Chapter 148: The Craziest Night at Heaven’s Table ( Bonus GT Chapter III )

Before Yu Liang settled into his seat at the center of the private dining room, he pulled a chair out for Mei Hua. Turning toward his two new guests, he gestured toward the menus sitting on the table.

"Sister Lin, Xiaoxiao, order whatever catches your eye," Yu Liang said with a smile. "Don’t hold back anything."

Mei Hua leaned over, nudging Yu Liang’s shoulder with a playful pout.

"You made a grand declaration to the whole street, but do you have any idea how much work the kitchen staff has to do now? The cooks and attendants are going to be working themselves to the bone tonight! I can’t even imagine how wild the frenzy downstairs is going to get once the news spreads throughout the whole outer city."

"Let them feast then," Yu Liang laughed, pouring her a cup of fresh spirit tea. "It’s a celebration and people should celebrate."

Across the table, Xiaoxiao opened the menu, her eyes scanned through each and every dish until there’s none left. Her breath caught in her throat. She had spent her entire life in small mortal village and backyard of outer sect, she had never even imagined dishes like these existed.

There were spiritual delicacies made from some glowing herbs? There’s even a steamed snow carp, and roasted mountain beast meats delicately sliced and seasoned.

Her mind was thoroughly bewildered by the endless options. The only thing that kept her calm was looking at the listed prices.

Every item was priced so fairly and modestly that even a penniless outer disciple like her could easily afford a meal here with a few days of basic missions.

’Even though this is Young Master Yu’s restaurant and he’s paying, I shouldn’t burden him by ordering too extravagantly,’ Xiaoxiao thought innocently to herself, picking out two modest dishes with a happy, relieved smile.

On the other side of the table, however, a massive storm was brewing in Lin Xuehan’s mind.

As a Core Disciple who had traveled to various grand capitals, places and cities, Lin Xuehan had tasted best delicacies. She immediately recognized several of the best and classic dishes listed on the pages.

But the prices... the prices were low. Far, far too low.

Lin Xuehan knew Yu Liang’s character by now. He was a man who spent mountains of wealth without blinking, there was absolutely no way he would ever cut corners or use cheap, inferior ingredients in his kitchen.

He was serving genuinely Top Tier, pure spiritual food at absolute rock bottom costs. When she heard the commotion down on the street earlier, she had assumed the prices were just slightly discounted, but seeing the actual numbers on the page made her head spin.

People goes into business to make money. That was simply common sense. Yet Yu Liang was doing the exact opposite, he was literally giving away food at prices so low that he was probably losing millions of spiritual stones every single day.

She had never seen a businessman like him before.

For a moment, Lin Xuehan genuinely wanted to ask why he would do such a thing. What could possibly be his reason for operating a business that seemed determined to lose money?

But everyone have their own reasons. And she clearly had no intention of asking, she wisely kept her curiosity to herself.

Looking beside her at Xiaoxiao, who was happily pointing at a simple dish of steamed vegetables with a bright, innocent expression, Lin Xuehan couldn’t help but sigh softly to herself. ’Sometimes... not knowing too much really is a bliss.’

Soon, the dishes were brought out. The food was nothing short of art, the rich, fragrant steam carrying dense spiritual energy that warmed their meridians with every bite. Xiaoxiao praised every single dish with genuine, starry eyed wonder, her small face glowed with pure happiness as she ate, while even the usually restrained Lin Xuehan couldn’t stop her chopsticks from moving.

As the evening progressed, the peace of the top floor stood in stark contrast to the overwhelming tide downstairs. Down in the main halls and outer courtyards, the sheer volume of orders began to pile up.

The attendants and kitchen staff moved as fast as their legs could carry them, their foreheads dripped with sweat. Though they managed it with incredible discipline, the sheer pressure of hundreds of hungry cultivators ordering simultaneously was rapidly approaching a breaking point.

Noticing the growing strain below, Yu Liang turned toward his five guards sitting at the neighboring table.

"Yan Ruo, Chen Lu, Hei Lang and twins... go down and lend them a hand," Yu Liang instructed.

They stood up, bowed and disappeared down the stairs. The moment five powerhouses stepped into the floor management, clearing tables, carrying heavy trays effortlessly while organizing the queues, the chaotic situation instantly stabilized.

Watching the bustling, joyful environment downstairs through the open balcony railing, Xiaoxiao’s eyes flickered with a desire to help. She turned to Yu Liang, nervously. "Y-Young Master Yu... can I go down and help them too? I used to serve tea in the village... I want to contribute too!"

Yu Liang looked at her eager, sincere face and smiled. "Go ahead. Just don’t overexert yourself."

Xiaoxiao practically bounced out of her seat, rushing downstairs to join the floor staff.

At first because she was nervous and unfamiliar with the layout, she naturally made a few small mistakes, nearly tripping over a wooden stool and misplacing a order.

Xiaoxiao braced herself, reflexively flinching and expecting to be scolded or a barrage of cruel insults like she was used to in the outer sect. But to her utter shock, not a single customer or staff member scolded her.

"Take it easy, little sister!" a rough looking Foundation Establishment rogue cultivator laughed heartily, eating the order. "There’s no rush!"

"Here, let me hold that hot soup dish for you, Miss," an older attendant gently guided her with patience, showing her the proper way to navigate the crowded tables.

As the news of the free banquet spread across the outer city, the surge of incoming customers doubled, then tripled.

Cultivators packed the street, overflowed into the courtyard, and filled every available bench. The staff was once again facing an unprecedented wave.

Then, something miraculous happened.

A group of cultivators who had already finished their meals stood up from their wooden benches, rolled up their sleeves, and casually grabbed empty wooden trays from the service counters.

"Hey! Don’t just sit there picking your teeth!" a fierce looking mercenary barked at his squad members, as he carried a stack of dirty plates toward the wash station. "Boss Yu is treating us to the best! Let’s help clean up so the people waiting outside can get a seat!"

"Count us in!"

Before long, dozens of customers stepped in to help. Those whose orders hadn’t arrived yet voluntarily helped carry dishes to the neighboring tables, those who were done eating wiped down benches and swept the courtyard.

The rigid boundary between customer, servant, and attendant completely dissolved. There was no distinction of status, no arrogance of cultivation realms, and no fear.

The entire street became a single, roaring ocean of shared laughter, lively banter, and genuine warmth.

Lin Xuehan stood at the balcony railing, staring down at the scene below in a speechless shock.

Throughout her entire life, she had known the cultivation world as a cold, ruthless, and blood soaked abyss. It was a world where the strong devoured the weak, where people killed each other over a single herb, and where cruelty was praised as survival. But looking down at this crowded street, she saw none of that brutal reality.

’Can... can people really just be happy together like this?’ Lin Xuehan wondered. As a commoner who had clawed her way out of poverty through sheer violence, she knew better than anyone else just how rare and impossible this scene truly was.

Beside her, Yu Liang stood at the edge of the balcony, looking down at the dancing, laughing cultivators below.

Mei Hua stepped closer to his side. She reached out, her delicate fingers sliding between his, interlocking their hands tightly. Leaning her head gently against his broad shoulder, she looked out over the restaurant they had built together.

"See, my love?" Mei Hua murmured softly. "Your dream... it’s already fulfilled."
