Derrick looked at the five corpses of the Cave Stalkers and asked the system.

If I can sell them all, I will be able to earn more than what I did during my expedition with Keira.

Derrick did not waste a second and started harvest all the eight cores, including the three he had left behind.

Then, after a short break of ten minutes, Derrick had no collected all the blades and the cores.

He charged ahead while activating his [All Seeing Eyes]

His body was already brimming with unrefined energy of the pills from before, it would do him no good if he took another one now.

Even from the distance, he could see the ridge at the end of the cave leading down to the lower floor.

Jumping down, with practiced ease, Derrick felt a shift in the air as a blackish blue blur rushed towards him.

He dodged the attack as if he had long expected it.

At the same time, Derrick moved his legs like a whip and kicked the beast away from him.

Boom!

Thwack!

Before it could collide with the wall, the beast flipped in the middle of the air and landed on the wall swiftly before sliding down.

Derrick could finally see it with his own eyes.

It was a feline creature.

Almost half the size of his body, the beast had pitch black fur and a tail made out of blue flames.

"Meow~" The beast licked its paws as it glared at Derrick. The burning tail flickering in the air like a whip.

Wherever the tail touched, it left a scorching mark on the surface.

Does this mean, it can control fire? Derrick thought to himself as he tightened the hold on the two blades in his hands.

Woosh!

Once more, the segmented tail whipped through the air behind it with intense blue flames before the creature vanished.

Derrick could tell. The cat like beast was as fast as him.

If he relaxed even for a second, it would mean trouble for him.

Boom!

A streak of blistering cobalt fire sheared the air where Derrick’s neck had been a heartbeat prior.

He twisted to the side, his enhanced reflexes barely saving him from a pair of razor-sharp claws that scored deep grooves into the stone floor.

Blue Night Tiger.

That was the name of the beast.

Derrick recalled the information about the beast when he saw the paw crushing a stone slab behind him like it was made of glass.

Despite it looking like a cat the beast had the strength and the vigor of a tiger. It lusted after human blood and playfully engaged with its food until it devoured it in a prideful pose.

"What did I get myself into." Derrick threw two blade at the beast before it could land on the ground.

But it was more flexible than him and dodged without as much as a scratch.

It was impossibly fast.

Every swipe of its blazing tail threw off waves of oppressive heat, forcing Derrick onto the defensive. A direct physical clash was a losing gamble; the beast’s momentum was absolute.

Derrick ducked beneath a horizontal sweep of fiery claw.

A plan was already forming in his mind.

As his hands touched the ground, Derrick scooped a handful of dirt and pebbles.

With a sharp flick of his wrist, he hurled the debris directly against the far wall.

Clatter-clatter-skitter!

The Blue Night Tiger snapped his heads towards the source of the sound, its tail freezing mid whip.

While it thought that another predator had arrived in its territory, Derrick moved at the chance.

Woosh! Swish!

At first, he sent twin flying knives directly into its shoulder blades.

Before it could even realize what had happened, Derrick closed the distance and stabbed the beast with the short blade.

"MEOWWE!!!" The beast howled in pain as black blue blood dripped from the wounds and fell on the ground.

Being the merciful man he was, Derrick ended its painful life and moved on.

Just as he took a step, he saw two Blue Night Tigers standing side by side, waiting for him.

Were they attracted by the scream of that cat? Derrick thought to himself. Handling one was already a chore, now I have to deal with two at once?

He knew it was practically a death sentence to even think about it.

Even if by chance he survived, there was a huge probability of him getting gravely injured in the process.

So, without any hesitation, Derrick opened the system store and punched something.

A heavy, metallic sphere materialized in his palm.

With a sharp underhand toss, he rolled it directly into the center of the path between the two beasts.

Psssssh!

A dense, violet cloud erupted, swallowing the corridor in seconds.

Within a second, Derrick could hear the howling of the beasts from inside.

Once the smoke cleared he saw the twin Blue Night Tigers were now struggling to stand up straight.

What else can I expect from such a cheap item. It is amazing it can even shake awakened beasts to this point for even ten seconds.

Whoosh!

Derrick smiled to himself as he cleaved the two beasts in half.

Once the smoke had cleared out, Derrick had made his move without delay.

"Now, on to the deeper sections." With the award from the three hunt, Derrick was satisfied. He pocketed the knives and purchased a bottle of water for 10SC and drank it completely.

"I am starting to feel hungry now. Maybe I will catch a bite after the next hunt." Derrick stood up, letting out a measured, quiet breath.

It did not take long before he encountered another group Blue Night Tiger beasts. And Just like before, he took care of all of them swiftly.

With each floor, Derrick was growing stronger and sharper as a hunter and a fighter.
