Chapter 473: Chapter 473: The Dungeon Destroyer Again, and Connor Webb’s Action

’This again?’

Her mind instantly flashed back to the final moments of "Monster Apocalypse"—to the Players who had fought amongst themselves at the Shelter entrance before leaving without a second thought.

"You might not have run into ordinary, brainless Players."

She said in a low voice, "They’re Dungeon Destroyers."

"Dungeon Destroyers?" Dexter Luther and Crystal Lynn froze simultaneously.

It was the first time they had ever heard of such Players.

Seraphina Sullivan quickly summarized the information she had heard from Chet Lucius, as well as her own experiences during the Monster Apocalypse.

"...So they’re not stupid. They’re doing it on purpose."

They deliberately disrupt the dungeon’s order and provoke the monsters, all so they can harvest rare resources in the ensuing chaos.

Then they just up and leave, leaving everyone else to clean up the mess they made."

After hearing this, Dexter Luther slammed his fist into a nearby seat with a dull THUD.

"Damn it!" His eyes were red with rage.

"If I ever run into those bastards again, I swear I’ll kill them!"

Crystal Lynn also wore a complicated expression. "How could... How could people do something like that? Why would the system allow people like them to exist?"

Seraphina Sullivan didn’t answer.

She couldn’t answer.

The system’s rules were never designed for fairness or kindness.

「...」

Under Seraphina Sullivan’s continuous Healing, the gruesome wound on Matthew Dawson’s back finally stopped bleeding and began to close.

Although his face was still pale, his breathing had stabilized. He no longer looked like he could stop breathing at any moment.

"Cough, cough... Thank you, Sullivan..." Matthew Dawson said weakly, forcing a smile.

"I... I owe you my life again."

"Save your breath. Just lie still." Seraphina Sullivan pulled her hand back and stood up.

"The wound needs time to heal. Don’t move around tonight."

Matthew Dawson nodded and closed his eyes to rest.

It was only then that everyone belatedly realized something.

The RV was a lot more crowded.

Dexter Luther, Crystal Lynn, Matthew Dawson, Paul Payne, plus Seraphina Sullivan, Flora Sullivan, and Sean Chandler—all seven of them were squeezed into a space that originally belonged to just Seraphina’s group of three.

Fortunately, the upgraded and modified RV was much more spacious on the inside than it appeared from the outside.

It wasn’t luxurious, but there was more than enough room for seven or eight people to rest and chat.

Dexter Luther looked around, scratching his head in embarrassment. "Sullivan, today... I don’t think we can get back to the underground area."

"The main gate is closed, and it won’t open again until tomorrow night. Could we..."

"Whatever." Seraphina Sullivan leaned back against a nearby seat. "Stay if you want. Just don’t break the vehicle."

Dexter Luther breathed a sigh of relief and chuckled.

Paul Payne was also standing to the side, looking a bit reserved.

He had only come to deliver intelligence and receive the Power, but he hadn’t expected to run into so many people.

Now he was stuck, not sure if he should leave or stay, just standing there at a loss.

"You should sit down too." Seraphina Sullivan glanced at him. "It’s sixty or seventy degrees out there. You want to go out and turn into a human jerky?"

Paul Payne paused for a moment, then quietly found a corner to sit in.

Flora Sullivan enthusiastically handed out marshmallows to everyone.

The few sticks she had toasted earlier weren’t nearly enough to go around, so she toasted a whole new batch.

As everyone ate the sweet marshmallows, Paul Payne talked about how he’d risked his life gathering intelligence for revenge, and Dexter Luther’s fists tightened once again.

And when Seraphina Sullivan mentioned that Connor Webb had his sights on her, and had even made a deal with some high-ranking official at Central Base—

"What?!" Dexter Luther shot to his feet. "Sullivan, someone’s coming after you?!"

"Sit down." Seraphina Sullivan didn’t even raise her eyelids.

Dexter Luther sat back down reluctantly, unable to hide the fury on his face. "Sullivan, we’ll deal with him together!"

"That Connor Webb guy, and that high-ranking official!"

"How dare they target you!"

Crystal Lynn nodded as well, her tone soft but firm. "Sullivan has saved us so many times. It’s our turn to help her."

Lying in the corner, Matthew Dawson weakly raised his hand. "Count... count me in..."

Paul Payne looked from one person to another, fell silent for a moment, and then said in a low voice, "I’ll... help too."

Seraphina Sullivan glanced at him but said nothing.

Dexter Luther was still fuming. "This Central Base is a total mess!"

"What a joke!"

"It’s not even as good as our Vorlag Safe Zone!"

"Our place might be small, but at least we don’t have all this crazy crap going on!"

"But here? You’ve got high-level factions, rich brats running wild, and now even Sullivan is a target!"

The more he spoke, the angrier he got, finally concluding:

"This place is no fucking place for a human being!"

Flora Sullivan, who had been nibbling on her marshmallow, looked up and added very seriously:

"Totally."

After a brief silence in the RV, someone let out a chuckle.

Then, more laughter followed.

Outside was the hellish sixty-to-seventy-degree heat, the complex and chaotic Central Base, and the predatory Connor Webb with his unknown high-ranking backer.

But at least for this moment, inside this little RV, there was a group of people willing to protect each other.

「...」

Meanwhile, in the underground area of Central Base, another plot against Seraphina Sullivan was quietly brewing.

Inside a luxuriously decorated private residence, a bare-chested Connor Webb sat on a plush sofa.

Beside him, two attractive women were carefully massaging his shoulders and arms, their movements as gentle as if they were handling fragile porcelain.

But his expression was so dark it could have dripped ink.

"Damn it!"

He slammed his fist on the coffee table, making the teacups on it jump.

The two women flinched but dared not make a sound.

"I lost another substitute death in this dungeon!"

Connor Webb gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with a mixture of anger and lingering fear.

The difficulty of that damn dungeon had suddenly skyrocketed. If one of his "wives" hadn’t taken the fatal blow for him, he’d be a corpse right now.

"No... I need to find a replacement as soon as possible."

His eyes glinted as a figure appeared in his mind.

The woman with the Healing Skill.

The one named Seraphina Sullivan.

She was beautiful, her Ability was rare, and—she didn’t seem that hard to deal with.

"As long as I can make her my ’wife’," he licked his lips, a greedy light flashing in his eyes, "I’ll not only get an extra life, but also a mobile healing station. Going into dungeons will be much safer after that."

He stood up, walked to the window, and looked out in the direction of the surface.

Unfortunately, with the extreme temperature disaster raging, the gate to the underground area was sealed shut. He couldn’t get out.

"Just one more day," he murmured. "Tomorrow, when the gate opens, I’ll go pay a visit to that little beauty..."

「...」

Meanwhile, in another heavily guarded and even more exquisitely decorated high-rise residential area, the atmosphere was just as oppressive.

Megan Soto sat on the living room sofa, her eyes red and swollen, her face a mask of undisguised anxiety and rage.

In front of her, a stern-faced, middle-aged man in a crisp uniform was frowning as he listened to her incessant, tearful complaints.
