Infinite Cashback: My God-Tier Cashback System
Chapter 335: First Car!
Luca, who was visiting Valerie’s house, had no idea what had happened at Naomi’s home.
After dinner, he said goodbye to Valerie and drove off with Vivienne, Trish, and Daisy.
Their destination was Octaveo Pharmaceutical, Vivienne’s company.
"Bro, why are we going to Vivienne’s company?" Trish asked from the back seat, looking puzzled.
’Is Vivienne going to work this late?’
Being the chairwoman of a major company had to be exhausting. Trish couldn’t imagine having to deal with business matters all day long.
Before Luca could answer, Vivienne smiled and said, "Have you forgotten? You still have something waiting for you there."
"I haven’t forgotten! I just..." Trish began to protest, only to stop abruptly as realization struck her.
Her eyes widened.
"Vivienne, don’t tell me my car is there!"
Vivienne nodded. "Of course. It’s been sitting in the company’s underground parking garage for almost a week."
Luca and Vivienne had discussed Trish’s new car several times before finally settling on the Maserati MC20.
It wasn’t that Luca was unwilling to spend more money on the girls. He simply felt that Trish and Rachel were still young, having only recently reached adulthood. Giving them cars worth millions would attract far too much attention, especially when they drove to school.
A mid-range sports car was more than enough for them.
When Trish realized she was finally about to see her dream car, she could barely contain her excitement. She hurriedly pulled out her phone and called Rachel.
Two minutes later, she hung up and gripped the back of the front seat with both hands, leaning forward eagerly.
"Rachel says she’s already on her way!"
In fact, Vivienne had arranged for a driver to pick Rachel up from Golden Water Bay shortly after they left. If everything went according to plan, the two groups should arrive at Octaveo Pharmaceutical at roughly the same time.
And that was exactly what happened.
Luca’s car had barely reached the entrance when a Bentley Champagne appeared around the corner.
The two vehicles entered the underground parking garage one after the other.
After parking, Luca unfastened his seat belt and stepped out.
Before he could even look around, a petite figure wearing a yellow backpack came running toward him.
"Luca!"
Rachel rushed straight into his arms, wrapping both arms around his slender waist without the slightest hesitation.
Her cheeks were flushed as she pressed her face against his chest, her voice bright and sweet.
"I missed you so much, Luca! Did you miss me too?"
The sudden display of affection caught everyone off guard, including Luca himself.
But the person most shocked by the scene was the driver Vivienne had sent to pick Rachel up.
She stood beside the Bentley, staring at the embracing pair as though she’d just witnessed something unbelievable.
Then she cautiously glanced toward Vivienne.
To her surprise, the chairwoman was smiling.
The driver looked back at Luca and Rachel, then at Vivienne again.
’Chairwoman, are you sure you want to see this?’
Everyone at Octaveo Pharmaceutical knew about the relationship between Luca and Vivienne. Yet here he was, hugging another young woman right in front of her, and Vivienne seemed perfectly pleased with the situation.
Was she laughing because she was furious and trying to hide it?
The driver couldn’t make sense of it.
Just as she stood there wondering whether she should intervene, Vivienne’s voice came from beside her.
"You can go back to work now."
The driver jolted out of her daze and quickly straightened.
"Yes, Chairwoman!"
She was about to leave when Vivienne added, "One more thing. Don’t discuss what you saw here with anyone at the company. I don’t want rumors affecting Director Hale."
The driver opened her mouth slightly, but no words came out.
In the end, she could only nod.
She had never imagined that the usually composed, decisive chairwoman could be so understanding about something like this.
’So even the Ice Queen can be a hopeless romantic.’
Was this what people meant when they said love could change a person?
By the time Vivienne returned to Luca’s side, Rachel had already released him.
Noticing Vivienne approaching, the younger girl immediately straightened up. Her earlier boldness vanished, and she lowered her head shyly.
"V-Vivienne."
Vivienne smiled warmly.
"Sophie agreed?"
"Mm... Huh?"
Rachel looked up in surprise, clearly not expecting that question.
Vivienne reached out and took her hand.
"You’re such a cute girl, Rachel. From now on, let’s get along well and become good friends."
Then she glanced at Luca, who was standing nearby with an awkward expression.
"And you should spend more time with Luca whenever you can. Otherwise, what will you do if he finds himself another girlfriend?"
"Cough! Cough!"
Luca scratched the back of his head, caught between embarrassment and helplessness.
He had already decided that he wouldn’t go chasing after women anymore. But he also knew that earning the trust of the women already in his life would take time.
Words alone wouldn’t be enough to convince them that he had truly changed.
Vivienne gave him a long, meaningful look before finally turning her gaze away.
Having grown up in a prominent family, Vivienne had seen more than enough of the complicated relationships that existed among the wealthy.
She had encountered plenty of powerful men who maintained a respectable family life while keeping mistresses on the side. She had even witnessed cases in which those mistresses became so brazen that they tried to push the wives out of their own homes.
Most of the time, the wives simply turned a blind eye, choosing to preserve their positions rather than fight a battle they might not win.
Given that background, Vivienne wasn’t particularly troubled by Luca having other women in his life.
What she couldn’t tolerate, however, was someone deliberately trying to undermine her position or manipulate Luca for personal gain.
Fortunately, in her opinion, the women around him were generally easy to get along with. None of them seemed particularly scheming or malicious, and that made the situation considerably easier to accept.
"Vivienne, where’s our car? I can’t see it anywhere!"
Trish’s impatient voice suddenly interrupted her thoughts.
The girl had already wandered around the parking garage, looking from one row of vehicles to another.
There were plenty of luxury cars down here, but she hadn’t spotted a single Maserati MC20.
"How could I possibly leave your new car sitting outside?" Vivienne chuckled behind her hand.
She linked her arm through Luca’s and gestured for the others to follow.
"Come with me. Daisy, hold my hand."
Daisy obediently reached for Vivienne’s hand, and the group headed toward the far end of the underground garage.
There, tucked away in the innermost corner, stood a silver-white roller shutter.
Vivienne took Luca’s phone from him and tapped the screen a few times.
Beep!
A green indicator light appeared beside the entrance, and the roller shutter began to rise with a low mechanical hum.
Once it had opened completely, the lights inside the private garage switched on automatically, illuminating the space beyond.
"Wow! Vivienne, that’s so cool!"
Trish’s excited voice echoed through the underground parking garage.
Even Rachel, who was usually much quieter, couldn’t hide her astonishment.
At least seven or eight sports cars were parked inside the private garage, each one a head-turner in its own right.
Even Luca’s Koenigsegg One:1 was parked among them.
As for his Pagani Zonda R, he had been driving it around San Fierro himself, often taking Vivienne along for a ride. The pair had already attracted plenty of attention on the city’s streets, leaving quite an impression on those who had seen the car.
At the very front of the garage stood three nearly identical sports cars.
One yellow, one red, and one white.
All three were Maserati MC20s.
Trish stared at them in confusion before turning toward Luca.
"Bro, why are there three?"
Luca stepped forward and affectionately ruffled her hair.
"Have you forgotten about Lisa? She’s graduating from university soon, so consider one of these an early graduation gift for her."
As far as Luca knew, Lisa had obtained her driver’s license during her first year at university. However, she rarely drove, aside from occasionally borrowing her mother’s car when she returned home for the holidays.
Now that she was approaching graduation, Luca thought it was the perfect time to give her a car of her own.
And what better first car than a Maserati MC20?
