Chapter 323: That’s a Ridiculous Question!

  • Next Chapter

Back at home, Luca headed to the bedroom, where Cecelia was waiting for him. He cupped her face gently and kissed her forehead before drawing her into his arms.

"Did you miss me?"

"Mmm." Cecelia nodded, resting her head against his shoulder. With her eyes closed, she savored the warmth of his embrace, enjoying a rare moment of peace with him.

At her request, Luca began recounting everything that had happened in Capital City, from the conflict with Maison Premier to his confrontation with the Sato family.

Cecelia’s expression changed several times as she listened. When she heard that Vincent Denim had severed ties with Luca, worry briefly crossed her face. However, as Luca explained how he had dealt with Maison Premier and Akari Sato, she gradually relaxed.

Only then did she let out a quiet sigh of relief.

Cecelia had met Vincent back when he worked under Gordon Luiz. She had even personally prepared tea for him on one occasion. At the time, he had been an ambitious young man with a promising future, full of confidence and determination.

Now, however, Maison Premier had fallen apart, and Vincent’s own fate was uncertain.

’How quickly things can change.’

It was difficult not to feel a little sorry for how far he had fallen, even if his actions had brought the consequences upon himself.

...

Around the same time, Sophie and Rachel returned home.

They had barely entered the house when they encountered their mother, Diana Kennedy, who had just come out of the bathroom.

After exchanging greetings with her, Rachel was suddenly grabbed by Sophie and dragged into the bedroom.

Diana watched the two sisters disappear behind the door, looking rather bewildered.

She had no intention of prying into their private conversations. If her daughters had things they wanted to discuss between themselves, that was perfectly normal.

Still, their sudden secrecy was a little amusing.

Inside the bedroom, Sophie shut the door and immediately turned to her younger sister.

"Rachel, you and Luca... you haven’t done anything, have you?"

She asked the question so abruptly that Rachel stared at her for a moment.

The old Rachel might have struggled to understand what her sister meant. But after Luca had guided her through certain matters, she’d gone online and researched plenty of things herself. She was no longer as innocent about such topics as she used to be.

Naturally, she understood exactly what Sophie was asking.

Even so, her sister’s directness left her a little embarrassed.

’Does she really expect us to hit a home run right away?’

Relationships were supposed to progress one step at a time, weren’t they?

Rachel pouted.

"Sis, couldn’t you ask that a little more tactfully?"

"Don’t change the subject!" Sophie planted her hands on her hips. "Just tell me the truth. Confess and you’ll be treated leniently. Resist, and you’ll be punished severely!"

"Confess and you’ll be treated leniently, or you’ll rot in jail! Resist, and you’ll be punished severely, or you’ll be sent home for the New Year!" Rachel muttered under her breath.

"What did you say?"

"Nothing! Nothing at all!" Rachel quickly raised her hands. "Hey, don’t hit me!"

Sophie narrowed her eyes, clearly unconvinced.

Under her sister’s relentless stare, Rachel finally gave in.

"We haven’t gone that far yet, but... we’ve already taken a few steps."

She lowered her head slightly, looking somewhat dissatisfied with that answer herself.

To be honest, Rachel had once entertained the thought of becoming pregnant with Luca’s child before Sophie did. If Luca hadn’t deliberately held back, perhaps things might have progressed much further between them already.

Unfortunately, reality wasn’t quite so convenient.

Rachel had only just finished her college entrance examinations. She wouldn’t be starting university for another few days, and even if Luca wanted to take their relationship further, he would undoubtedly insist on taking precautions.

It wasn’t as though he would let her become a mother during her freshman year.

Well... it wasn’t entirely impossible, but that was hardly the point!

Sophie studied her younger sister’s expression and quickly realized just how deeply Rachel had fallen for Luca.

Although they hadn’t crossed that final line, the distance between them was practically negligible. If Luca gave the word, Sophie suspected Rachel would agree without a second thought.

She hadn’t asked Luca directly about the details of their relationship, but she didn’t need to. Judging by Rachel’s behavior, she could guess who had been pushing their relationship forward.

Or, more accurately, who had been eager to move forward.

Her own younger sister.

Sophie rubbed her forehead.

"So, what do you think we should do about this?"

She still found the entire situation hard to believe. How had she and her younger sister ended up falling for the same man?

And, more importantly, what were they supposed to tell their mother, Diana?

Just imagining that conversation gave her a headache.

Rachel, on the other hand, seemed to have no such concerns.

"Hehe, Sis, why don’t we just be together?"

