Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 495: Lord’s Sanctuary Token
Chapter 495: Chapter 495: Lord’s Sanctuary Token
Brandon Barton recognized Seraphina Sullivan and her group as well.
"I didn’t expect it to be them." A complex smile touched his lips.
Heath Summers nodded without saying much, but his gaze lingered on Seraphina Sullivan for a long time.
’Seraphina Sullivan’s Ability is a bit strange,’ he thought. ’Isn’t she a Healing System Player?’
...
On the battlefield, Dexter Luther wasn’t idle either.
He pushed his hands forward, conjuring one special [Shield] after another, precisely placing them between Sean Chandler and the Raging Cat Demon.
Whenever the Cat Demon’s sharp claws or Flame were about to injure the great bear, a Shield would appear at just the right moment to block the attack.
The two worked in perfect sync, a combat instinct clearly honed over a long period.
Meanwhile, Seraphina Sullivan had already raised her gun again.
She calmly observed the battlefield.
Sean Chandler, in his great bear form, had the Raging Cat Demon completely entangled, preventing it from getting distracted and dodging.
Dexter Luther’s Shields, in turn, blocked the most fatal counterattacks aimed at the bear.
’A perfect opportunity.’
Seraphina Sullivan’s eyes narrowed as she made a slight adjustment to her aim.
This time, as she pulled the trigger, she chanted inwardly—
[Magic Scissors]
What shot from the muzzle was no longer an invisible Space Bullet, but a streak of silvery light.
The light rapidly coalesced in mid-air, forming the phantom of a pair of enormous scissors shimmering with a magical glow!
The scissors opened, their sharp blades aimed at the Raging Cat Demon.
As if their minds were linked, Sean Chandler’s great bear suddenly exerted its strength, pinning the Raging Cat Demon to the ground and exposing the neck that had already been heavily wounded by a Space Bullet.
The scissors fell.
"SNIP—"
The crisp sound of shearing echoed across the entire battlefield.
The massive head of the Cat Demon, formed from pure Flame, was snipped in two!
The Flame instantly disintegrated, scattering into a sky full of sparks.
The Raging Cat Demon’s enormous body crashed to the ground. The flames gradually died down, revealing a charred, physical corpse.
—
In Seraphina Sullivan’s mind, the system’s cold notification tone sounded:
[Congratulations, you have successfully killed the Lord Level Monster: Raging Cat Demon]
[You have obtained the Lord Level item: Shelter Token]
[This item can be bound. Upon binding, you will obtain a Lord’s Sanctuary.]
She lowered her gun, her gaze falling on the monster’s corpse as it gradually dissipated.
After the flames completely died out, only a palm-sized token remained on the ground. It was crimson red all over, engraved with a lifelike image of a Cat Demon, and a faint fiery light seemed to flow across its surface.
A Lord Level Shelter token.
Seraphina Sullivan walked toward the token, and at that moment, all eyes were gathered on her.
There was shock, apprehension, resentment, and also admiration.
But she paid them no mind.
She simply bent down, picked up the token, and held it in her palm.
A warm sensation spread through her hand.
This round, she had won.
"Awesome, we killed the Raging Cat Demon!"
Dexter Luther was the first to rush to Seraphina Sullivan’s side, his face beaming with irrepressible excitement. His eyes sparkled as he stared at the token in her hand. "Sullivan, you’re just too amazing! That shot was absolutely incredible, a one-hit kill!"
Sean Chandler had also returned to his human form by now. The fur receded, and he was once again the taciturn man.
He rolled his shoulders and said in a low voice, "Good teamwork."
Dexter immediately sidled up and clapped him on the shoulder. "Right, right, Sean was fierce too! You had that giant cat pinned to the ground and just wiped the floor with it, hahaha!"
Crystal Lynn walked over, a slightly embarrassed smile on her face. "I feel like I wasn’t much help..."
