Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 363: Vassal of the Fiend God, Acolyte of the God of Assassination
Chapter 363: Chapter 363: Vassal of the Fiend God, Acolyte of the God of Assassination
As a plant, Flora Sullivan’s perception could often detect distant movements far sooner than sight or ordinary senses.
Seraphina Sullivan’s heart tightened.
She quickly adjusted her position, taking cover behind a broken wall and looking in the direction Flora had indicated.
Five figures.
They were moving quickly in a tactical formation across a relatively open, ruined plaza.
They were heading straight for their area, their objective clear.
Evidently, the two lighthouse-like beams of light on their bodies had once again attracted Hunters.
’Just two more...’
’If I can just kill two more ordinary Players.’
’I’ll have my five kills and can get out of this hellhole.’
’Sean Chandler, on the other hand, still needs three.’
Seraphina calculated inwardly.
Her gaze swept over the five new "prey."
She assessed their strength and the threat they posed.
However, her pupils contracted abruptly when her eyes locked onto the two figures leading the group of five!
Two thick, conspicuous pillars of pure white light enveloped those two people!
They shimmered in response to the pillars of light on her and Sean Chandler.
They were especially glaring in the dim ruins!
"Divine Favored?!"
Seraphina gasped, her voice filled with shocked disbelief.
’Two of them, right off the bat?’
’Counting me and Sean Chandler, that makes four Players marked by the Divine gathered here in an instant!’
’The odds of this are just not normal!’
Sean Chandler had also seen the two pillars of light, and clear surprise showed on his resolute face.
"What’s going on? Are the Divine Favored... starting to show up in droves now?"
This clearly defied common sense.
Logically, Players favored by the Divine should be exceedingly rare.
They should be scattered across different worlds and dungeons, so how could their concentration suddenly be so high in this forcibly converted killing field?
Seraphina had thought that running into Solomon Ennis was surprising enough.
But now two more had appeared.
The ominous premonition in Seraphina’s heart grew stronger and stronger.
She recalled the strange, frenzied tone of the previous system announcement.
She recalled the God of Viruses’ "waste recycling" of Solomon Ennis’s corpse.
She recalled these "new rules" that completely contradicted the original purpose and blatantly encouraged Players to kill one another...
"I have a feeling... that this sudden battle royale, this forced marking and hunting of the Divine Favored..."
Seraphina’s voice was low, laced with a hint of coldness.
"This isn’t random or an accident. It feels more like... a premeditated purge or screening... specifically targeting us, the Divine Favored."
"What?" Sean Chandler’s brow furrowed. "Targeting the Divine Favored? Why?"
"I don’t know."
Seraphina shook her head, her gaze growing even more solemn.
"But my intuition tells me that the bigger problem might still be ahead.
The mastermind behind this ’game’ probably has a goal that’s more complex than just watching us kill each other for their amusement..."
She had a feeling this was the beginning of chaos.
Perhaps it was merely the prelude to a much larger, darker plan.
And they were like... Chess Pieces, deliberately placed together on a board, waiting to be harvested.
"Regardless, let’s figure out who we’re up against first."
Seraphina suppressed the unease in her heart.
She focused her mind, and a stream of faint blue data flashed across her eyes.
[Eye of Resume] activated.
Target locked: the five approaching Players, especially the two Divine Favored with the pillars of light above them!
A stream of information rapidly flooded her mind, which she quickly deciphered:

Two Divine Favored: one specializing in assassination, the other in Spirit Attacks.
The other three team members were also experienced, well-rounded Level 3 Players.
This was a strong, well-coordinated team.
They were clearly here for the most efficient way to return: "hunting Divine Favored"!
"This is trouble..." Seraphina’s gaze darkened.
The opposing team had come prepared, and their strength could not be underestimated.
Cecilia was particularly dangerous; mental abilities were often impossible to defend against in a chaotic battle.
"Boss, they’ve stopped. It looks like they’re observing and setting something up," Flora warned again.
In the distance,
after entering a relatively open area with a good line of sight, the five-person team did not advance rashly. Instead, they stopped.
Alvin’s eyes flickered with lightning as he scanned the directions where Seraphina and her group might be hiding.
Gru knelt on one knee, pressing his hands to the ground, seemingly performing some kind of detection or preparing a skill.
Cecilia stood in place, her lips moving slightly as if she were chanting something, and invisible psychic waves began to spread outwards.
They weren’t reckless fools charging to their deaths, but experienced Hunters.
Right now, they were setting a trap, preparing to draw Seraphina and Sean Chandler—two priceless targets—along with this entire area into the rhythm of their hunt.
Seraphina took a deep breath, tightening her grip on the [Universal Sniper Rifle] in her hands.
It seemed an unavoidable, difficult battle was about to begin.
And the outcome of this fight wasn’t just about whether she could get enough kills; it might also unveil the deeper mystery behind this "hunt for the Divine Favored."
She gently adjusted her breathing and whispered to Sean Chandler and Flora:
"Prepare for battle. Prioritize their support and control.
Flora, focus on disrupting the woman with the psychic abilities.
Sean Chandler, if the lightning guy charges, he’s yours."
The prelude to the slaughter quietly began to play once more across the ruins watched by the gods.
