Chapter 252: Meeting Arabella’s Friend

  • Next Chapter

Michael knew exactly what kind of person Jack was.

Although they had known each other for years, they were hardly friends. Their relationship had always been limited to occasional encounters and polite nods. They had never been particularly close.

If Jack hadn’t been eyeing Luca’s two younger sisters, Michael might have already twisted his head off and kicked it around like a football.

He calmly pulled his hand away from Jack’s grasp, her expression indifferent.

"No need. I already have an appointment with a friend. I won’t disturb your enjoyment."

With that, Michael turned to leave.

Just then, a thin man sitting behind Jack stood up.

His expression was grim, and his voice immediately turned sharp.

"Michael! You’ve got some nerve. How dare you refuse Young Master Denim’s invitation?"

As one of Jack’s loyal followers, Tyrone knew exactly what his master had in mind.

Jack had taken an interest in the two beautiful women standing behind Michael, and Tyrone saw the perfect opportunity to show his loyalty.

If he defended Jack now, perhaps he could earn even more favor. Maybe one day, he could follow Jack around and enjoy some of the benefits that came with it.

He couldn’t deny that he was also envious of the two women.

Once Jack lost interest in them, there might be a chance for him.

Jack had always operated that way.

Tyrone had become so accustomed to things going smoothly that he assumed Michael wouldn’t dare oppose Jack.

He was wrong.

Michael’s expression instantly turned cold.

"You’ve got some nerve. Pointing your finger at me and raising your voice?"

Before Tyrone could react, Michael raised his hand and slapped him across the face.

The sharp crack echoed through the room, drawing the attention of everyone nearby.

Michael casually shook his hand and looked toward Jack.

"Jack, your dog is making quite a racket. I helped you quiet him down. You don’t mind, do you?"

The change in his tone was obvious.

Michael couldn’t help wondering if he’d been too low-key all this time.

Even one of Jack’s lackeys had started barking at him like a dog.

"Hehe, of course I don’t mind."

Although Jack was furious, he wasn’t stupid enough to sever his relationship with Michael over something this trivial.

Michael’s family, the Halloway family, was one of Capital City’s top wealthy families.

They couldn’t compare to the rapidly rising Maison Premier, but the difference wasn’t enormous.

More importantly, the Windsor family had maintained a close relationship with the Halloway family for generations.

The Windsor family had declined considerably in recent years, but their foundation was still there.

Even Maison Premier had to think twice about provoking the combined influence of the Windsor and Halloway families.

As for Tyrone, Michael was completely justified in teaching him a lesson.

He was just a dog.

A stupid one, at that.

He had dared to take advantage of Michael, and even if Michael hadn’t punished him, Jack would have done it himself later.

Jack was arrogant, but he wasn’t stupid. He had no intention of keeping a fool like Tyrone around.

"Tyrone Bellemy, what are you standing there for? Hurry up and apologize to Michael!"

Jack didn’t even turn around when he spoke, but the coldness in his voice made Tyrone’s heart sink.

Tyrone felt as though lightning had struck him.

In the past, whenever Jack took an interest in a woman, Tyrone had always been the one arranging things behind the scenes.

He had always been proud whenever Jack praised him for his work.

But perhaps he’d become too complacent after things had gone his way for too long.

"Young Master Denim, I..."

Tyrone was unwilling to apologize.

He was the one who had been slapped, yet he was being forced to apologize to the person who had hit him.

His family might not have been as powerful as the top wealthy families, but they weren’t insignificant either. Otherwise, he would never have had the opportunity to associate with someone like Jack.

If word got out that Tyrone had not only been slapped but had also been forced to apologize afterward, how would he ever show his face in Capital City’s elite second-generation circles again?

His hesitation lasted only a few seconds, but it was enough.

A flash of impatience crossed Jack’s eyes.

He was already irritated by what had happened, and now his own subordinate was openly hesitating to follow his orders.

Jack turned around and drove his foot into the back of Tyrone’s knee.

"Ah!"

