Chapter 392: Chapter 392: Steward Madame Spider, Peaches

"A grand birthday banquet is being held for the esteemed Princess of the Peach Kingdom! No unauthorized entry!"

The frog guard on the left puffed out its cheeks and said sternly.

But its strange voice, combined with its comical appearance, greatly diminished any sense of authority.

Lamb seemed to have expected this.

He wasn’t flustered at all. Instead, he lifted his chin slightly.

He wore an expression that screamed, ’You blind fools.’

"Hey! Look closely! Do you know who I am?

I am the chief clothing designer, personally invited by His Majesty the King to design the Princess’s banquet gown!

Are you blocking me because you want the Princess to wear last year’s old dress to the banquet?

If you cause a delay in the Princess’s important affairs, can you bear the consequences?"

His tone was exaggerated, tinged with an artist’s arrogance, and he spoke with such conviction.

The two frog guards were clearly intimidated by his bluff.

Their bulging eyes glanced at each other, as if exchanging some silent message.

The guard on the right asked hesitantly, "Are... are you all here... for the banquet’s professional assessment?"

’Professional assessment?’

A thought struck Seraphina Sullivan and the others.

’This is a perfect fit for the first mission: to become a worker at the banquet.’

Lamb immediately nodded and shot a meaningful glance back at Seraphina Sullivan and the others.

Although no one knew what this sheep was up to, with a mission on the line, they had no choice but to play along.

Seraphina Sullivan, Vincent Vaughn, Clayton Quinn, Ironhide, and Joy Hughes all nodded in affirmation.

Seeing this, the two frog guards seemed to breathe a sigh of relief and retracted their Ice Sugar Spears.

"Alright, since you’re prospective employees here for the assessment, follow us."

The guard on the left said in a deep, muffled voice, turning to gesture for the group to follow.

"Remember, you must follow the rules in the castle. No running around, and absolutely no sneaking any food!"

It shot a pointed, warning glare at the group.

And so, led by these two bizarrely styled frog guards,

the group stepped onto the brilliant rainbow path of light.

The path had a perfect firmness when stepped on, giving the marvelous sensation of walking on Jell-O, yet it was exceptionally stable.

They passed through a massive castle gate made of chocolate bars and Sugar Frosting arches.

They had officially entered the fantastical dessert castle.

The interior was even more lavish than it appeared from the outside. The walls were made of marbled candy in various colors.

The floor resembled smooth toffee, and the air was filled with an even richer and more complex sweet fragrance.

In the distance, they could faintly hear the clearer sounds of cheerful music and bustling footsteps.

They were led to a relatively quiet, spacious, yet still luxuriously decorated hall in the castle’s wing.

"You all wait here. I’m going to report to Madame Spider.

She’s the supervisor in charge of assessing all the banquet employees."

After speaking, one of the frog guards hopped away.

Before long, a faint but peculiar sound reached them—a mixture of rustling silk and the tapping of something hard against the floor.

The group looked toward the sound and saw, emerging slowly from behind an ornate doorway on the other side of the hall, an... even more bizarre "existence."

It was a woman with a lovely face—one might even call it beautiful.

She had a mature charm, and her silver-white hair was impeccably styled.

An amethyst-studded hair ornament was pinned in her hair.

She wore a well-tailored, deep purple long dress embroidered with an intricate, dark spiderweb pattern.

However, her lower body... did not consist of two legs.

Instead, it was the massive, black, bristly abdomen and limbs of a spider, complete with eight sharp, jointed legs!

As her eight spider legs moved, they made a faint tapping sound, yet her contact with the floor was unnervingly stable.

She wore a gentle and appropriate smile as her gaze swept over the people in the hall.

It was as if she were sizing up the newly arrived banquet staff.

"Hello, future employees. Welcome to the beautiful Peach Kingdom."

Her voice was soft and pleasant, and it held a soothing Magic Power.

"I am the Palace Chief of the Peach Kingdom, as well as the general manager for this birthday banquet for the Princess. You may call me Madame Spider."

Although this Madame Spider appeared exceedingly kind and her smile was flawless,

Seraphina Sullivan felt an intense, instinctual sense of danger!

Without betraying any emotion, she immediately activated [Eye of Resume].

The information she received made her pupils contract slightly.

Although Seraphina Sullivan’s control over her expression was perfect, a tempest was raging in her heart.

[Name: Peaches]

[Gender: Female]

[Professional Skills:

1. Death Gaze: Her gaze contains fragments of the laws of death from the depths of the dreamscape. When a target is stared at by her continuously for more than three seconds, an instant-death judgment is triggered! Regardless of the target’s defenses, substitutes, or resistances, they will instantly "die."

2. Master Weaver: Excels in all skills related to "weaving," including but not limited to clothing, traps, lies, and even... fate.]

[Weaknesses:

Secret lover of King Peach: She maintains a long-term, secret relationship with the king of the Peach Kingdom. This is her greatest vulnerability and liability. As long as this information is relayed irrefutably to Queen Peach, Peaches will face devastating retaliation from the Queen, a fate from which she is almost certain to die.]

Seraphina Sullivan: "..." ’I feel like I’ve accidentally stumbled upon some major gossip!’

’The outwardly dignified and imposing Palace Chief is secretly the King’s lover?’

’And her abilities are so bizarre and terrifying.’

’It’s basically "stare at someone and they die."’

’This [Death Gaze] sounds like an unstoppable one-hit-kill Skill!’ 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

’But her Weaknesses are just as obvious.’

’I just have to avoid her continuous gaze for more than three seconds, or... use that "secret" as blackmail or a weapon.’

Madame Spider, Peaches, seemed not to have noticed Seraphina Sullivan’s inspection. She smiled and continued speaking.

"The Princess’s banquet is the highest-level celebration in the entire kingdom. Absolutely no mistakes will be tolerated.

Therefore, every employee serving at the banquet must pass a strict assessment to prove they possess the necessary value and Ability."

Her gaze slowly swept over each person.

Although she was smiling, deep in her eyes, it felt as if cold spider silk was coiling and assessing them.

"Now, please step forward one by one and show me your abilities.

Remember, the Princess’s banquet has no need for layabouts or liars."

She paused. Her smile remained, but the temperature in her voice dropped sharply, and an invisible chill seemed to fall over the entire hall.

"If you deceive me, or fail to meet the requirements... well, the consequences, I’m afraid, will not be pleasant."

Although she didn’t specify what the "consequences" were,

combined with her [Death Gaze] Ability and the backdrop of this bizarre, sweet, yet dangerous dream castle,

everyone could feel a threat that pierced them to the bone.

The assessment had officially begun.

Madame Spider, Peaches, fixed her scrutinizing, assessing gaze first on Lamb, who seemed both the most self-righteous and the most peculiar one present.
