Chapter 172 | The Disciple at the Door*
Chapter 172: 172 | The Disciple at the Door*
The steam was still settling.
She lay on the cracked ice, bare and hollowed out, his length still buried deep inside her, the warm glow under her skin pulsing slow and steady. The chamber was quiet. The only sound was their shared, ragged breathing and the faint hiss of the ice slowly melting beneath them.
Then the floor hummed.
Not the deep, tectonic hum of the chamber’s own arrays. Something sharper. Rhythm. *Thud. Thud. Thud.* Heavy boots on stone, fast, close, stopping right outside the sealed doors.
Her eyes snapped open.
The haze of pleasure shattered. In its place: a cold, visceral terror so sharp it felt like a blade behind her ribs. The four-star alchemist, naked on a broken slab, legs locked around a junior’s waist, was one broken door away from the end of everything.
"Master."
A young man’s voice, muffled by stone, tight with something that wasn’t just worry.
Fear. Guilt.
"It’s me. Gu Yan."
The name hit her like a second blow. Her senior disciple, the one who had gone into the Secret Realm for the Pure-Yang Lotus and come back empty-handed. He was back. He was at her door. And he was about to walk in and tell her, to her face, that he had failed.
"The outer arrays are fluctuating." His voice dropped, urgent. "Should I break the seal? Are you—"
"Nngh—"
The sound tore out of her before she could stop it. A thin, high, broken cry, half moan, half terror.
He heard it. His footsteps stopped.
"Master? I heard—"
Lin Tian did not flinch.
His golden eyes, still buried deep inside her, did not flicker with panic. They gleamed, dark and slow, the way a predator gleams when it realizes the trap just got better.
His hand came up. Calloused fingers, firm, closed over her mouth.
"Mmph—!"
She shook her head, frantic, jade-like skin flushing a deep, feverish crimson. Her fingers clawed at his chest, not pushing him away, not even trying. Just *holding*. The same grip she had used at the edge before. The same hold. Except now there was a door between her and survival, and it was not going to hold.
His thumb pressed into the corner of her mouth. Warm. Steady.
"Your walls are gripping me like a vice," he murmured, his breath hot against her ear. "Telling the disciple who failed you to *leave*, while you wrap your legs around my waist."
"Mmph... mmm...!"
"Answer him." He kept his hand over her mouth. His hips did not move. He did not need to. She was already clenching around him, tight, desperate, the heat of her inner walls pressing against him with a hunger that had nothing to do with the poison. "Tell your disciple to go."
She swallowed. The words were stuck in her throat, tangled in the heat of his hand and the deeper, hotter weight of him.
"Tell him."
She pulled his hand off her mouth. Her breath came out in a thin, shaking line.
"I am... perfectly fine, Gu Yan."
Her voice wavered on the second syllable. Just barely. Just enough.
Lin Tian’s smirk curled. He adjusted his angle, slow, and drove deep, grinding his heavy crown against the most sensitive knot deep inside her, the one the Insight Eye had found, the one that still pulsed faintly with the last stubborn seed of rot.
"Nnh—"
She bit her lower lip hard enough to taste copper. The moan died in her throat, crushed, and what came out instead was a thin, high whimper that she immediately swallowed.
"Remember, Elder." His voice dropped to a whisper, low enough that only she could hear it, hot and close. "If your voice trembles again, I go deeper."
Tears pressed into the corners of her eyes. She squeezed them shut.
"I am... perfectly fine," she said again, and this time the voice held. The cold, flat, Matriarchal tone she had worn for decades, the one that had made Inner Sect disciples flinch at a raised eyebrow. "I am meditating. The arrays are merely recalibrating. I will hear your report tomorrow morning. Go."
A long silence on the other side of the door.
"Understood, Master." A beat. "Please... be careful."
The footsteps resumed. Slower now. Fading down the stone corridor, one measured *thud* at a time, until the chamber was quiet again.
The last *thud* died.
And something inside her broke open.
