Immortal of the Nine Realms
Chapter 1890: I Want to Chat with Your Sister for a Moment
Whether it was the divine ability cultivators of the God Race or those of the Vajra Race, who among them could not see at this point that Fang Chen's methods far surpassed Yan Li's? Even though he had only just advanced to seventh transformation, he was already at the absolute peak among his peers in the seventh transformation realm.
Some seventh-transformation God Race cultivators secretly compared themselves to Fang Chen and ultimately concluded they weren't his match either.
Yan Li muttered softly to himself, "So this is what a severed hand feels like... It really does hurt a bit..."
Just as Fang Chen was preparing to deliver another strike with his sword, Yan Haoran waved his hand dismissively. "Yan Li concedes. He still has a long way to go. According to our prior agreement, we are willing to cede a path and allow them to migrate."
"Father, I can actually still fight..." Yan Li looked toward Yan Haoran, his eyes deadly serious. "I haven't even made a move just now. It was passive defense the entire time. If I take the initiative—"
"Then you can try," interrupted Fang Chen.
A flicker of pleasant surprise flashed in Yan Li's eyes. Before Yan Haoran could speak, his figure transformed into a bolt of lightning and vanished from the spot.
In less than the blink of an eye, he materialized right in front of Fang Chen and threw a punch with his left hand at Fang Chen's cheek.
Lang Daochun gasped slightly in surprise. "Why isn't he dodging?!"
Yan Li was clearly a unique existence within the Vajra Race. The sheer power of his physical body was likely not inferior to a peer of the Gold Essence Race, one of the Twelve Top Races, or even the absolute top tier among them. In the Divine Realm, even the God Race did not possess absolute confidence that they could confront the Gold Essence Race with raw physical power alone!
After a momentary flash of surprise, the eyes of Half Saint Du and Yan Haoran suddenly turned incredibly solemn.
Seeing his fist make solid contact with Fang Chen's cheek, Yan Li's grinned wildly.
"It connected!"
He had gone all out just now!
However, the very instant that terrifying force collided with Fang Chen's cheek, it recoiled back upon Yan Li, multiplied several times over!
Crack!
The divine ability cultivators had expected to hear the sound of Fang Chen's neck snapping, but to their utter surprise, the fracturing sound actually resonated from Yan Li's left arm.
They watched as the bone of his left forearm tore directly through his flesh, exposing the bone shimmering with a golden glow to the open air. It was a highly grotesque sight.
Before this massive recoil could even subside, the exposed bone of Yan Li's left arm shot straight out like a projectile, sinking into the earth and vanishing without a trace. Deprived of its bone, his forearm went completely limp and floppy.
Not only that, but his entire silver-white physical form began to resemble a shattering mirror, webbed with one hairline fracture after another. Silver-white blood oozed from his nostrils, eyes, ears, and the corners of his mouth.
Yan Li's eyes went completely hollow, and he collapsed straight backward onto the ground, staring blankly up at the sky.
Dead?
The Vajra Race cultivators were stunned. They hastily swept their divine senses to gauge Yan Li's physical condition, only breathing a sigh of relief when they detected a lingering thread of vitality. Following that, they all turned their gazes toward Fang Chen, their eyes filled with the look of someone staring at a complete monster.
"Is this guy really from the Human Race?!"
"He didn't even use any techniques just now. Relying solely on his raw physical power, he reduced Yan Li to such a state? In the end, is he from the Vajra Race, or are we?!"
At the same time, the God Race cultivators were equally awestruck by this display. They began to suspect deep down whether some hidden secret existed within the lineage of the Human Race. If not, how could a divine ability cultivator originating from a weak race possess such miraculous and divine methods?
Yan Haoran cast a deep, lingering look at Fang Chen before opening his Inner Domain and ordering his men to carry Yan Li inside.
Yan Haoran cupped his hands. "Half Saint Du, I shall take my leave first."
He then led the remaining Vajra Race cultivators into the Inner Domain, vanishing from sight.
A few God Race cultivators let out long sighs, but a sudden wave of stifling humiliation washed over them, leaving them feeling thoroughly wretched inside. Once upon a time, the supreme and lofty God Race had actually been pushed to such a pathetic state by a weak group? Within the Divine Realm, the Vajra Race didn't even rank among the top one thousand!
Lang Daochun looked at Fang Chen solemnly, cupping his hands in a formal bow. "Brother Fang, thank you."
Fang Chen smiled, returning the gesture. "No need to be polite."
He then glanced at Lang Yu'er. "I want to chat with your sister for a moment."
"..."
Lang Daochun gave Fang Chen a rather strange look. "Different races cannot reproduce together."
"I know," Fang Chen stated.
Without further ado, he walked straight up to Lang Yu'er. "Can I have word in private?"
Lang Yu'er was slightly startled. "With me?"
She gave Lang Daochun a strange look, but seeing her brother nod, she finally walked off to the side with Fang Chen.
"Half Saint Du, we owe the Human Race a debt of gratitude this time," said Lang Daochun softly as he stepped up to Half Saint Du's side.
Half Saint Du's expression shifted slightly. "We owe the Human Race, and not that young friend specifically?"
Lang Daochun said, a glimmer of hope rising in his eyes. "Yes. He knows full well that our God Race will not have a Saint born within a million years, yet he is still gambling on our race's destiny. This proves that the Human Race believes our God Race can still make a comeback."
"Make a comeback..." Half Saint Du muttered softly to himself.
His eyes seemed to redden slightly for a moment before he offered a wry smile. "It will be very difficult. Our God Race crossed a line this time, and the Supreme Qingming Alliance is watching us from above. There is virtually no possibility of rising again. Right now, our only hope is to head beyond the Divine Realm, find a peaceful place to lie low quietly, and seek out that single thread of opportunity."
A look of bewilderment surfaced in Lang Daochun's eyes. "Half Saint Du, even you believe that? Is it really that difficult for our God Race to make a comeback?"
In truth, for a younger generation of the God Race like himself, he still hadn't fully grasped the root cause of the calamity their race had encountered.
Half Saint Du said, "We will worry about the future when the time comes. Once we reach the designated location, that person will come to receive us. Fortunately, the Soul Race did not face punishment this time, so our God Race... Can still be considered to have retained a bit of heritage. Once we arrive at a new place, perhaps there will be a new atmosphere."
At that moment, Fang Chen walked over, with Lang Yu'er following closely behind him. "Half Saint Du, Brother Lang, Old Wang and I shall take our leave first."
For some reason, in the eyes of the God Race cultivators, Fang Chen and Lang Yu'er looked rather... well matched.
Lang Daochun was slightly startled. "You're already leaving?"
He subconsciously glanced at Lang Yu'er before nodding. "I'll see you off."
"No need, you all should hurry along your way," Fang Chen chuckled, waving his hand. He then tore through the air alongside Wang Chongsong, departing the area.
Lang Daochun immediately pressed. "Little sister, what did Brother Fang say to you?"
One gaze after another fell upon Lang Yu'er. They wanted to know what secrets this human cultivator had shared with her.
"He didn't really say anything. He just told me to be careful around that human cultivator who was traveling with him, though I have no idea why," remarked Lang Yu'er with a strange expression. "What a truly bizarre person."
Lang Daochun was stunned for a long while, various speculations flashing through his mind. Ultimately, he muttered softly to himself, "Perhaps that person's character isn’t that good?"