She giggled at the thought, already imagining all sorts of exciting possibilities.

The more she thought about it, the more appealing the idea seemed.

If she and Sophie could both stay by Luca’s side, wouldn’t that be wonderful?

"No way!" Sophie immediately objected. "How can you even suggest something like that? I’ve told you before that girls should be reserved!"

Her tone was firm, leaving no room for argument.

Yet, for some inexplicable reason, an image suddenly flashed through her mind.

She imagined herself and Rachel dressed in revealing outfits, standing side by side and waving Luca over.

Sophie froze.

’What on earth am I thinking?’

The image was far too embarrassing. Worse still, she could almost hear Luca whispering sweet words to her, just as he did whenever she became completely infatuated with him.

Her cheeks turned red.

’This is too exciting! No, wait. It’s completely immoral!’

"Ah! No, no! Absolutely not!"

Rachel blinked at her sister’s sudden outburst before a mischievous smile crept across her face.

"Sis, were you imagining something naughty?"

It was the first time the sisters had openly discussed something like this, and Rachel hadn’t expected Sophie to be so easily flustered.

They had barely started talking, yet her sister seemed to have already imagined the entire ending.

For all she knew, Sophie had mentally directed a whole epic movie.

"I wasn’t!" Sophie snapped.

Unfortunately, Rachel knew her sister far too well to believe that denial.

After all, they had grown up together. Sophie could fool other people, but she couldn’t fool her own younger sister.

Rachel decided not to push the matter further. Instead, she tilted her head thoughtfully.

"How about this, Sis? You can be the older wife, and I’ll be the younger one. We won’t interfere with each other. Doesn’t that sound reasonable?"

Sophie raised an eyebrow.

"What are you talking about? What does that even mean?"

But as she considered the situation more carefully, she couldn’t help feeling conflicted.

Rachel and Luca had already grown so close. What could she realistically do to stop them now?

Besides, she didn’t want to leave Luca either.

No matter how much she complained about the situation, she couldn’t bring herself to imagine a future without him.

Sophie clenched her teeth.

’It’s all Luca’s fault! That womanizer!’

She was convinced he’d planned everything from the beginning. He had somehow managed to win over both sisters, and now they were the ones left trying to figure out what to do about it.

’Are we twins or what? Why couldn’t he have fallen for someone else?’

After a moment, Sophie finally sighed and gave her younger sister a stern look.

"Anyway, you’re an adult now. I can’t control what happens between you and Luca in the future."

Rachel’s eyes widened slightly. She hadn’t expected her sister to concede so quickly.

"However," Sophie continued, raising a finger, "you need to be careful when you start university. Make sure you take precautions. If you don’t have any, come and ask me for some!"

"Wow!"

Rachel stared at her in astonishment.

Apparently, her sister had quite a stock of family planning supplies.

Then again, Sophie was already in a relationship with Luca. It shouldn’t have been that surprising.

Rachel grinned.

"Sis, don’t you use them yourself?"

Sophie sat down on the edge of the bed and let out a weary sigh.

"Luca and I haven’t used them in a long time."

The moment the words left her mouth, she regretted how they sounded.

Her gaze drifted toward her stomach, which remained as flat as ever.

She couldn’t help feeling a little frustrated.

’When am I finally going to get pregnant?’

Meanwhile, Rachel had caught the hint of disappointment in her sister’s expression.

"Sis, you don’t even use them yourself. Why are you telling me to?"

Sophie immediately looked up.

"What? Do you actually want to get pregnant while you’re in college?"

"No."

Rachel winked at her.

"But think about it, Sis. If we have a threesome with Luca, do you think he should use them or not?"

The question caught Sophie completely off guard.

"Th-that’s a ridiculous question!"

She shot to her feet, glaring at Rachel with wide, beautiful eyes.

"I told you already! Absolutely not!"

Whether it was anger, embarrassment, or the fact that her imagination had once again begun working against her, Sophie couldn’t stand being in the room any longer.

She turned and hurried out of the bedroom.

Rachel watched her sister’s retreating figure with a delighted smile.

"Sis, I hope you’ll be able to say that so confidently when you’re facing Luca."

She giggled to herself.

They were sisters, after all, and the fact that they were practically look alikes only made the situation more complicated.

Rachel couldn’t deny that she was looking forward to seeing how things would unfold.

After all, Luca was a man who had already managed to win both their hearts.

Would he really be able to resist the two of them if they stood together and made their intentions clear?

Rachel seriously doubted it.
