Chapter 346: Chapter 346: A Suddenly Intruding Plane, Zombie Commotion

After consuming the flesh of the Titan Python, which was saturated with Aberrant Radiation, the ordinary pigeons began to mutate.

A vicious glint appeared in their eyes.

Their flight speed and stamina skyrocketed.

The most outrageous part was that they seemed to be accumulating some kind of extremely unstable, frenzied energy within their bodies.

Their entire bodies became like little living powder kegs, brimming with aggression.

They spent all day fluttering about, trying to burst out of the farm to "do battle"!

If it weren’t for Chubbs and Tubbs, who suppressed them with their absolute power and superior bloodline...

...and forcibly confined these agitated, mutated pigeons to a specific area.

Seraphina felt that a civil war, "The Silenti versus the Mutated Pigeons," would have inevitably broken out on her Scavenger’s Farm.

Although the pigeons had become difficult to control and full of uncertainty...

...in Seraphina’s eyes, they had also completely transformed from "carrier pigeons" into potential "bombing units."

If she deployed them, this flock of "bomb-pigeons" could definitely cause astonishing destruction amidst a zombie horde.

This thought gave Seraphina a bit more confidence for the upcoming battles.

At that moment, Dustin Sullivan had already steered the conversation back to the most pressing issue.

He looked at Seraphina Sullivan and Sean Chandler and asked, "After you entered the instance, did you encounter or find any special zombies? On our way here, we haven’t found anything besides a shocking number of common ones."

Seraphina nodded, pointing toward the distant square below. "We ran into one. We took it down in that square not long ago. It was a Power-type variant."

"Was it tough? How threatening was it compared to a regular zombie?"

Dustin pressed for more information; this was the intel he was most concerned about.

"Tough. Definitely tough." Seraphina’s expression was serious.

"Its defense and Power were far greater than a normal zombie’s, and..."

She paused. "It seemed to have some low-level intelligence or tactical instinct. It knew to drive a large number of common zombies to surround and wear us down first, rather than just mindlessly charging in."

This information made the expressions of both Dustin and Julian Shaw grow grim.

An intelligent enemy is always harder to deal with than a powerful beast.

After hearing this, Julian Shaw found a relatively clean spot and, with a complete lack of decorum, flopped down on his back.

He gazed up at the false yet beautiful starry sky above.

He let out a long sigh. "Ugh... We have to survive in this hellhole for a month and kill more zombies than we can count, but we don’t even get any decent, immediate rewards. It’s so hard to get motivated. The system is way too cheap. It should at least toss us some experience points as a reward."

His complaint was tinged with exhaustion and helplessness, but it also spoke to the truth of their situation.

Long-term, high-pressure combat and survival challenges without periodic positive feedback would severely wear down a person’s will.

"Let’s grab some rest while it’s still relatively safe."

Dustin’s voice carried a hint of imperceptible exhaustion.

"I have a feeling that from now on, we’ll probably never have a truly peaceful moment again."

After speaking, he also found a corner sheltered from the wind, sat down with his back against the Wall, and closed his eyes.

His breathing soon became long and steady as he entered a state of efficient, light rest.

Seeing this, Julian Shaw, Trevor Tanner, and Coco Sullivan also found their own spots, sitting or leaning, to take advantage of this rare period of relative safety to recover their strength and stamina.

Seraphina and Sean Chandler, long accustomed to this rhythm, took turns keeping watch.

For a time, the only sounds on the rooftop were the whimpering of the night wind and the unending roars of distant zombies.

The night passed without incident, time slowly trickling by in a mixture of vigilance and exhaustion.

Just as the first hint of dawn appeared on the horizon, when the darkness before daybreak was at its thickest, everyone was waiting for the morning light that might bring a sliver of comfort.

"ROOOOAR—!!!"

A terrifying roar, completely different from any before—one filled with fury, agony, and a sense of destruction—suddenly tore through the sky from the far edge of the city, rolling towards them.

The sheer volume and violence of this roar far surpassed that of the Butcher Zombie Seraphina and the others had encountered earlier.

It even made the remaining glass on the top floor of the skyscraper hum and vibrate.

Accompanying the soul-shaking roar was the piercing shriek of air being torn apart.

Everyone—whether it was the lightly sleeping Dustin and Julian Shaw, the vigilant Seraphina and Sean Chandler, or even Flora Sullivan, who was "grinding quests" on the streets below—was jolted awake or snapped their heads up at the exact same moment!

"What was that sound?!" Trevor Tanner leaped to his feet, all traces of sleepiness gone.

"Over there!"

Coco Sullivan reacted the fastest, already rushing to the edge of the roof and pointing to the northeast.

The group immediately gathered and followed her gaze.

There, against the backdrop of the dim, pre-dawn sky, a massive, blazing behemoth was plummeting toward a district on the other side of the city. It trailed a long plume of billowing black smoke, like a falling star.

From its silhouette and burning fuselage, it was clearly a massive transport plane or airliner!

"Why... Why is a plane crashing?!"

Coco Sullivan’s mouth hung open as she stared in disbelief at the surreal scene.

’Does this Zombie Kingdom still have normal air traffic?’

’Where did this plane come from?’

’What’s on it?’

And that heart-stopping, terrifying roar was coming from inside the crashing plane.

It was as if some horrifying monster was trapped inside, letting out its final struggles and roars.

"BOOM—!!!"

A few seconds later, the burning plane slammed viciously into a cluster of buildings on the other side of the city.

Illuminating the entire sky over the city, far earlier and more blindingly than the coming dawn, was a scorching Fireball that erupted like a miniature sun.

A deafening blast wave followed, sweeping over them like a tangible shock wave.

Even from more than ten kilometers away, Seraphina and the others could feel a slight tremor in the building beneath their feet, and their eardrums were left ringing!

This earth-shattering explosion was like a giant boulder thrown into a stagnant pond, instantly shattering the "dead silence" of the entire city.

"Hrrgh—!"

"Roar—!"

"Urrggh—!"

The roars of countless zombies erupted simultaneously from the ruins in every corner of the city.

It was as if the immense sound and light had completely activated them, sending them into a state of collective Frenzy.

The zombies, which had been wandering aimlessly or hiding, now acted as if they had received a universal order to charge. Like a black tide, they surged madly toward the site of the explosion from all directions.

Their roars merged into a terrifying, scalp-numbing wave of sound. The entire city seemed to "come alive" in an instant.

But it did so in a completely frenzied and destructive way.

It wasn’t just Seraphina and her group.

All the Players who had managed to survive the first night, hidden in various corners of the city’s ruins, were startled by the sudden explosion and the strange behavior of the city-wide zombie horde.
