Chapter 146: Chapter 99: Set Up a Dharma Platform for a Duel?
"Senior Brother Lu."
The disciples watched the scene, stunned.
As the figure leaped up again and again, the formless light screen barely rippled. Yet, it was enough to tear the Mid-stage Jade Liquid Cultivator’s body apart. Blood gushed from his wounds until he could no longer stand.
They couldn’t quite understand what he was doing.
"Is there something wrong with his head?" The female disciple from the Zhao Family asked, looking toward her senior brother with a puzzled expression.
"He’s trying to cause a commotion to warn that Lin fellow not to get any closer."
With a playful look, Lü Songting flicked his finger. A streak of clear light shot out and struck Lu Yun.
There was a soft sound.
The red-faced Cultivator was instantly bound by the clear light and slammed to the ground like a hog-tied pig.
"Either you crush the Child Stones, or I’ll crush him to death. Make your choice."
"You’d better hope your precious Senior Brother Lin has the guts to show himself before this one breathes his last."
’This little show is amusing, but it’s getting old.’
’He was starting to get bored.’
’If this buffoon hadn’t been spouting nonsense, these Cultivators would have already used their Child Stones to lure that Lin fellow over.’
Lu Yun struggled with all his might, but he could only move his head.
He smashed his forehead against the ground in a rage, drawing blood, but he still couldn’t make a sound.
The clear light cut into his flesh like blades, threatening to dismember him.
"..."
Watching this horrifying scene, the Chen Family disciples began to make different choices.
Some still clung to a sliver of hope and crushed their Child Stones.
But a few others silently put their stones away. Clumsily, they emulated Senior Brother Lu, hurling their Sword Qi at the light screen.
And, just as expected, they fell back, their bodies torn apart.
"Oh my! I can’t take it, this is hilarious."
Watching them hop around like grasshoppers, the female disciple from the Zhao Family laughed so hard her stomach hurt, and she couldn’t help but rub her belly.
"GHK! GHK!"
Lu Yun stopped struggling. The clear light was squeezing so tightly it felt as if his very bones would snap.
His eyes were clouded with his own blood, his vision turning a blurry, dark red.
Through his haze, he saw his junior brothers in their desperate struggle, surrounded by jeering laughter.
A look of bleak despair crossed the red-faced Cultivator’s face.
’Perhaps this is the path of Cultivation.’
’One’s character doesn’t matter.’
’Whether an ant chooses to fight back or simply waits for the end, no one pays it any mind.’
’No one cares.’
"I’m dying of laughter."
The female disciple let out a long breath, patting her chest lightly.
’Even if that Lin fellow doesn’t dare to show up tonight, seeing a scene this ridiculous made the trip worthwhile.’
Just then, a serious voice spoke right beside her ear.
"Really?"
Before the word was even fully spoken, the woman’s face changed dramatically. She whipped her head around to look.
She didn’t even have time to see the pale face clearly before a fist, radiating brutal power, filled her vision.
The vast expanse of Blood Spirit Stones on the ground suddenly erupted in crimson light.
Instantly, dozens of invisible light screens formed behind her.
A single one of those screens was enough to trap the Chen Family disciples.
However, a dark cyan sleeve billowed. Beneath the fist clenched by five slender fingers, a rapid series of crisp sounds rang out.
CRACK! CRACKLE!
In an instant, the dozens of light screens fractured and shattered.
The female disciple hadn’t even finished turning, her terrified scream caught in her throat, when the fist ruthlessly smashed into the side of her face.
A terrifying, overwhelming force erupted. The Defense Array on her Magical Robe had only just flared to life before its Spiritual Power was instantly drained.
Her entire head exploded.
Her full-figured body flew back more than a hundred feet, not yet even hitting the ground.
The young man took a single step, appearing behind her in an instant. He drove his elbow upward, slamming it into her spine.
BOOM!
There was no crisp sound of shattering bone.
Only a single, dull, explosive thud.
Under the horrifying force, the Cultivator’s entire body erupted into a mist of blood!
"..."
Lu Yun felt a damp mist settle on his face. His eyes, already wide, trembled, his pupils constricting.
A fair hand quietly entered his blurry field of vision.
With a sway of robes, the person bent down slightly and casually pulled him to his feet.
The moment the slender fingers touched him, the ropes of clear light crumbled into dust.
"Can you still run?"
"Lin... Senior Brother Lin..."
Lu Yun opened his mouth, but before he could reply, two Crimson Heart Pills shot into his throat like streaks of light.
He felt the surging medicinal power spread through his body.
His head swam as he trembled and said, "I can."
"Then lead them back."
In the night, the slender figure slowly rose. A dark cyan robe billowed in the mountain wind.
Beneath slightly disheveled hair, his pale face was speckled with a fine mist of blood, lending him a somewhat demonic air.
He swept his gaze casually across the surroundings.
Everywhere his gaze landed fell deathly silent.
"GASP!"
The Chen Family disciples had seen Lin Shu in action many times before.
But they had never witnessed such a savage display.
The woman, whose face was full of derisive laughter just a moment ago, was dead in an instant.
No, not even a corpse remained. It was as if she had never existed.
She had been laughing... and then she was gone.
The mountain wind was chilling, seeping into their very bones.
Everyone couldn’t help but shudder.
"Magical Artifacts, out!"
Lü Songting barked the order. A white light coalesced in his palm, forming a jade Token.
This was the White Tiger Treasure Order, a Mid Grade Magical Artifact bestowed upon him by his Master.
With this Token, he could look down on any Cultivator in the same realm.
In that same instant, the other six members of his group took out similar Jade Orders, distinguished only by the different Character Talismans inscribed on them.
The eight Jade Orders were designed to work in concert. Though one was now missing, white light still surged from them, connecting in a circle.
