Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 384: Resurrection Stone
Chapter 384: Chapter 384: Resurrection Stone
What caught Seraphina Sullivan’s eye was a stone about the size of a thumb.
The stone was milky-white all over.
Inside, a nebula seemed to slowly swirl, emitting a gentle and holy aura.
When she saw the description, Seraphina Sullivan’s breath hitched.
[Resurrection Stone]
[Effect: Can be used on any living creature that has been dead for no more than one hour, whose body is relatively intact, and whose soul has not yet completely dispersed.
It can forcibly reverse local laws of time and life to resurrect the target.
After resurrection, the target will be in an extremely weakened state, but their vital signs will be complete and their memories will be intact.
[Note: Ineffective on those who have died of old age, whose souls have willingly dispersed, or who have been completely obliterated by a higher-level existence.]
After use, the Resurrection Stone will completely disintegrate.
[Remark: The miracle of life, even if it is but a faint glimmer of light.]
A Resurrection Stone!
True resurrection!
Although there were restrictions.
Dead for no more than an hour, body relatively intact.
And they couldn’t have died of old age or been completely annihilated by a higher-level existence.
But even so, this was a life-saving Divine Artifact that would drive any being to fight for it with frenzied desperation!
This was basically an extra life!
The moment she saw this item, Seraphina Sullivan’s mind went almost completely blank.
The [Planting Space], the [King’s Horn], the [Healing Blood Grape Seeds]... everything she had seen before was tossed to the back of her mind!
Resurrection!
This was the miracle that so many people in the apocalypse craved most, yet dared not hope for!
With this, when she next faced an overwhelming death threat like the Demon God Will, she would at least have a bit more confidence.
The kind of confidence to maneuver, to even take a risky gamble!
Not like last time, when faced with an absolute gap in Power, she was left with little more than despair, just waiting for death!
The Healing Blood Grape Seeds were important, of course.
But that was for "saving everyone."
The Resurrection Stone was for "saving myself"!
Under the cruel laws of the apocalypse, sometimes your own life is the foundation supporting everything else—the prerequisite for seizing any other opportunity.
Seraphina Sullivan didn’t hesitate.
Without even looking at any other items, Seraphina Sullivan pointed directly at the milky-white stone that was emitting an alluring shimmer.
She said to the Mystery Shopkeeper:
"I want that one. The Resurrection Stone."
The faint blue points of light under the cloak seemed to flicker, as if in surprise, yet also as if it was expected.
The androgynous Voice of the Soul sounded.
"Transaction item confirmed: [Resurrection Stone]. The deal is made."
As soon as the voice faded, the crystal display case opened silently. The Resurrection Stone floated out slowly and landed in Seraphina Sullivan’s already outstretched palm.
It was warm and smooth to the touch, as if a life was pulsing within it.
At the same time, she felt the last wisp of connection between herself and the now-vanished [Mysterious Store Coupon] sever completely.
"The transaction is complete. Esteemed customer, you are welcome to visit again."
The shopkeeper’s voice was still calm, but it now carried a clear intention to see her out.
However, Seraphina Sullivan, clutching the precious Resurrection Stone, did not leave immediately.
Her gaze swept over the faintly glowing items on the shelves again, especially the packet of [Healing Blood Grape Seeds].
The spreading illness in her group.
Her friend Dexter Luther’s fever.
The pained groans of her companions.
’She’d claimed the Resurrection Stone, but she wanted these Healing Seeds, too!’
Seraphina Sullivan gritted her teeth, looked at the Mystery Shopkeeper, and asked tentatively,
"Is it... really not possible to make another trade? My store coupon is used up, but... could I exchange something else for it?"
The Mystery Shopkeeper was silent for a moment. The faint blue points of light seemed to be scrutinizing Seraphina Sullivan.
Then, the Voice of the Soul sounded once more:
"You may."
Seraphina Sullivan’s heart leaped with joy!
But the shopkeeper’s next words were like a bucket of cold water poured over her:
"However, if you wish to trade for other items, you must offer something of equivalent quality and value in exchange.
Stardust Realm does not engage in losing trades, nor does it accept cheap goods for barter."
Seraphina Sullivan: "???"
’Equivalent quality and value?’
’Completely equivalent?’
’Quality and value?’
She instantly understood what the shopkeeper meant.
’This Mystery Shop’s "bartering" system... it isn’t a system where you can just pull out any old thing to trade.’
’You have to offer an item just as rare, just as precious, and "approved" by the shopkeeper as the [Healing Blood Grape Seeds], the [Planting Space], or the [King’s Horn]!’
’What do I have that could possibly reach that level?’
’I’m not even sure if they would deign to look at the items in my Space.’
After a moment’s thought, she took out the [Slave Whip] she had confiscated from Solomon Ennis.
She asked tentatively, "Can... this be exchanged?"
The cloaked figure’s gaze landed on the whip, lingering for about a second before they uttered a single, emotionless word:
"Garbage."
Seraphina Sullivan: "..."
’Alright, it seems this person has extremely high standards.’
’This whip, which seemed quite bizarre to me, is considered completely third-rate in their eyes.’
"While the things you possess are good, they do not meet the requirements for an exchange," the mysterious figure said.
The faint blue points of light seemed to see right through her thoughts, directly pointing out the crucial issue.
Seraphina Sullivan’s gaze couldn’t help but fall back on the packet of [Healing Blood Grape Seeds], which glittered like rubies.
The other items, whether it was the space-creating [Planting Space]
or the gambling-based [King’s Horn], held far less appeal for her now.
Only these seeds, capable of curing disease and saving lives, were what she needed most urgently right now!
The seeds represented hope.
They were the key to resolving the disease spreading through the group and saving many lives.
’I have the [Scavenger’s Farm].’
’I can definitely plant and cultivate them.’
’I could use them myself, and also share them with Wesley Moore, Justin Brooks, and the others to help the entire caravan—or even more people in the future—survive this crisis.’
’I have to find a way to trade for them!’
Seraphina Sullivan made up her mind.
Since the shopkeeper had said "bartering" was possible
and only required an item of equivalent value, then she just had to find something she possessed that they might deem acceptable.
She quickly took stock of her assets.
’My core Talent and bound equipment are obviously out of the question.’
’Ordinary loot and Energy Baryte probably aren’t valuable enough.’
Suddenly, she thought of the special produce from her [Scavenger’s Farm]!
Her consciousness sank into the farm space.
Her gaze fell upon an apple tree that was already lush with branches and leaves, laden with unripe, green fruit.
The Power Apple Tree!
Thanks to the effect of the speed-up card she had obtained earlier,
this fruit tree, grown from a special seed, had developed rapidly and already borne its first batch of fruit.
Each of these [Power Apples] contained a wondrous effect that could permanently increase the base Power of whoever ate it.
They were, in and of themselves, an extremely precious resource-type Spirit Fruit!
’Since [Healing Blood Grapes], as spirit plant seeds that can cure diseases, are highly valuable...’
’Then my special apples, which can permanently increase Power, are also extraordinary Spirit Fruits. They should have a considerable value, right?’
’Maybe... I can trade them?’
At this thought, Seraphina Sullivan no longer hesitated.
