Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood
Chapter 517: Kill Yourself
Chapter 517: Chapter 517: Kill Yourself
Finally, it was Kyle Kane’s turn.
His eyes shot open!
Earthquake Perception gave him a keen awareness of his surroundings. No subtle anomaly could escape his senses.
The fragrance that had suddenly appeared, though sweet, carried an unsettling Aura—
But it was too late.
He had already inhaled a breath of the scent.
For a split second, his gaze lost focus.
But he was an Awakener, after all. His willpower was far stronger than that of an ordinary person.
He bit down hard on the tip of his tongue, and the sharp pain snapped him back to his senses for a second!
"There’s—"
He opened his mouth to shout, wanting to warn his men.
But in that same second, countless strands of black hair shot out from the darkness like living vipers!
Flora Sullivan’s long hair instantly wrapped around Kyle Kane’s mouth and limbs, binding him tightly so he couldn’t move an inch!
Kyle Kane’s eyes widened. Muffled, guttural sounds escaped his throat, but he couldn’t utter a single word.
At the same time, Crystal Lynn made her move.
Beau, the White Jade Snake, shot out from her arms with astonishing speed.
It opened its mouth, revealing its eerily gleaming Poisonous Fang—
Petrification Tooth activated!
The hunting party members, who had just been affected by the Sweet Fragrance and hadn’t had time to react, were bitten by Beau one by one.
Their bodies began to stiffen at the bite marks. Their skin turned a grayish-white, their muscles lost all elasticity, and their joints locked up—
In the blink of an eye, seven or eight people had turned into stone statues, frozen in the cave in sitting or lying positions.
A few of the faster ones sensed something was wrong and tried to fight back.
But just as they raised their weapons, Flora Sullivan’s hair was upon them.
The strands of hair, like the toughest ropes, coiled around their wrists and necks, slamming them brutally to the ground.
"MMPH—MMPH—"
"GURGLE—GURGLE—"
Within a few breaths, all twenty-plus members of the hunting party had been subdued.
The only ones left were Kyle Kane and the man with glasses.
The man’s glasses had been sent flying by Flora Sullivan’s hair at the very beginning.
He stared in terror, eyes wide, at his petrified companions and his men who were bound and helpless in the strands of hair. He trembled all over.
He wanted to resist, too.
But he had just taken two deep breaths of the Sweet Fragrance.
Now, his vision was starting to blur, and his body was going limp.
—
Seraphina Sullivan stood up and walked over to Kyle Kane.
Flora Sullivan loosened the hair around his mouth, but the other strands remained tightly bound around his limbs.
Kyle Kane gasped for air, his eyes fixed on Seraphina Sullivan, filled with disbelief.
"You... How did you know...!"
Seraphina Sullivan didn’t answer his question. Instead, she knelt and looked directly into his terrified eyes.
The Control Effect of the Sweet Fragrance was still active. Although Kyle Kane’s willpower was stronger than an ordinary person’s, after repeatedly inhaling the scent, he could no longer resist its mental erosion.
His gaze gradually turned vacant.
Seraphina spoke, her voice calm yet carrying an undeniable authority:
"What were you planning to do to us?"
Kyle Kane’s eyes were empty as he answered robotically, "Sacrifice you... to the great Ancestral Witch... That way, we could obtain the Blood of Awakening... and let more people... become Awakeners..."
"Who is the Ancestral Witch?" Crystal Lynn pressed from the side.
"The Ancestral Witch... is a great man..." Kyle Kane’s voice was like someone talking in their sleep. "It was him... and his friends... who killed the Demon God..."
Crystal Lynn gasped.
Seraphina’s expression grew even colder.
"Keep talking," she commanded.
It was as if a floodgate had opened. Kyle Kane began to spill the long-hidden truth.
After the Demon God became a God, he used his Divine Power to protect the world, cutting it off from the System’s continued invasion.
Peace returned to the world. People could live without fear, no longer worrying about disasters striking.
But some were not satisfied.
They wanted Power. They wanted to have special Abilities like the Players.
They refused to be mere mortals, refused to be "the weak who were protected" under the Demon God’s radiant light.
And so, a conspiracy was born.
They found the Demon God’s Weaknesses—his wife and child.
Those ordinary people used the Demon God’s family as bait and laid a trap.
To save his family, the Demon God fell into their trap.
And then—
Deicide.
"The Ancestral Witch... was one of the leaders in that deicidal war..." Kyle Kane said numbly. "He and a few of his friends... devoured the Demon God’s flesh and blood... obtained the God’s Power... and became the strongest Awakeners..."
"What about the Demon God’s wife and child?" Flora asked.
"Dead... They’re all dead..." Kyle Kane said. "After the Demon God died, his Power went out of control... The ones who ate the Divine Flesh... they... his family’s bodies as well..."
He didn’t finish, but everyone understood.
Seraphina closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
When she opened them again, her gaze held nothing but ice-cold killing intent.
Crystal Lynn could no longer contain herself. She rushed up to Kyle Kane and spat viciously.
"You all deserve to die!"
Her voice trembled with both fury and sorrow.
"The Demon God protected you! He saved you from the agony of disasters!
He let you live safe and stable lives! And what was the result?
Just because you coveted Power, just because you couldn’t stand being ordinary people, you killed your own Guardian God?!"
"What right do you have to live?!"
Kyle Kane stared at her blankly, seemingly unable to comprehend her anger.
In his mind, it was only natural.
’To gain Power, to become stronger, what’s the big deal about killing a God?’
Seraphina stood up, no longer looking at him.
She was angry, of course, but she also felt it was a great injustice to the so-called Demon God.
He had put his heart into saving the world, only for his family to be treated this way.
Looking at Kyle Kane, she calmly raised her hand and gave the command.
"Kill yourself."
A flicker of struggle appeared in Kyle Kane’s eyes, but it was quickly suppressed by the Control of the Sweet Fragrance.
He numbly raised his hand and picked up his weapon—
SQUELCH.
Blood splattered.
Kyle Kane’s body slumped to the ground.
Without a single glance, Seraphina turned and walked toward the controlled members of the hunting party.
The same command, the same outcome.
One by one, the Awakeners, the traitors, the villains who were still plotting to sacrifice others for Power, all fell into pools of their own blood.
The man with the glasses was the last one.
He was slumped on the ground, tears and snot streaming down his face, begging for mercy with mumbled words:
"Spare me... Spare me... I... I was forced... I didn’t want to..."
Seraphina looked at him, her gaze serene.
"Whether you were forced or not, what does that have to do with me?"
She turned and walked away.
Behind her, a dull thud echoed.
—
The cave fell silent once more.
The Native People were still deep in sleep, completely unaware of what had just happened.
The lingering scent of the Sweet Fragrance made them sleep even more soundly, and their lives would soon fade away forever.
These people were in on the plan. They were all on the side of the God Slayers, all of them wanting to obtain Power.
Crystal Lynn recalled Beau and walked to Seraphina’s side.
Her face was still a little pale, but her eyes were firm.
"Seraphina, where do we go now?"
