Chapter 375: Chapter 375: Vehicle Upgrade Card

Sorrow weighed on everyone’s heart like a heavy stone.

But reality never gave anyone much time to react.

Amid the oppressive atmosphere,

a clear broadcast suddenly rang out over the safe zone.

The heavy and solemn voice of Director Wesley Moore boomed from the loudspeakers, reaching every corner of the Vorlag Safe Zone:

[Attention, all survivors! Attention, all survivors!]

[It has now been confirmed that the extreme low temperatures outside have temporarily receded. The arctic cataclysm has abated for now.]

[However, this is not the permanent end of the cataclysm!]

[According to confirmed intelligence, this is only a one-month grace period!] ℯ

[I repeat, we only have one month to prepare!]

[In order to concentrate our strength to the fullest and face the potentially more severe challenges of the future,]

[and to ensure the survival of more people, the Vorlag Safe Zone has decided to begin a strategic relocation of all personnel to the Central Base, starting tomorrow at dawn!]

[Across the country, all capable safe zones are undertaking similar actions, ultimately concentrating our strength at the center!]

[This is for survival. There is no other choice! We ask for your understanding and cooperation!]

[All survivors, you have one final day to rest and sort your personal belongings.]

[Please make sure to prepare the necessary supplies and await further specific instructions.]

[Players, please head to the designated assembly point to receive basic supplies and accept centralized command.]

[Let me emphasize again: this relocation is for our survival! Please maintain order and do not panic!]

When the broadcast ended, the safe zone first fell into a dead silence, which was then shattered by an even more complex uproar.

The ordinary survivors’ initial euphoria at the cataclysm’s end quickly cooled.

In its place came confusion, unease, and anxiety about the unknown journey.

They would be leaving the relatively familiar safe zone they had helped build, heading for the distant and unfamiliar Central Safe Zone, their future uncertain.

But the broadcast’s mention of a "one-month grace period" and "more severe challenges to come" filled them with a profound fear, as they knew staying behind might be even more dangerous.

The Players, meanwhile, were mostly weary and heavy-hearted.

They had just survived a life-or-death cataclysm.

Having lost so many comrades, they were exhausted in body and mind, their wounds still fresh.

Yet now they had to immediately set out on a long migration fraught with unknown dangers.

But they also understood the necessity of concentrating their strength.

They also understood the imminent pressure of that "one-month" deadline.

Grief would have to be set aside for now.

Survival was the only thing that mattered now.

"Our RV is in decent shape. The power and basic systems are still functional."

Seraphina Sullivan said in a low voice, returning to Sean Chandler’s side.

"It can serve as our mobile base and mode of transport during the evacuation."

Sean Chandler nodded, his gaze sweeping over the RV’s interior.

"Yeah. With the RV, we’ll be more flexible and relatively safe.

But I need to check its exact condition and restock on fuel and necessary parts."

"I’ll leave the upcoming arrangements to you, then.

I need to get some proper rest, and while I’m at it... check the compensation the system gave me, and see what’s going on with my own body."

Seraphina Sullivan rubbed her still-throbbing temples.

She felt some unusual changes happening inside her body that she needed to investigate carefully.

Sean Chandler nodded. He didn’t press for details, just replied calmly.

"Alright. You focus on resting. I’ll handle things out here."

Seraphina Sullivan returned to a relatively private space inside the RV, leaned back on the simple bunk, and closed her eyes.

First, she sank her consciousness into the system.

She located the [Compensation Treasure Box] that was emitting a soft, white light.

She didn’t have high hopes; after all, it was just "basic" compensation.

With a mental command, the Treasure Chest slowly opened, shimmering with a flow of light.

There was no dazzling array of items or resources inside, as one might expect.

Inside the Treasure Chest, a single card floated silently.

The card was a warm, distinguished shade of gold all over.

It had intricate dark patterns along its edges, with a simple icon of a vehicle’s silhouette in the center.

It emanated a peculiar wave of Energy, one that felt as if it could induce physical transformation.

[Name: Vehicle Evolution Card (Unique · Compensation-Exclusive)]

[Effect: Allows you to designate one vehicle that you own and have complete control over. Activating this card will subject the vehicle to a one-time, irreversible, deep, rules-based evolutionary transformation.

Upon completion of the Evolution, the vehicle will be fundamentally upgraded.

You must then choose one of the following three evolutionary paths to permanently apply:

1. Steel Fortress (Defensive Upgrade): The vehicle’s overall structural integrity and material properties will be drastically enhanced, allowing it to easily withstand conventional gunfire, artillery shrapnel, small-to-medium explosive blasts, and certain Energy Attacks.

The hull will gain superior physical and Energy resistance and will possess a limited self-repair Ability.

2. Folded Space (Spatial Upgrade): The vehicle’s interior Space is decoupled from its exterior physical dimensions, enhanced by stable Folded Space technology.

The actual usable interior Space is doubled relative to the original physical volume (length, width, and height are each expanded by a factor of ~1.26), and its spatial structure becomes more stable and efficient, allowing for easier partitioning and use.

3. Mobile Home (Cottage Upgrade): The vehicle’s interior undergoes a complete renovation focused on livability and comfort.

Based on current technological levels and resource limits, it will generate a full suite of functional furniture, basic appliances, and essential living facilities, making it a truly comfortable, convenient, and long-term "mobile home".

[Note: A compensation reward is a guaranteed high-quality item. Please choose your evolutionary path carefully, as the process is irreversible.]

’A Vehicle Evolution Card?’ A glimmer of pleasant surprise flashed in Seraphina Sullivan’s eyes.

Although the Treasure Chest had only yielded this single item,

in Seraphina’s opinion, its value far exceeded a pile of ordinary resources or equipment.

This was especially true given the potentially long and dangerous migration she and the rest of the safe zone were about to undertake.

The importance of a reinforced, reliable mobile vehicle was self-evident.

The RV Seraphina currently possessed was a good base model.

But it was still lacking when it came to facing the apocalypse’s treacherous roads, potential threats, and the need for long-term living.

This Vehicle Evolution Card was a true blessing in a time of need.

’With this, after upgrading the RV... its defense, Space, and comfort will all take a quantum leap!’

Seraphina was ecstatic.

This didn’t just mean a safer journey.

It also meant that she, Sean Chandler, and Flora Sullivan would have a more stable and autonomous home base, both before and after reaching the Central Safe Zone.

Seraphina’s gaze flickered between the three evolution options as she briefly weighed them.

’The Mobile Home upgrade is certainly tempting. It would greatly improve our quality of life during the long trek, essentially a comfortable, mobile Shelter... But the Folded Space upgrade is also good. Double the interior space means we could carry more supplies, which is of major strategic importance...’

But she quickly shook her head, her line of thinking clearing up.