Tyrone’s legs buckled, and he dropped to his knees with a heavy thud.

If he still couldn’t understand what Jack meant, then he really was a fool.

He had no choice.

Whether he apologized or not was no longer up to him.

"Young Master Michael, I’m sorry!"

Tyrone lowered his head, his face burning with humiliation.

"Luca, let’s go."

Michael didn’t respond.

He didn’t even spare Tyrone a glance.

Someone this clueless wasn’t worth wasting another word on.

Luca simply smiled and nodded.

"Okay."

Once Luca and the others had gone far enough, Jack glanced down at Tyrone, who was still kneeling on the floor.

"Go back now. You don’t need to follow me anymore."

With that, Jack turned and walked away.

However, the cold glint in his eyes made his intentions clear.

He couldn’t afford to touch Michael.

Not directly, anyway.

But that didn’t mean he was willing to let the two beautiful girls go.

’We’ll lock them up properly and discipline them slowly. That should be enough to relieve some of this frustration.’

His gaze then shifted toward the man who had been walking behind Michael.

Jack had noticed his gaze earlier.

Casual, mocking...

Yet somehow, dangerous.

Jack hated that kind of look, especially when someone looked at him as though he wasn’t worth taking seriously.

...

On Luca’s side.

"Luca, we’re here."

Michael pushed open the door to the private room.

Inside, a man and two women were reclining in comfortable chairs, their feet soaking in warm water. Several young women dressed in elegant clothing stood nearby, giving them massages.

"You’ve finally arrived!"

A round-faced girl immediately sat up when she saw them.

The three had known each other for some time and often went out together.

When they heard Michael had arranged to meet someone else, they naturally became curious.

And when they learned that the person was a male friend of Arabella from San Fierro, their curiosity only grew.

All three had wanted to meet him.

After all, who was Arabella?

She was only the sole heiress of the Windsor family, one of Capital City’s most prestigious families.

She was practically the definition of a rich, beautiful heiress.

She was also the woman who had once rejected the eldest son of Maison Premier.

It was incredibly rare for a man to receive an invitation to her birthday celebration in Capital City.

Naturally, they wanted to see what made this man so special.

"Luca, let me introduce you."

Michael pointed toward another man.

"This is my good brother, Tony."

She then pointed toward the two women.

"The round-faced one is Elizabeth, and the street light is Christine."

"Michael!"

Elizabeth immediately glared at him.

"Who are you calling round-faced?"

She wasn’t actually fat. Her face was simply a little round.

Her loose clothes made it difficult to see her figure, but from what little was visible, she clearly didn’t have much excess weight.

Christine wasn’t about to let herself be insulted either.

"Michael, how dare you call me a street light? I’m quite well-endowed, you know?"

Her defensive tone made Elizabeth snort.

Christine’s claim was... debatable.

Luca had been around enough beautiful women to tell at a glance that all three came from wealthy families.

Elizabeth’s appearance alone wasn’t enough to identify her background, but her mannerisms and the quality of her clothes made it obvious.

As for Christine, there was something else that caught Luca’s attention.

’Starline Airways Group might be worth working with.’

Michael’s introduction quickly brought everyone up to speed, and the atmosphere soon became much more relaxed.

"Michael, it looks like my title as the most handsome man in Capital City is about to change hands."

Tony placed a hand on Michael’s shoulder, his voice filled with exaggerated sadness.

"Tch. Narcissist."

Elizabeth rolled her eyes.

Tony really was quite handsome, and even now, plenty of girls at school were still pursuing him.

Of course, his family background certainly helped.

But calling him the most handsome man in Capital City was still a bit of a stretch.

At the very least, the eldest son of Maison Premier was more handsome.

Elizabeth had once thought that man was already exceptionally good-looking.

She hadn’t expected to meet someone even more striking today.

’No wonder Arabella became friends with him.’

So even the seemingly untouchable Arabella wasn’t completely immune to worldly desires.

It seemed the eldest son of Maison Premier simply hadn’t met her standards.
