Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 351: Joy Hughes, Future Prediction
Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Joy Hughes, Future Prediction
Slaughter Art might be suppressed by the rules.
But Seraphina Sullivan was different. As a Divine Favored, she wouldn’t be suppressed by Slaughter Art.
They had already witnessed this Ability in Maxim’s Death Arena.
However, the current focus was still the rampaging Aggregation below.
"Move out!" Dustin Sullivan ordered in a low voice. The longsword on his back slid half an inch from its sheath with a clang, its blade humming, ready to strike.
Julian Shaw also began manipulating the Gravity Field, preparing to guide everyone to the best angle and timing for an attack.
At that moment, all the Players gathered there had temporarily reached a consensus.
First, they had to deal with this terrifying aggregated zombie!
However, what Seraphina Sullivan and the others didn’t know was that in other areas of this Zombie Kingdom, similar terrifying scenes were not isolated incidents.
On the other side of the city, near the edge of the former industrial district.
"Holy crap! What the hell is this thing! Victor Sharp! Your Shield better hold! If it gets any thinner, we’re all screwed!"
Nicholas Jensen desperately manipulated a dozen Mobile Dolls, forming a crossfire network. They frantically strafed the tide of zombies that swarmed toward them, seemingly guided by a single will. As he did, he yelled at a stocky young man in front of him who was holding up a heavy Energy Shield.
The young man, Victor Sharp, was drenched in sweat, gritting his teeth to maintain the Energy Shield, which was now covered in cracks.
He was blocking the Heavy Punch Strikes from a slightly smaller, yet equally monstrous, zombie Aggregation that was "assembling" right in front of them.
"I... I can’t hold on much longer! This thing’s Power is terrifying!"
He couldn’t defend against such a terrifying monster on his own.
Nearby, Brandon Barton’s eyes were bloodshot as he continuously activated his [Guaranteed Cutting Blade].
However, every time his attack severed a zombie’s neck, another would immediately take its place.
"Where did this giant thing even come from? How could a monster like this... this city-destroying beast, spawn in this instance!" he exclaimed in confusion.
On a relatively open plaza not far away.
A man with a calm expression, Gordon Chandler, held a strange scepter inlaid with a blue gem, directing several teammates to form a defensive line.
Behind him stood a girl with a unique aura, possessing long, snow-white hair and pure white pupils. Her face was pale, and her body trembled slightly as if under immense pressure.
Heath Summers stood close to the white-haired girl, a look of concern and determination on her face.
"Don’t be afraid, Joy. We’ll protect you. Mr. Chandler and Mr. Sharp are very strong!"
Joy Hughes, the white-haired girl, managed to force a smile.
Her voice was faint. "Thank you... Heath. I’m older than you, yet you’re the one comforting me..."
Joy Hughes knew that because of her special Talent, her body and mind were both fragile, making her a priority for the team to protect.
Heath Summers puffed out her chest with a sense of pride and responsibility.
"I’m strong, so of course I have to protect you! Besides, your Ability is incredibly important to Azure Star and all of us! We can’t let anything happen to you!"
Joy Hughes seemed about to say something, but her body suddenly convulsed, and she froze in place!
Her pure white pupils suddenly lost their focus.
In their place, a bottomless, spectral purple light swirled, filled with what looked like countless fleeting fragments of light and shadow!
Heath Summers’s expression changed.
She immediately understood what was happening.
Joy Hughes’s extremely rare but immensely taxing Talent, [Future Prediction], had inexplicably triggered at the worst possible time!
"Joy!" Heath Summers cried out, but she didn’t dare touch her.
Joy Hughes’s lips parted slightly, and she began to murmur unconsciously.
Her voice was ethereal and broken, as if relaying fragmented information from a distant time and space:
"Zombie... Kingdom... not just one... Virus... God... will descend... Divine... battlefield... the struggle... of the Favored... deathmatch... chaos, escape!"
Every word struck Heath Summers’s ears like a clap of thunder.
Yet they were too vague to form a complete picture.
"Mr. Chandler! Mr. Chandler! Get over here! Joy’s Ability activated! She’s... she’s saying some weird things I don’t understand!"
Heath Summers yelled desperately toward Gordon Chandler, who was directing the battle up ahead.
Her voice cracked with urgency.
Across the city, several "Large Group·Aggregations" were simultaneously "growing" in different locations, as if they were "disaster nodes" activated by the same invisible hand.
...
Back with Seraphina Sullivan’s group, the Players saw that their conventional attacks were having little effect.
They began to use all their tricks, trying to find the special Aggregation’s fatal Weaknesses.
In an instant, a magnificent spectacle unfolded as Flame storms, Frost novas, corrosive acid, high-voltage shocks, and Spirit Shocks—a dazzling array of Skills and items—exploded against the Aggregation’s massive body.
However, the Effect was still disheartening.
As long as the core of the Large Group remained intact, any limbs that were blasted apart, scorched, or frozen over were rapidly repaired. New zombies would simply swarm in to fill the gaps.
In fact, amid this tug-of-war between destruction and repair, the Aggregation’s size even showed signs of expanding.
Dustin Sullivan took a deep breath, and the longsword on his back let out a clear, high-pitched hum.
He formed a sword-hand gesture with his fingers, pointed at the Aggregation from afar, and uttered a single word in a low voice: "Giant!"
The longsword flew from its sheath in response, expanding rapidly in mid-air until it transformed into a giant blade over ten meters long, radiating a piercing, cold light! The blade’s flash, carrying an aura sharp enough to sever anything, brutally chopped down toward one of the Aggregation’s thick arms that had just finished forming!
SCHREEECH—!
With a grating tear, the giant sword lived up to the name "Little Sword Immortal."
It had cleanly severed the massive arm—forged from the bodies of several hundred zombies—at its base!
The severed arm crashed to the ground, kicking up a huge cloud of dust and debris.
However, before anyone could cheer, the Aggregation’s core let out an even shriller shriek, and the surrounding tide of corpses instantly grew more frantic.
Countless zombies threw themselves one after another at the stump of the arm, their limbs twisting and tangling together. In just a few breaths, a new, equally grotesque arm had "grown" back!
"It’s no use! As long as there are enough ordinary zombies around, it can regenerate infinitely!" Trevor Tanner shouted anxiously, his information coming from his Earth Perception.
In the distance, Solomon Ennis, who had been watching the fight all along, let out an undisguised sneer.
"Haha! Little Sword Immortal, your sword looks impressive, but it’s useless against this pile of junk! You cut it, it grows back. What a waste of effort!"
Dustin Sullivan’s expression didn’t change. He recalled his giant sword, ignoring the pointless taunt.
Julian Shaw, however, couldn’t help but retort, "If you’re so good, you do it! You’ve just been standing there watching the show, but you can’t do anything about it either, can you? If you’ve got the guts, go dismantle it yourself!"
Solomon Ennis’s Ability was indeed terrifying.
His [Titan Power] Talent granted him unimaginable Power and defense.
