silly girl, you don’t even know where your own mother is? Hurry and come sit at the front!”
“MEOW?”
Miaomiao looked around, said, “Oh,” and then took Hong Yu’s hand, leading him toward the seats at the very front.
This thoroughly enraged the crowd.
Chen Tao’s face turned livid. He shot forward with an Arrow Step, blocking Hong Yu’s path. “Who the hell do you think you are?” he said coldly. “That’s the Saintess’s seat! Get the hell away from it, or I swear I’ll destroy you!”
“Yeah! What right does a moron like you have to sit at the front?”
The crowd was seething with indignation.
Hong Yu touched his nose with a wry smile. ‘I really don’t want to get involved in this!’
But just as the crowd was trying to force Hong Yu back to his seat, Miaomiao turned around. Her clear, cold gaze swept over them, and her crisp, beautiful voice rang out, “He’s my master! Why isn’t he qualified to sit at the front? MEOW… If that’s the case, then I’ll just go sit in the back with him!”
Watching Miaomiao about to pull Hong Yu back to the seats at the rear, everyone…
was utterly, completely dumbfounded!
