Chapter 32: Lu Qingluo: Come Spar with Senior Sister!
Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Lu Qingluo: Come Spar with Senior Sister!
The whirlpool transformed from the Inner Acupoint continuously emitted a mysterious power, but Fang Xu now found himself entangled in a dilemma once again.
The *Divination God Treasure* recorded that to break through the Stone Sect and successfully open the Acupoint World, one needed to nurture a "Life Weapon" within the acupoints.
"What can I possibly nurture right now?" he wondered.
Confused, he inadvertently glanced at the stick beside him, which looked like a piece of rotten wood. His eyes instantly lit up.
Lu Zhiyuan had given him this stick. It was quite bizarre. "I wonder if it can be nurtured as a Life Weapon?" he thought.
With this in mind, he immediately picked up the stick in front of him and guided his consciousness toward the whirlpool in his Inner Acupoint. The next moment, a faint suction force suddenly emerged from the Inner Acupoint. Trails of black energy spilled out from the whirlpool, wrapped around the stick, and dragged it inside!
"It worked just like that?!"
Fang Xu stared at the miraculous scene unfolding before him, slightly stunned.
He could clearly feel a faint, almost imperceptible connection between his consciousness and the stick inside his Inner Acupoint. It seemed that with a mere thought, he could take the stick back out.
Intrigued by this wonderful sensation, he immediately decided to test it.
WHOOSH!
With a slight shift of his mind, a surge of pitch-black energy indeed wrapped around the stick as it materialized in his hand!
Then, it disappeared again.
Appearing, disappearing, appearing, and disappearing once more...
Finding it fascinating, Fang Xu played with it continuously, thoroughly enjoying himself.
A long while later.
He stored the stick back into his Inner Acupoint and slowly stood up. The sky outside the window was already glowing with the pale light of dawn. It felt as though this breakthrough hadn’t taken much time at all, but unexpectedly, an entire night had passed.
During his breakthrough, all the Qi Blood Power in his body had been mobilized to bombard that Stone Sect. Now, his internal qi and blood were severely depleted, leaving his legs feeling a bit weak.
After becoming a Martial Disciple, one could absorb the free energy in the air to naturally nurture their qi and blood, but this process was ultimately quite slow.
Opening the door and stepping out, Fang Xu headed to the kitchen. He selected a fifty-pound chunk of Blood Food, washed it thoroughly, lit the stove, and stewed a massive pot of it.
Taking advantage of the downtime, he went to the courtyard to test how much his strength had grown after breaking through to become a Martial Disciple.
Stripping off his shirt, Fang Xu looked at his noticeably more muscular physique and threw a punch!
BANG!
A sonic boom instantly erupted!
The air, compressed by sheer force, formed a shockwave that blasted into an old tree a short distance away, shaking loose a shower of fluttering leaves!
Seeing this, Fang Xu couldn’t contain his immense joy!
He felt that a single punch from him could kill a plow ox!
"Is this a Martial Disciple?" he marveled.
With a slight stir of his mind, the simple wooden stick suddenly appeared in his hand. Fang Xu swung it and violently smashed it down onto a bluestone bench in front of him!
CRASH!
The stone bench instantly splintered into several pieces, sending rubble flying everywhere!
"Not bad!"
Highly satisfied with the destructive power he had unleashed, Fang Xu stored the stick away, planning to head over to Zhiyuan Hall to test himself further after eating the Blood Food.
Zhiyuan Hall had Renshi; that material was the absolute best for testing a Martial Artist’s strength.
After drawing a bucket of well water and taking a quick rinse, the stewing Blood Food in the pot began to emit a mouth-watering aroma. Fang Xu ravenously devoured the meat, eating until his belly bulged, yet he still felt somewhat unsatisfied.
He knew that the Blood Food he had stored was probably too low in quality. The Qi Blood Power contained within the flesh simply couldn’t meet his current requirements, hence the lingering hunger.
"Looks like I’ll have to find a way to get my hands on some top-tier Blood Food from now on," he thought.
Changing into a clean set of clothes, Fang Xu left the house and hurried toward Zhiyuan Hall.
While passing by the town’s Land God Temple on the way, he noticed just how incredibly fast the Wu Family had moved.
The original Land God Temple, which had stood at the end of the street weathering countless years of wind and rain, had been completely leveled. A group of laborers was racing against time to construct a new building on the temple’s former site.
The headless stone statue where Wang Ergou had once hidden his secret stash was cast aside, completely ignored by everyone.
Shaking his head, Fang Xu didn’t approach; instead, he headed straight for Zhiyuan Hall.
In the Martial Arts Arena, Lu Qingluo was still practicing with her spear.
Seeing Fang Xu approach, she doubtfully pulled back her spear stance and said, "Didn’t my father tell you yesterday to focus entirely on your cultivation? You weren’t supposed to come back until you broke through to become a Martial Disciple.