Matthew Dawson, following behind her, immediately nodded in agreement. "Same here. When your teammates are too strong, you just end up as a spectator." His tone was teasing, but he wasn’t truly discouraged—having strong teammates was a good thing.
Seraphina Sullivan glanced at them, a slight curve gracing her lips. "Everyone played their part. There’s no need to say that."
In contrast to the relaxed and joyful mood on Seraphina Sullivan’s side, the atmosphere elsewhere on the battlefield was not nearly as pleasant.
Especially for Eugene Jensen.
He clutched the stump of his severed arm, his face terrifyingly pale, but his eyes burned with an almost manic fury.
He stared at the crimson token in Seraphina Sullivan’s hand, grinding his teeth so hard they audibly clicked.
"That reward should be mine!"
He suddenly let out a roar and charged forward, his remaining hand reaching straight for the token in Seraphina Sullivan’s grasp!
"I lost so many brothers! I even lost an arm! That reward should be given to me!"
He was fast, but someone else was faster.
Just as his fingertips were about to touch the token.
Countless strands of long hair, transforming into vines, shot out from the side like a swarm of living snakes. They instantly wrapped around his wrist, arm, and shoulder, binding him completely!
Flora Sullivan stood impassively beside Seraphina Sullivan, her vine-like hair dancing in the air like a waterfall.
Its ends were coiled tightly around Eugene Jensen.
With a gentle flick, she sent Eugene Jensen flying like a sack of rags, and he crashed heavily into the ruins several meters away.
"What do you mean, ’it should be yours’?"
Flora Sullivan’s voice wasn’t loud, but every word was piercingly clear.
She looked down on the pathetic Eugene Jensen as he struggled to get up, her eyes devoid of any warmth.
"The monster was right there. You wanted to kill it, so who stopped you? Why didn’t you kill it? *Could* you kill it?"
Eugene Jensen struggled to stand, but Flora Sullivan’s hair wrapped around his ankle again, yanking him back to the ground.
"Now that my sister killed it, you come running out claiming you suffered heavy losses?"
A cold smirk appeared on Flora Sullivan’s lips. "Whose fault is it that your brothers died?
"You were the one who failed to see the true nature of that Flame. You were the one who led them to their deaths.
"What, you expect someone else to pay for your mistake?"
Eugene Jensen’s face turned a ghastly mix of green and white. His lips trembled as he tried to retort, but he couldn’t utter a single word.
Flora Sullivan’s hair released him and retracted to her side, but her eyes remained full of scorn.
"And another thing. You survived losing an arm. You should be grateful that our arrival saved you. You should be thankful.
"If you keep throwing a tantrum here, it might not be just an arm you lose next time."
Eugene Jensen stumbled back two steps. The excruciating pain from his severed arm finally overwhelmed his fury and greed.
The rage was so intense his vision went black, and he collapsed, falling unconscious.
Flora Sullivan withdrew her gaze and snorted, "Useless."
Dexter Luther silently gave her a thumbs-up from the side. "Flora, your tongue is getting sharper and sharper."
Flora Sullivan shot him a sidelong glance. "It’s from practicing on you. You’re just asking to be cussed out all the time."
Dexter Luther: "...?"
Crystal Lynn covered her mouth, trying to stifle a giggle.
A figure crossed the battlefield, walking toward them.
Brandon Barton’s stride was unhurried, with Heath Summers and Vincent Sharp following behind him.
He stopped a few steps away from Seraphina Sullivan. His gaze swept over the unconscious Eugene Jensen on the ground, and he raised an eyebrow slightly before turning to Seraphina Sullivan with a polite smile.
"Miss Sullivan, Mr. Chandler."
He first nodded to Seraphina Sullivan in acknowledgment, then looked at Sean Chandler, his tone carrying a note of courtesy.
Seraphina Sullivan looked up at him, a faint smile also appearing on her lips, but it didn’t reach her eyes. "Captain Barton."
