Infinite Cashback: My God-Tier Cashback System
Chapter 332: Are You His Mistress?
While Luca and Aunt Valerie were busy preparing dinner, a tense conversation was unfolding in one of San Fierro’s most exclusive residential communities, Golden Water Bay.
"Mom! I’m home!"
Naomi pushed open the front door, carrying a bag of freshly purchased fruit.
As she stepped into the living room, she spotted two middle-aged women sitting together on the sofa. They appeared to be around the same age and even shared a few similar features.
Yet neither looked particularly happy.
If they hadn’t been holding hands, Naomi might have assumed they’d had an argument.
A middle-aged man with a slender build stood on the nearby balcony, gazing out at the distant river. He only turned around when he heard Naomi’s voice.
If Luca had been there, he would have immediately recognized the three people in the room. One was Naomi’s mother, Elena Monroe. The other two were the same middle-aged couple he had encountered at the hospital earlier that day.
Rosemarie was the woman who had injured her ankle at the mall, and Hank was her husband. Luca had personally pushed Rosemarie to the hospital in a wheelchair after the accident.
"Aunt Rosemarie, Uncle Hank, when did you arrive?"
Naomi had barely finished asking when she noticed the bandages wrapped around Rosemarie’s left foot.
Her expression changed immediately.
"Aunt Rosemarie, what happened to your foot? When did you get hurt?"
As far back as she could remember, Rosemarie and Hank had always treated her well. They sent her red envelopes during the holidays, bought her gifts on special occasions, and regularly checked in to see how she was doing.
Their kindness had never depended on how successful she was, which was why Naomi had willingly shared her address in Golden Water Bay with them.
The same couldn’t be said for some of her other relatives. Ever since she became a popular livestreamer, those people had suddenly started trying to get close to her. Naomi had long since seen through their intentions and wanted nothing to do with them.
She had never expected to come home and find Rosemarie injured.
"I just twisted my ankle by accident. It’s nothing serious," Rosemarie assured her with a dismissive wave. "The doctor said there was nothing to worry about."
Her relaxed tone was clearly meant to put Naomi at ease.
Hank returned from the balcony and bent down to pick up the bananas Naomi had placed on the table.
"Your aunt isn’t hiding anything from you. We just came back from the hospital."
Naomi finally breathed a little easier, though the concern on her face didn’t disappear completely.
"Aunt Rosemarie, please tell me next time something like this happens. Don’t just brush it off. You have no idea how worried I was when I saw your foot."
"Alright, I will." Rosemarie nodded.
For a brief moment, an unusual expression flickered across her face as she looked at Naomi.
Naomi met her gaze and felt an inexplicable tightness in her chest.
It wasn’t just Rosemarie. Elena, who had barely spoken since Naomi arrived, also seemed troubled.
Something was wrong.
Naomi couldn’t explain why, but she had a growing suspicion that whatever had put her mother and aunt in such a poor mood had something to do with her.
’What happened while I was out?’
"Mom, it’s getting late. When are we going to eat?" she asked, hoping to ease the awkward atmosphere.
"Almost done. There’s only one dish left to stir-fry. I’ll make it once the spaghetti is ready."
Elena exchanged a brief, reassuring look with Rosemarie before getting to her feet.
"Naomi, come with me. I need to ask you something."
The moment she heard her mother’s serious tone, Naomi’s heart skipped a beat.
She had rarely seen Elena speak to her like that.
Growing up, Naomi had always been a well-behaved child, both at home and at school. Her grades had never been exceptional, but they were good enough that Elena rarely needed to worry about her studies.
More importantly, Elena was a gentle woman who spoke softly and treated everyone with kindness. Naomi could barely remember her mother losing her temper.
So why was she suddenly acting like this?
’Did I do something wrong?’
Naomi followed her into the room she usually used for livestreaming. Once the door closed behind them, Elena turned to face her.
"Naomi, tell me something. What exactly is your relationship with Luca?"
"Boyfriend and girlfriend," Naomi answered without hesitation.
It was the truth. She and Luca were already in a romantic relationship, even if she was only one of the women in his life.
However, the moment she heard her mother’s question, Naomi began to understand why the atmosphere in the living room had been so strange.
She wasn’t stupid. She could put two and two together.
’Could Uncle Hank and Aunt Rosemarie have seen Luca with Vivienne today?’
Luca had been at Vivienne’s place earlier. If the couple had encountered him there, they might have learned something about his relationships.
Naomi couldn’t be certain, but she already had a fairly good idea of what had happened.
"You’re still trying to lie to me!"
Elena’s voice rose sharply, startling her daughter.
"Do you really want Luca’s wife to show up at our door before you’ll admit what you’ve done?"
She stared at Naomi, her disappointment plain on her face.
"How did I raise you? I’ve always taught you to respect yourself and to know your worth. When you were younger, you stood your ground even when someone tried to tempt you with money. But now you’re willing to get involved with a man who belongs to another woman?"
Elena’s anger was mixed with genuine hurt.
She remembered what had happened shortly after Naomi graduated.
A man had tried to sexually harass her daughter. He had attempted to pressure Naomi with both threats and promises, even offering her fifty thousand dollars in exchange for her virginity.
Naomi had refused him outright.
At the time, she had only just graduated. She wasn’t wealthy, and fifty thousand dollars would have been an enormous sum for someone in her position. Yet she hadn’t hesitated for a moment.
Elena had always been proud of that decision.
She had spent years teaching Naomi to respect herself and never let money or pressure dictate her choices. Although her daughter hadn’t managed to find a job related to her degree after graduation and had eventually become a livestreamer, Elena had never looked down on her for it.
If anything, she admired Naomi for holding on to her principles when it mattered.
That was why this situation hurt so much.
How could the daughter she had raised so carefully end up involved in another woman’s relationship?
Whether it was for money or love, interfering in someone else’s marriage was wrong.
Naomi flinched at her mother’s outburst, her slender shoulders trembling slightly.
But as Elena’s words sank in, she caught something that didn’t make sense.
She raised her head.
"Mom, Luca isn’t married yet. Where did he get a wife from?"
Several of the women close to Luca called him their husband, but as far as Naomi knew, none of them had officially married him.
Surely he hadn’t secretly married another woman without telling any of them?
The thought briefly crossed her mind before she dismissed it.
’That’s ridiculous!’
Even Vivienne hadn’t received a marriage proposal from Luca yet. How could another woman possibly get ahead of her?
None of them said it outright, but they all understood where they stood.
Among Luca’s women, Vivienne occupied a special place in his heart. Whenever the two were together, there was an unspoken understanding between them that the others rarely tried to intrude upon.
It wasn’t that the other women couldn’t approach them. Rather, none of them had the heart to interfere with the bond they shared.
They had all willingly accepted Vivienne as the senior among them.
Even Cecelia, the eldest of Luca’s women, was comfortable with that arrangement.
So, as far as Naomi was concerned, there was simply no way Luca could have married someone else in secret.
