Immortal Sword Master
Chapter 573 - 568: Divine Child of the Other Shore
Chapter 573: Chapter 568: Divine Child of the Other Shore
WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
From different directions, two streaks of light shot across the horizon. From a distance, one could see that one streak was a sturdily built figure, while the other had a graceful form, clearly a woman.
"The prodigies from the Flood Dragon Clan are here. It’s Ao Lie and Ao Fengfeng."
"Counting Ning Jiang, Little Dragon Girl, Gu Huaying, and Lin Jue who went in earlier, that makes six prodigies from the Hidden Dragon List here now. The other half should be arriving soon, right?"
"All the prodigies from the Hidden Dragon List gathering in one place... A sight like this is truly rare."
The surrounding Martial Artists discussed amongst themselves.
"Ning Jiang!"
Hearing their words, Ao Lie couldn’t help but clench his fists, a murderous glint appearing in his eyes. In the battle at the underwater Ancient Ruins, he had suffered a crushing defeat at Ning Jiang’s hands. If he hadn’t activated the life-saving measure left to him by the Flood Dragon King, he would have been killed.
This had always been a thorn in his heart, a painful memory he could never forget.
"I’ve successfully cultivated the Bloodline Evolution Technique and my strength has increased significantly since last time," Ao Lie said, gritting his teeth. "Ning Jiang, if I ever meet you again, I will repay the humiliation you brought me a hundredfold!"
Immediately after, the two of them transformed into beams of light and rushed into the tower.
In the time that followed, a steady stream of Martial Artists entered the Myriad Treasures Exquisite Tower.
However, only a select few drew any real attention, such as the Ten Great Earth Martial Realms and the prodigies of the Hidden Dragon List. Even other young geniuses paled in comparison.
「About an hour later.」
Several young figures rushed over from the distance. The auras of these individuals were all strong, especially one of the women, who emanated a palpable Sword Intent. She was also quite beautiful, causing many of the surrounding Martial Artists to steal a few extra glances.
"Looks like another genius. To comprehend Sword Intent at such a young age."
"Comprehending Sword Intent at her age is impressive, yes, but her foundation is too shallow. I see her Cultivation is only at the Earth Martial Realm Early Stage. She’ll probably only make it to the second or third floor," someone commented.
The woman paid no mind to the surrounding chatter.
"I can’t believe it took me a whole month to get here from the Meteor Sea Region, but at least I made it in time," the woman said. A white-haired figure with a peerless demeanor surfaced in her mind. ’I wonder if he’s here yet?’
If Ning Jiang had been there, he would have recognized this woman as Chu Qingqing!
Although Chu Qingqing and Ning Jiang hadn’t gotten along at first, Ning Jiang would not deny her courage.
Back then, Chu Qingqing had dared to travel to the Six Eastern Provinces alone to temper herself, a testament to her strong-willed personality. This time, she had once again traveled by herself, all the way from the Meteor Sea Region to the Dark Sea Region. The journey was far longer and more perilous than her trip to the Six Eastern Provinces, yet she came without a moment’s hesitation.
Along the way, however, she did meet a few companions.
"Qingqing, let’s go in," one of the men said, his eyes filled with admiration as he looked at Chu Qingqing.
"Alright."
Chu Qingqing nodded, and the group of young people entered in single file.
Not long after them, another heavyweight figure made his entrance.
"Chu Xinghun is here too! He’s the last of the Hidden Dragon List prodigies to arrive. All twelve of them are here now."
"Chu Xinghun... I heard that when he was born, he triggered a celestial phenomenon involving a star, which is why he was named Xinghun. I wonder if it’s true."
BOOM!
As the crowd was talking, a massive thunderclap roared from the distance. Moving at incredible speed, he rushed into the tower in just a few flashes.
"The fastest person among the Ten Great Earth Martial Realms has also arrived."
"All the heavyweights have made their appearance. There’s nothing much left to see now."
"That’s right. Anyone else who shows up now will just be small fry. Nothing interesting."
The crowd’s excitement quickly died down.
But just then, someone cried out in alarm, "Look over there!"
Instantly, all eyes turned in that direction.
A group of figures was striding through the void. They wore uniform black robes and hideous bronze masks. On their clothes, crimson Other Shore Flowers were in full bloom.
"It’s the people from the Other Shore!"
"Right, I almost forgot about the Other Shore. They’re the dominant power in the East Sea now. Even the Chaos Alliance is a notch below them. There’s no way they’d miss a grand event like this."
"Who are they carrying?"
Everyone was utterly shocked by the scene before them.
The members of the Other Shore stood on the outer perimeter. On the inside, there was a circle of people in shackles and manacles. They were carrying a lavish, heavy sedan chair, which was veiled by a thin layer of gauze, allowing a blurry glimpse of a figure seated inside.
"You slaves, carry it steady!"
One of the Other Shore experts held a whip, lashing the sedan bearers from time to time. Each crack of the whip left a deep, bloody welt.
"Those are... people from the Dragon God Celestial Palace!"
The crowd recognized their identities and gasped in shock.
The Dragon God Celestial Palace was once the number one power in the East Sea. For many Martial Artists, joining it was an honor. In the past, Martial Artists from the Dragon God Celestial Palace were respected wherever they went.
But now, they had been reduced to captives, forced to carry a sedan chair for others. This was, without a doubt, an utter humiliation.
"The Other Shore’s methods are truly vicious. Not only did they destroy the Dragon God Celestial Palace, but they’re also trampling on their dignity. This must be more agonizing for them than death itself, right?"
"Keep your voice down. Be careful someone doesn’t overhear you, or you’ll lose your life."
Soon, the sedan chair flew closer.
The crowd scattered, not daring to get close for fear of provoking the people from the Other Shore.
An Other Shore expert stepped forward and reported respectfully, "Reporting to the Divine Child, we have arrived at the Myriad Treasures Exquisite Tower."
"Mm."
The figure inside the sedan chair responded faintly. He slowly stood up, and then a hand reached out. It was as white as jade and utterly flawless, making it impossible to tell if it belonged to a man or a woman.
The hand pulled back the gauze curtain, and a figure stepped out, revealing themselves to the crowd.
It was a bewitchingly handsome man. His features were so beautiful that even women would be jealous. If he were to dress as a woman, he could absolutely pass for the real thing.
What was most striking, however, was the crimson Other Shore Flower mark between his brows.
His eyes were also different from an ordinary person’s; they were pitch-black, with no visible whites.
Just by meeting his gaze, some of the surrounding Martial Artists felt their hearts pound in fear, as if those eyes would devour their very souls.