"With you acting so carelessly, how can you be worthy of being the Divine Attendant?"
Despite her scolding, Fang Xu wasn’t angry in the least. He smiled, cupped his hands in greeting, and called her Senior Sister before explaining, "You misunderstand. I’ve already broken through to Martial Disciple. I came today precisely to borrow our master’s Renshi and test my strength."
"You broke through?!" Lu Qingluo’s small mouth dropped open in shock as she scrutinized Fang Xu with disbelief.
Upon closer inspection, she realized that his aura was indeed significantly stronger. The slight fluctuations in his presence were exactly what happened when someone broke through to Martial Disciple, opened their Acupoint Secret Treasure, and couldn’t yet fully control their newfound power.
But that didn’t make sense!
When ordinary Martial Artists broke through to Martial Disciple, they invariably spent three to five days bombarding their acupoint barriers. Furthermore, they would be left in a weakened state for several days following the breakthrough.
Just yesterday, the Fang Xu standing before her hadn’t even fully reached Refining Viscera Perfection. Yet today, he showed up as a fully-fledged Martial Disciple, bursting with energy and vitality!
This...
Could this be the miraculous effect of the Divine Attendant Pill?
The Divine Attendant Pill was one of the most mysterious inheritances of their clan. It was said to be even more ancient than the Bai Ze’s Soul she had received. Lu Qingluo had only heard rumors of the pill’s wondrous effects; she wasn’t entirely clear on its exact functions.
Seeing how rapidly Fang Xu had broken through to the Martial Disciple realm, she became convinced it had to be the work of the Divine Attendant Pill.
"Since you’ve broken through, then come up and give it a try."
The Martial Arts Arena had Renshi, and Lu Qingluo was actually quite curious to see just how strong he was now.
Fang Xu glanced toward the inner courtyard. Seeing that Lu Zhiyuan was nowhere to be found, he simply cupped his hands again and stepped into the Martial Arts Arena.
"For the Martial Disciple realm, merely leaving a mark on the Renshi is considered a passing grade. If you can dent it by half an inch, you are deemed superior. Those who can shatter an inch into it are rated excellent. Go ahead and give it a try."
Hearing this, Fang Xu paused in surprise. "Senior Sister, can I use a weapon?"
Lu Qingluo rolled her eyes at him, looking at him as if he were an idiot. "Your master..."
She was just about to complain about his master when she suddenly remembered that his master was, in fact, her own father. She hurriedly corrected herself, "Renshi is special. Hitting it bare-handed or with a weapon yields the same results. If you want to use a weapon, you can."
Hearing this, Fang Xu pondered for a moment and opted not to use a weapon.
After all, he wasn’t yet proficient with blades, spears, swords, or halberds. They simply weren’t as comfortable to use as his own fists.
Walking slowly up to a heavily scarred piece of Renshi, Fang Xu gently ran his hand over it. This Renshi was truly peculiar. It looked somewhat similar to the Obsidian he had seen in his past life, but its texture was incredibly hard, almost metallic.
THUD!
Calling upon his Qi Blood Power to protect his fist, Fang Xu struck the Renshi using only thirty percent of his strength. To his astonishment, the stone in front of him didn’t even shed a single speck of dust.
Watching from the side, Lu Qingluo couldn’t help but curl her lip. "Stop testing it. You’ll be lucky to even leave a scratch on the Renshi with a full-powered strike."
Embarrassed, Fang Xu scratched his head. He immediately took a step back, channeled fifty percent of his strength, and unleashed a punch directly at the Renshi!
BANG!
A massive explosion of sound erupted!
An indented Fist Seal instantly appeared on the Renshi in front of him, measuring a full half-inch deep!
"Huh?"
Seeing the Fist Seal Fang Xu had left on the Renshi, Lu Qingluo let out an involuntary gasp of surprise. "Half an inch deep... To have this kind of strength right after breaking through, you’re actually quite impressive."
Having said that, she quickly caught herself and added, "However, don’t get arrogant. This little bit of strength still isn’t worthy of a Divine Attendant."
Fang Xu pursed his lips and offered a slight bow to the somewhat haughty Lu Qingluo. "I will keep your teachings in mind, Senior Sister."
"By the way, Senior Sister, where did our master go?" Lu Zhiyuan was not a sociable man and usually spent his days cooped up in Zhiyuan Hall.
"What, you want to show off to my father?" Lu Qingluo curled her lip, wearing an expression that said I-can-see-right-through-you. "I don’t know either. He was gone when I woke up early this morning. He probably went out.
"Don’t be so eager to show off just yet. Come spar with your Senior Sister so you can properly recognize your own limits."
As she spoke, Lu Qingluo flicked her spear, scooping up a Broadsword from the weapon rack and tossing it right in front of Fang Xu.
