Chapter 366: Chapter 366: A Flash of Intent

Grand Marshal Vane’s hand dropped.

The motion was clean. Final. The signal that sent the match into motion.

Gorath’s muscles tensed. His dark qi began to churn beneath his skin, black tattoos flaring with demonic light.

His foot lifted off the diamond-steel floor, ready to charge forward with his spiked iron club raised high.

He never got the chance to finish that step.

Damon didn’t move.

Not in the way the crowd expected. He didn’t lunge forward. He didn’t shift his stance. He simply looked at Gorath and channeled his intent through the wooden sword at his side.

A razor-sharp wave of invisible force erupted across the arena floor.

It was silent. Swift. Absolute.

The wave passed through Gorath’s body before his foot could land. The massive fighter froze mid-step, his eyes widening with confusion, then shock, then nothing at all.

A thin red line appeared across his torso, starting at his left shoulder and ending at his right hip.

Then his body slid apart.

The two halves hit the diamond-steel floor with a wet, heavy thud. Blood sprayed across the arena surface in a wide arc. The spiked iron club clattered away from his severed hand, rolling once before coming to a stop in the spreading pool of crimson.

Silence.

Absolute, crushing silence fell over the Great Solaris Arena.

Fifty thousand spectators held their breath. The commentators stared with open mouths, their words dying in their throats. The disciples from every sect sat frozen in their seats, their minds struggling to process what they had just witnessed.

One second.

One motion.

One kill.

The Crimson Eclipse dugout erupted into chaos.

Several disciples shot to their feet, their faces pale with shock and disbelief. One of them grabbed the railing, his knuckles white as he stared at the remains of his comrade scattered across the arena floor.

"What the hell was that?" someone shouted.

"I didn’t even see him move!"

"How did he—"

"Silence."

Kai’s voice cut through the panic like a blade.

He rose slowly from his stone bench, his cold eyes fixed on Damon’s figure across the arena. His expression remained unreadable, but a vein pulsed at his temple.

"So," Kai said, his voice low and controlled. "The rat has teeth."

In the VIP box, Alistair Reventon’s hand tightened around his armrest until the wood cracked beneath his grip.

"Sword Intent," he hissed through clenched teeth. "The boy has mastered Sword Intent."

Beside him, the Crimson Eclipse elder’s face had gone pale. "At his age? That’s impossible. That level of mastery takes decades—"

"And yet here we are." Alistair’s eyes burned with cold fury. "Send out the next fighter. And tell him to be ready this time."

In the royal box, King Aurelius Solaris leaned back in his throne, a slow smile spreading across his face.

"Magnificent," he murmured.

Prince Alex Solaris stood rigid, his eyes wide. "That was Sword Intent, Father. Pure Sword Intent. I’ve only seen Grandmaster Wei achieve that level of control."

"And yet a boy of eighteen wields it like a child’s toy." The King’s eyes gleamed with interest.

"The Azure Dragon Sect has produced a true monster."

In the Azure Dragon dugout, Ariel stood at the edge of the barrier, her hands gripping the railing so tightly her knuckles had turned white.

She had seen Damon fight before. She had witnessed his power firsthand.

But this was different.

This was effortless.

Mio let out a low whistle, her eyes fixed on the arena floor where Gorath’s body lay split in two.

"Well. That’s one way to make an entrance."

Mia smiled, her shadow flickering around her feet. "He’s showing off."

"He’s sending a message," Selene said, her voice calm but her eyes burning with pride.

Flare crossed her arms, a smirk tugging at her lips. "I guess we don’t need to worry about the first few rounds."

Alena shook her head slowly. "I knew he was strong, but that was something else entirely."

Seraphina said nothing.

She simply watched Damon with quiet admiration, her hand resting on the hilt of her Tempest Azure Blade.

On the arena floor, Damon lowered his wooden sword to his side.

He didn’t look at Gorath’s remains.

He didn’t acknowledge the blood spreading across the diamond-steel floor.

His golden eyes remained fixed on the Crimson Eclipse dugout.

On Kai.

Slowly, deliberately, Damon raised his wooden sword and pointed it directly at the demonic cultivator.

The gesture was clear.

’You’re next.’

The crowd erupted.

Fifty thousand voices exploded into a deafening roar that shook the very foundations of the arena. They had come expecting a tournament. They had come expecting fights and strategy and endurance.

But what they had just witnessed was something else entirely.

In the commentator’s booth, the lead announcer finally found his voice.

"Ladies and gentlemen..." His voice cracked with disbelief.

"What you have just witnessed is the fastest elimination in Eastern Continent Tournament history. One second into the match, and the Crimson Eclipse Sect has already lost their first fighter."

His co-commentator shook his head slowly. "I’ve been covering this tournament for forty years. I have never seen anything like that. That wasn’t just Sword Intent. That was Sword Intent perfected."

The crowd’s roar grew louder.

On the arena floor, Damon remained still, his wooden sword still pointed at the Crimson Eclipse dugout, his golden eyes never leaving Kai’s cold stare.

Grand Marshal Vane stepped forward, his voice cutting through the noise.

"The match continues. Crimson Eclipse Sect, send out your next fighter."

In the Crimson Eclipse dugout, the disciples exchanged nervous glances.

No one moved.

Kai’s jaw tightened. He turned to his second-in-command, a wiry man with twin daggers strapped to his thighs.

"You’re up," Kai said.

The man swallowed hard, his face pale. "Young Master, I—"

"You’re up," Kai repeated, his voice cold as ice. "Or I’ll kill you myself."

The man nodded stiffly and stepped onto the arena floor.

Damon watched him approach.

He didn’t move.

He simply waited, his wooden sword resting at his side, his golden eyes calm and patient.

The second fighter drew his daggers, his hands trembling slightly.

Grand Marshal Vane raised his hand.

"Fighters, prepare."

The fighter’s grip tightened on his daggers.

"Begin."

Damon moved.

He simply vanished from his position and reappeared directly in front of the second fighter, his wooden sword already mid-swing.

The fighter’s eyes went wide.

He tried to raise his daggers.

He was too slow.

The wooden sword move across his neck, and the world went black.

The fighter head separated from his body and fall into the ground.

The crowd erupted again.

Two seconds. Two fighters. Two eliminations.

Damon stood over the unconscious body, his expression unchanged.
