Chapter 36: The Simp Finally Fights Back
Olivia University, Women’s Dormitory
"Olivia, your phone’s ringing!"
A stout girl with a broad, sturdy build shouted toward the bathroom.
Olivia was in the shower, the rushing water drowning out the noise from outside.
Hearing Ivy’s voice, she called back, "I’m showering! Can you see who’s calling?"
The reason Olivia was showering in the middle of the day was that she had just returned from a "session" with her mentor, Professor Malcolm Whitlock.
The moment she pictured Malcolm’s large, fleshy face and heavyset body, a wave of nausea rolled through her stomach.
God, men are disgusting. Fat, ugly, and sweaty. If I didn’t need that research paper to secure my future, someone like Malcolm Whitlock wouldn’t even be worthy of touching me.
Olivia gritted her teeth as she grabbed a shower brush and scrubbed herself beneath the hot water, rubbing her skin until it turned red.
If it weren’t for her excellent acting skills, she would have thrown up during her "session" with Malcolm earlier.
Just thinking about him made her feel sick.
That old man is pathetic. He’s short, and he barely lasts.
Even though she hadn’t felt anything, she had still been forced to put on a convincing performance.
Men are all disgusting. They have money and power, and they think that gives them the right to control everything. When will someone like me finally be able to stand on my own?
To hell with all of them.
Olivia scrubbed herself even harder.
Once I’ve squeezed every last bit of value out of Malcolm, I’ll dump him without hesitation.
Just like I dumped my ex-boyfriend, Jason .
A cold smile appeared at the corner of her lips.
There was one more thing she planned to take care of afterward.
She intended to undergo reconstructive surgery so she could restore her virginity.
In her mind, men placed far too much importance on that.
When Olivia was eighteen, a young man had tricked her into going to a rundown house, where she lost her virginity.
Later, she’d borrowed several thousand dollars from her brother to pay for the procedure. That was how she’d managed to convince Malcolm that she was innocent and inexperienced, making it easy for him to become completely infatuated with her.
"Olivia, the caller ID says ’Simp No. 10.’ Should I bring your phone to you?"
Ivy’s voice came from outside, interrupting Olivia’s thoughts.
Olivia frowned, irritation flashing across her face.
"Ivy, don’t bother. I’m showering right now. I don’t have time to deal with it."
"Okay!"
Simp No. 10?
Wasn’t that Jason ’s number?
Why was that loser calling her again?
God, how annoying.
Olivia clenched her teeth.
These ordinary men are always so ridiculously confident. What makes them think they have a chance?
She used to believe in pure love.
But after spending more time online and discovering a whole new world of women encouraging each other to put themselves first, she had supposedly "woken up."
Once she realized Jason was broke and had no ambition, she’d dumped him without hesitation.
Before walking away, she’d even taken $50,000 from him as "compensation" for the years she’d spent with him.
He even claimed his mother was sick. What a joke.
He actually made up something like that just to get a few thousand dollars out of me. I knew I wasn’t wrong about him. What kind of future could a man like that possibly offer me?
And even if his mother really was sick, what does that have to do with me?
Olivia scoffed, her expression full of contempt.
Thirty minutes later, she finally managed to calm her nausea and stepped out of the bathroom.
She glanced at her phone.
Jason hadn’t called again.
Tsk. At least he finally knows when to give up.
Before she could finish the thought, her phone rang again.
Jason.
"Damn it! What is wrong with this guy? How many times do I have to tell him to leave me alone?"
The anger rising inside her brought back the humiliation of that morning, when she’d been forced to endure Malcolm’s advances. Her temper exploded.
She answered the phone and immediately launched into a tirade before Jason could say a word.
"Jason , do you not understand English? We broke up. Can you stop bothering me? If you keep this up, I’ll report you for harassment!"
"Don’t you have any self-respect? You’re broke, you have nothing going for you, and you still think you can chase after me? Which one of my other suitors isn’t richer than you?"
"This is your last warning. If you keep bothering me, I’ll have my brother, Tom Hayes, deal with you."
On the other end of the line, Jason listened to her familiar voice.
Then he suddenly laughed.
"You miserable bitch, why don’t you go look in a mirror? With a face like yours, who the hell would be interested in you?"
Olivia froze.
Her eyes widened as she stared at the caller ID in disbelief.
Simp No. 10.
There was no mistake.
This was her pathetic, obedient ex-boyfriend, Jason .
But why did he suddenly sound like a completely different person?
"You just insulted me?"
Olivia could hardly believe what she’d heard.
In her memory, Jason had always obeyed her. Even after their breakup, he’d kept begging her to take him back.
He’d been the definition of a simp.
So what had happened today?
Had the simp finally grown a backbone?
"Yes," Jason replied with a chuckle. "I’m insulting you, you miserable bitch."
If this had happened before, those words would have infuriated him.
Now, however, Jason was completely calm.
He even found the situation amusing.
His life had already changed. He was no longer beneath Olivia.
And more importantly, he now had enough evidence to destroy her.
There was a saying for people like her:
When you’re weak, even your anger becomes something other people can laugh at.
"You! How dare you talk to me like that? Are you insane?"
Olivia’s face flushed with fury.
She couldn’t understand how Jason, who used to obey her every command, could suddenly become so bold.
"Enough bullshit," Jason said. "I’m calling you today to give you one final chance. Return my money."
"What money? That was my compensation for the time I wasted on you!"
Olivia said it as though it were the most obvious thing in the world.
Jason let out a cold laugh.
"Do you really think you’re that damn special?"
He’d known she wouldn’t willingly return the money.
Fortunately, he’d planned ahead and hired a private investigator to gather evidence.
"I’m a woman," Olivia snapped. "My time and youth are valuable. Do you think I’m the same as you? Some worthless man?"
She sneered.
"What? No excuses this time? Last time, you said your mother was seriously ill. Why aren’t you bringing that up now?"
Her voice turned cruel.
"Did your wish finally come true? Is your mother dead?"
Jason’s expression slowly turned cold.
The malicious words coming through the phone had crossed a line.
Olivia hadn’t merely touched his deepest wound.
She had stomped on it repeatedly.
Destroying Olivia alone suddenly didn’t feel like enough.
He thought about her family.
Her mother, who ran a small tea shop.
Her brother, Tom Hayes, who was married to Elena Hayes.
Her younger brother, who had never amounted to much.
And her father, who spent most of his days drinking.
Jason wanted every one of them to pay.
"You really don’t know when to stop, do you?"
Jason’s voice became icy.
Then he said only two words:
"Malcolm Whitlock."
The moment Olivia heard the name, panic exploded across her face.
A dozen terrifying possibilities flashed through her mind.
How does he know?
"What... what are you talking about? I don’t know anyone by that name."
Her face went pale, and her body began trembling uncontrollably.
Jason didn’t bother arguing.
"I’m in the garden behind your dorm right now. You have one minute to come outside."
His voice was calm.
"I won’t wait if you’re late."
He hung up.
Jason lowered his phone and began thinking about how he could use the resources now at his disposal to completely dismantle Olivia’s family.
A cold, ruthless smile slowly appeared at the corner of his mouth.
