Chapter 254: Rachel Makes Her Move!

  • Next Chapter

Luca felt completely refreshed after leaving The Elysian Club.

For Trish and Rachel, their first experience with a proper foot massage had completely changed their opinion of places like this.

"Bro, we should come here again when we have time."

Trish’s eyes sparkled as she spoke.

In the past, whenever she heard about places like this, her mind immediately went to the questionable services they were rumored to provide.

She had always scoffed at them.

But now, her opinion had changed.

’You really shouldn’t judge something before experiencing it yourself.’

There was a reason these places charged such high prices.

After experiencing the quality of the service firsthand, Trish felt the trip had been completely worth it.

So much so that she was already looking forward to coming back.

Luca glanced at her without saying anything.

Of course she thought it was worth it.

She hadn’t paid a single cent.

If he had made her pay the bill herself, he suspected she would have a very different opinion about the prices.

"Let’s go. It’s getting late, and we have things to do tomorrow."

Luca yawned.

The professional massage had been so relaxing that he had nearly fallen asleep.

It was completely different from when Naomi massaged him.

Whenever she did it, he somehow became more energetic instead.

More often than not, their massages ended with him massaging her instead.

...

Maison Premier, Capital City

A handsome young man stood quietly behind a desk, his refined features accompanied by a calm and easygoing expression.

Across from him, a middle-aged man lowered his head respectfully.

"Boss, Jack had a conflict with Michael from the Halloway family at The Elysian Club."

Jack had always been arrogant and domineering.

He had gotten into trouble more than once, sometimes even picking fights with other men in bars over women.

Fortunately, Maison Premier had a deep foundation, and its current head, Vincent Denim, was a capable man.

If the family were ever handed over to Jack, it was difficult to imagine what Maison Premier would become.

"They’ve made their move?"

Vincent raised an eyebrow slightly.

His attention remained fixed on a small sparrow perched on a branch outside the window.

The middle-aged man nodded.

"Michael was the one who made the first move. He slapped that Bellemy family brat across the face."

"Ha!"

Vincent let out a cold laugh.

"I told Jack a long time ago to get rid of those useless lackeys, but he wouldn’t listen."

Vincent knew his younger brother well.

Jack might be a good-for-nothing when it came to studying, but he wasn’t stupid enough to deliberately provoke the heirs of Capital City’s major families.

Especially someone from the Halloway family.

That meant the Bellemy family’s brat must have been the one who provoked Michael.

"Tyrone was forced to kneel and apologize. The matter should have ended there, but..."

"But?"

Vincent’s expression darkened slightly.

’Could there be someone else involved?’

’Did Michael refuse to let the matter go?’

That didn’t sound right.

Based on what he knew about Michael, the young man wasn’t petty or vindictive.

"The reason Jack provoked Michael was because he took an interest in the two women Michael brought with him."

"Hmm."

Vincent nodded.

He wasn’t surprised.

His younger brother had never been able to resist beautiful women.

He was already approaching marriage age, yet he still spent most of his time outside enjoying himself.

He couldn’t even be bothered to help with the family business.

The original reason the family had sent Jack abroad was to let him study properly.

Once he returned, he was supposed to assist Vincent in carrying Maison Premier into the future.

Instead, Jack had turned into a wild horse that had completely broken free of its reins.

He had spent several carefree years abroad with nobody there to restrain him.

In a way, they had even taken pride in his exploits.

After all, he had managed to establish quite a reputation overseas.

"What? Is there something special about those two women?"

Vincent shook his head with a chuckle.

"Yes."

The middle-aged man’s expression became serious.

"They’re both connected to Luca Hale."

Clatter!

The teacup slipped from Vincent’s hand and smashed against the floor.

The fragments scattered across the carpet.

"What did you say?"

His expression changed completely.

Michael’s identity alone hadn’t been enough to make Vincent nervous.

Even if Jack had offended the Halloway family, Vincent believed he could resolve the matter.

At worst, Jack could personally apologize.

But Luca Hale was different.

His younger brother had actually managed to offend the president of Hale-Viv Conglomerate.

Vincent had never met Luca personally, but he had heard enough about what happened in New Orleans.

That young man was ruthless.

When he decided to make a move, he didn’t leave his opponent much room to fight back.

Maison Premier was currently at a critical stage of its development.

They were trying to push the family business to another level, and Vincent absolutely could not afford to create a powerful enemy like Luca at this point.

"Where is Jack now?"

Vincent’s voice turned cold.

"He sent people to investigate Luca. After that, he went to a bar."

"Bring him back immediately."

Vincent slammed his palm against the desk.

"And bring back every man he sent out."

His expression was ugly.

"You always cause trouble for me."

...

On Luca’s side.

"Sir, the car that was following us has turned around."

The driver glanced at the rearview mirror before speaking.

"Hmm."

Luca didn’t seem particularly concerned.

"It looks like the Maison Premier head is keeping a close eye on his younger brother."

Thinking about it, Luca could understand.

Having a younger brother like Jack would probably give anyone a headache.

Even Trish occasionally gave him plenty of trouble.

Jack, however, was a spoiled brat who spent his days indulging himself outside.

Fortunately, he wasn’t completely brainless.

Before doing anything serious, Jack had at least sent someone to investigate Luca.

He had also understood that he couldn’t afford to completely fall out with Michael.

That much was probably the result of his family upbringing.

...

After returning home, Luca said goodnight to the two girls before heading to his room.

For some reason, Rachel had been acting strangely ever since they left The Elysian Club.

Usually, whenever she made eye contact with him, she would immediately look away, her cheeks turning red.

Tonight, however, she had been staring at him.

Not just glancing.

Staring.

The look in her eyes was almost like someone looking at their favorite dessert.

Luca couldn’t figure out what had gotten into her.

’What’s wrong with this girl?’

He thought about it for a while after getting into bed, but eventually gave up.

There was no point trying to understand something he couldn’t understand.

He tossed his phone onto the bedside table, closed his eyes, and fell asleep.

...

The next morning, just as dawn was beginning to break, Luca felt something soft against his hands.

Still half asleep, he frowned slightly.

His eyes opened halfway.

A blurry figure was sitting on his bed.

"Sophie?"

The figure suddenly trembled.

Then she moved closer and straddled him before leaning down against his chest.

A soft voice reached his ears.

"Luca, you guessed wrong..."

The sleepiness vanished from Luca’s mind instantly.

His eyes widened.

"Rachel?! What are you doing?"

Rachel looked down at him, her face flushed.

"Luca, don’t you like my feet?"

She gently placed her feet into his hands.

"Feel them. Aren’t they soft?"

Only then did Luca realize that he was holding both of Rachel’s feet.

Her toes moved slightly as she nervously fidgeted with them.

"Luca, are they soft?"

Her voice was softer than usual, almost deliberately sweet.

Luca had never heard her speak to him like this before.

For some reason, the sound made his heart itch.

Rachel was also far too close.

The warmth of her body pressed against him, and the faint scent of her shampoo lingered in the air.

She was usually so shy around him that seeing her behave this boldly was almost overwhelming.

Luca took a deep breath.

"Hiss..."

’This girl is really testing my self-control.’

"Rachel, move over a little."

He shifted beneath her.

"It hurts a bit."
