Infinite Cashback: My God-Tier Cashback System

Chapter 235: You Don’t Listen Cecelia!

  • Next Chapter

Fortunately, most of the staff had already gone out for lunch.

At the moment, only Cecelia, Roseline, and Jessie remained in the secretariat, so there was little chance of anyone overhearing them.

Jessie was one of their closest colleagues. After what happened in the underground parking garage last time, both she and Roseline had already figured out Cecelia’s relationship with Luca.

Because of that, they weren’t kept in the dark about her pregnancy.

Cecelia had just picked up the stack of documents on her desk and resumed reading when the light in front of her dimmed.

Before she could react, a hand reached over and effortlessly slipped the file from her grasp.

A familiar voice followed.

"Didn’t I tell you to get some rest? Why are you still working?"

Knowing full well that Cecelia would never stay home obediently, Luca had come straight to the company.

The moment she saw him, her eyes sparkled.

She had expected him to come sooner or later, but she hadn’t imagined he’d arrive this quickly.

Still...

She’d promised him over the phone that she’d take it easy.

Instead, she’d come to work as usual and was now caught reviewing documents during her lunch break.

A trace of guilt appeared on her face.

Standing up, she lightly scratched his palm with her fingertip.

"There’s only a little left. Don’t be mad."

The instant Luca walked in, Roseline and Jessie quietly exchanged glances and began tiptoeing toward the door.

They’d barely taken two steps before Cecelia’s unusually gentle tone reached their ears.

The two froze.

Roseline had only joined the company recently, so her surprise wasn’t too overwhelming.

Jessie, however, had worked alongside Cecelia for years.

This was the first time she’d ever heard the normally composed and capable woman speak so softly to anyone.

So it wasn’t that Cecelia couldn’t be affectionate...

She simply hadn’t met the right person before.

Their president really was something.

Luca wasn’t angry in the slightest.

Instead, he curled his fingers around hers and held her hand firmly.

"Come on."

He smiled.

"Let’s go eat."

"Huh?"

Cecelia blinked.

"I’m still working..."

Luca stopped but made no move to release her hand.

"Is your work more important than your husband?"

Her eyes widened.

"No, no... of course you’re more important."

"Good."

Without giving her another chance to argue, he gently led her out of the office.

...

The top floor housed only the president’s office and the secretariat.

The other departments, including the general manager’s office, were located on lower floors.

Still, employees occasionally came upstairs on business.

Cecelia couldn’t help becoming nervous.

She hurried two steps ahead and lowered her voice.

"Luca... let go of my hand first. What if someone sees us?"

Before she finished speaking, Luca suddenly stopped walking.

She assumed he’d finally listened.

Instead, he lowered his gaze toward her feet, his brows knitting together.

"Luca?"

She called softly.

Seeing no response, she tried slipping her fingers from his hand.

He still didn’t move.

Finally, he spoke.

"Why are you wearing high heels today?"

"Huh?"

She paused before understanding what he meant.

Now that she was pregnant, high heels obviously weren’t ideal.

But she’d only learned about the pregnancy recently.

Before that, she’d been wearing them every day.

Besides, the department’s dress code required female employees to wear heels.

"Luca... I..."

He sighed.

"You really don’t listen."

Before she realized what was happening, he bent down and scooped her into his arms.

"Ah!"

Cecelia instinctively wrapped an arm around his neck.

"Luca! Put me down! We’re at the company!"

She had never expected him to be this bold.

This wasn’t the privacy of his office.

They were standing in the hallway, where someone could appear at any moment.

What if another employee saw them?

By lunchtime, the entire headquarters would know about their relationship.

Flustered, she lightly slapped his arm.

"Luca... please put me down. Someone might see us."

He nodded thoughtfully.

"You’re right."

Relief flashed across her face.

Then she felt the hand supporting her legs shift slightly upward, carefully pulling the hem of her skirt down so it completely covered her.

Only after making sure nothing inappropriate could be seen did he lean close and whisper into her ear.

"There."

"Now there isn’t anything only I should be seeing."

Cecelia almost burst into tears.

’That’s not what I meant!’

...

Carrying her, Luca stopped outside the elevator.

"Celia."

"I’m not pressing it."

She turned her head away, pretending to sulk.

Luca stared at her for a moment.

Then he suddenly leaned in.

Pop.

A loud kiss landed on her cheek.

"Luca!"

Her eyes widened.

"What are you doing?"

He smiled innocently.

"Celia... press the elevator button."

She stubbornly refused to move.

Seeing him lean closer again, her resolve instantly crumbled.

"Alright, alright!"

"I’ll press it!"

"But that’s all... Mmm..."

Ding.

The elevator button lit up.

At the same moment, Luca stole a quick kiss from her lips.

Only when the elevator doors slid open did he finally pull back, carrying her inside with a thoroughly satisfied smile.

Cecelia’s face had turned completely red.

Whether from embarrassment or frustration, even she couldn’t tell anymore.

She wrapped both arms around his neck and glared at him.

"I pressed the button like you wanted."

"Why did you still kiss me?"

"Hm?"

Luca blinked innocently.

"What are you talking about?"

"You know exactly what I’m talking about!"

She puffed her cheeks in annoyance.

He always acted clueless whenever it suited him.

Luca tilted his head.

"Oh..."

"So that’s what you meant."

"I thought you wanted to kiss your husband."

"Since you asked so sincerely, how could I refuse?"

"Come here."

"I’ll give you another proper kiss."

Cecelia stared at him in disbelief.

"..."

’How can someone be this shameless?’

What made matters worse was that the executive elevator ran directly between the top and first floors without stopping.

The ride wasn’t especially long.

But it was more than enough time for Luca to tease her until her lips felt warm and slightly numb.

Only when the announcement signaled they had reached the lobby did he finally let her go.

She barely had time to recover before the elevator doors began opening.

Unlike the quiet executive floor, the first floor still had employees coming and going.

The reception desk was always staffed.

"Put me down."

She struggled lightly.

Luca held her securely without budging.

The moment he carried her out of the elevator, she realized there was no changing his mind.

Panicking, she quickly buried her burning face against his chest.

’If I can’t see them...’

’Then maybe they won’t recognize me.’

It was nothing more than wishful thinking.
