Chapter 343: Chapter 343: The Squad of Four’s Exploration, a Discovery

Regarding Julian Shaw’s plan, although Coco Sullivan was still pouting a little, she understood the priorities and nodded.

Trevor Tanner immediately braced himself.

In the dead of night, another team also began to move silently.

And within the deep darkness of the Zombie Kingdom, more unknown dangers and opportunities still lay dormant.

Trevor Tanner’s group of four moved carefully through the streets, rubble and debris underfoot, the tireless growls of zombies echoing in their ears.

Ordinary zombies posed little threat to them, but they were a nuisance in large numbers. Besides, the special infected lurking in the darkness were the truly fatal threats.

"Stay close. Don’t make too much noise."

Julian Shaw instructed in a low voice, a faint glint flashing in his eyes.

An invisible Force Field quietly spread out from him, enveloping Trevor Tanner, Dustin Sullivan, and Coco Sullivan.

[Gravity Control·Regional Weightlessness]!

The four of them immediately felt their bodies lighten, as if their feet had lost their firm connection to the ground.

Guided by Julian Shaw’s will, the four of them were lifted by an unseen hand, floating about half a meter off the ground and moving forward in silence.

This not only allowed them to avoid most of the debris and traps on the ground.

More importantly, many zombies that relied on sensing ground vibrations were now much slower to react to their levitating forms.

"Hey, this trick saves a lot of trouble," Coco Sullivan muttered, holding her palm up.

Several orange-red Fireballs materialized from thin air, orbiting her body like well-behaved sprites, rotating slowly.

The Fireballs emitted a warm, bright light, dispelling the darkness within a several-meter radius.

It clearly illuminated the distorted shadows of buildings and the ferocious faces of zombies that occasionally lunged out.

SWISH! SWISH!

Discovering the Aura of living beings, zombies roared and lunged forward.

Coco Sullivan’s eyes narrowed, and the orbiting Fireballs immediately acted like soldiers receiving a command.

They shot out with precision, slamming into the zombies’ heads or chests and exploding in bursts of flame, instantly setting them ablaze or blasting them away.

She controlled the power and trajectory of the Fireballs, striving for one-hit kills without creating loud explosions that might attract more attention.

"Why do we have to deal with so many zombies?" Coco Sullivan couldn’t help but continue her earlier complaint while manipulating the Fireballs.

"There are four of us, so by that count, we have to handle a quota of 120,000 zombies! What if there are thousands of Players in this instance? Is the system really going to have hundreds of millions of zombies for us to kill? Does that even make sense?"

She had a feeling there was something off about this enormous number.

Dustin Sullivan, who had been observing in silence, suddenly spoke up, his voice calm and clear. "Haven’t you guys noticed a problem?"

The other three looked at him.

"In any of the post-apocalyptic instances we’ve experienced before, whether they involved zombies, monsters, or natural disasters,"

Dustin Sullivan continued, "Shortly after entering, we would always encounter the instance’s Native People—survivors, resistance groups, or even remnants of the collapsed order.

"They could provide information, quests, or at least let us know what happened to this world and what the current situation is."

He paused, his gaze sweeping over the dead ruins, inhabited only by zombies.

"But here, we’ve been inside for almost a day, and besides zombies, we haven’t seen a single living person. There are no recent signs of human activity in the streets or buildings—no temporary camps, no distress signals, not even any fresh signs of battle... This city, or rather, this Zombie Kingdom, feels to me like... it’s been completely ’cleared’ and ’reset,’ leaving only these walking dead and us ’Players’ who were dropped in."

This analysis left Trevor Tanner and Coco Sullivan stunned for a moment.

Julian Shaw also nodded thoughtfully. "Now that you mention it, it is... too ’clean.’ There’s nothing but zombies and ruins."

Hearing this, Trevor Tanner immediately closed his eyes and pushed his [Power of Earth] Talent to its limit, carefully scanning the surroundings.

He was trying to find traces of Energy belonging to other humans or intelligent life, aside from the deathly Aura of the zombies and their own vitality.

However, before he could sense anything, Coco Sullivan had already made a discovery.

"Looks like... you don’t need to strain yourself sensing things,"

Coco Sullivan’s voice held a strange tone as she raised her hand and pointed toward the corner of a relatively wide street piled with abandoned vehicles.

"Over there, it looks like ’people’ are fighting? Or should I say... clearing zombies?"

The four of them perked up, immediately adjusting their hovering altitude and quietly approaching under the cover of the ruins.

Trevor Tanner also opened his eyes and looked in the direction Coco Sullivan was pointing.

Then, the scene that unfolded before them made all four of them hold their breath in unison, looks of shock on their faces.

In the area faintly illuminated by the Fireballs, a young girl in a light green dress, completely out of place in the dilapidated and bloody surroundings, was standing in the middle of a relatively open space.

She didn’t look very old. Her face was delicate but expressionless. She stood barefoot on the filthy ground, yet she was spotlessly clean.

The most eye-catching thing was her "companions":

About two or three meters above her head circled a small but extraordinarily majestic bird.

Its feathers were the orange-red of burning Flame, its tail feathers long. Every flap of its wings stirred up tiny sparks, causing a small area around it to flicker with light—it was Tubbs.

In the girl’s arms, she held an even more peculiar creature.

It had a pair of small Demon wings, and its large eyes were currently flashing with a ghostly green light.

Wherever its gaze landed, zombies lunging from the shadows would abruptly freeze, their skin rapidly taking on a stony sheen as they turned into statues of various poses—it was Moe.

And at the girl’s side stood a "rooster" with its head held high and chest puffed out, exuding an extraordinary presence.

Its feathers had a cold, hard metallic sheen. Its wings, in particular, had edges as sharp as blades, reflecting a cold glint in the faint light.

With just an occasional, light flap of its wings, several streaks of silver light, barely visible to the naked eye, would flash past. The heads of several distant zombies would then silently roll to the ground—it was Chubbs.

"What... what incredible pets!"

Trevor Tanner couldn’t help but exclaim in a low voice, his eyes wide behind his glasses.

Not only were these animals bizarre in appearance, but their combat power was also absurdly strong. They coordinated flawlessly, clearing out zombies with extreme efficiency.

Coco Sullivan also nodded subconsciously, temporarily forgetting her "grudge" with Trevor Tanner as her attention was captivated by this strange group.

"The fire bird’s and the Imp’s Control, and that Steel Rooster’s slash attacks... their coordination is perfect. Is that girl a Player with a Beast Taming Talent?"

However, Julian Shaw and Dustin Sullivan’s attention was focused more on the girl herself.