Not pain. Not relief. Something else. Something forbidden, hot, and entirely her own. The sound of her own voice, lying to the disciple she had sent into a dead realm for a single herb, telling him to *go away*, while the junior who had actually retrieved it was buried to the hilt in her core. The image of his retreating boots. The *please be careful* that had sounded, in the end, like a warning.
Her legs tightened around his waist without her permission. Her inner walls fluttered, clenched, wept, and a fresh, heavy flood of slick soaked his length and dripped onto the cracking ice.
"Lin Tian—" Her voice was wrecked. "Lin Tian, I *lied* to him. To Gu Yan. I told him to leave, and he is the one who—"
"I know." He said it softly. Not mocking. Not triumphant. Just... knowing. And somehow that was worse. "I know he failed. I took the Lotus from where his team dropped it."
The words landed like a blade. He had it. He had taken the Lotus from Gu Yan’s abandoned hands, and he had known, all along, standing here, while she lay broken for him.
She sobbed, a broken, shaking sound, and threw her arms around his neck, pulling his chest flush against hers, her face burying in the crook of his shoulder.
The fear was gone.
What was left was a heat so clean and so deep it felt like the first clean fire she had felt in a hundred years.
He resumed, slow, heavy, each stroke a deliberate, grinding pull that sent a new wave of warmth through the corroded pathways of her Dantian. The last stubborn seed of rot pulsed, resisted, and dimmed, a little more with every stroke.
"Mmm... yes... right there..."
Her body shook. The Phantom Burns, quiet since the first purge, hissed and faded, the black steam rising thin from her pores, gone in seconds.
"You’re taking me so well," he whispered, and the words landed softer than the commands ever had.
Her walls clenched around him at the sound.
"Haa... please, don’t stop..."
He pushed deeper.
"Ahhh—!"
"You were the proudest woman on this peak," he said, his hands sliding down to grip her hips, anchoring her. "And now you are here, on your back, with the disciple who failed you still in your ears, and all you can think about is how deep I can go."
"I don’t care— ahh— I don’t *care* anymore—"
He buried himself completely, slow, agonizing, and held.
"Ahhh—!"
"Does it feel good, Elder?"
She made no answer. Her face was buried in his shoulder, her mouth open, her breath coming in short, sharp, helpless pulls. Her fingers were fisted in the back of his robe, pulling him closer, not to keep him from leaving, but because the warmth of his chest against hers was the only solid thing left in the world.
"I can feel you trembling," he said, low, calm, watching the last traces of dark corrosion fade from her spiritual map, thinning, thinning. "I am going to wash every last piece of it out of you."
"Yes... ahh... Lin Tian... fill me... completely..."
He set a steady, deep, relentless pace, and the chamber filled with the sound of their breathing, the wet, heavy slap of their skin, and the faint, slow crack of the profound-ice finally giving way beneath them.
Her inner walls began to flutter, tightening in irregular, frantic pulses.
"Lin Tian— I’m— I’m close—"
"Take it," he said, low. "Take all of it."
"AHHH—!!"
The scream shook the steam. Her eyes rolled back. Her legs locked rigid around his waist. Her inner walls clamped down on him with a crushing, devastating force.
A torrent of deep, blue-silver Yin essence gushed from her core, soaking his thighs, the raw power of a Verdant Flame Physique burning clean for the first time in decades, the green-gold light under her skin blazing bright, then slowly, slowly dimming to a warm, steady glow.
"Hnnn...!"
The ethereal blue interface flickered in the steam.

The root of the Dantian was almost gone. Not all. But almost.
She collapsed backward against the ice, hollowed out, her chest heaving, her limbs trembling with aftershocks. The warm glow under her skin pulsed in time with her heartbeat, slow, steady, alive.
She did not ask him to stop. She did not try to push him away. She simply lay there, bare and wrecked and warm, her mind floating in a paradise of pure relief.
And somewhere in the corridor outside, disciple footsteps stopped.
Paused.
And did not move.
