Chapter 729: Chapter 729 - The end of my third immersion

My last immersion for the Academe of Gnosis was supposed to be three months long, spanning the entirety of the last semester before graduation. From the start, I carefully calculated and planned the length of time I will stay in each place so I will end up with extra time to myself. I have tons of things that I wanted to do before the short semestral break and eventually, my most-awaited graduation.

Right now, I have only used up 9 weeks out of the 12 weeks I was given to finish everything. Previously, to save even more time, I sent all the immersion paperwork every few days to show my progress and to avoid having to go back to Hoffen City once I finished all my tasks.

As I finished my job in the Fortress City of Borg, I started packing up my things and saying goodbye to the rowdy members of Wrath. I honestly told Yren that I won’t be going back to Hoffen City just yet since I have other places that I needed to visit. He immediately understood what I meant and just nodded.

I offered to bring him back to Hoffen City first to avoid the unnecessary hassle of traveling by carriage for many days. He refused as he said that he plans to spend more time with his father for now but I can just pick him up once I was done with my personal errands. I smiled at Yren and gave him a tight hug to silently tell him that I understood his reasons for staying. He is the only one that grew up without a father out of their bunch so I understood his feelings clearly.

Our goodbyes were short since he looked like he was about to cry so I opted to teleport out of the Fortress City of Borg to go straight to my palace grounds in Eieneos. Once there, I teleported again to the World Tree Realm then inside Laerad’s personal space where our little hut was.

When I got inside the hut, I just knew immediately that he was spending his time in the gazebo again. I quickly made my way out to the garden and then towards the lake area where the gazebo was. There, I saw him reading some documents looking very busy but there was a certain calmness on his face. He was busy, pregnant but still happy and contented.

I teleported behind him just when he looked up to look my way. I saw the surprise in his eyes when he seemingly realized my presence somewhere in his personal realm. He stood up in a hurry then looked around the area but he could not find me. His eyebrows creased, showing confusion as to why I visited the realm but did not show up or talk to him.

Just when he looked like he was about to pout and grumble, I hugged him from behind, resting my hand on his stomach. I buried my face on the crook of his neck and sniffed that refreshing fragrance of my favorite tree. I heard him gasp then mutter, "You..."

He quickly grabbed my wrists to loosen them from his body a bit then turned around to hug me back. I hugged his waist tightly, not saying anything for the time being. I then heard him ask, "When did you come back? Is the immersion done?"

I snuggled and rubbed my face in front of his robe and answered, "I just finished today and came right back to you for a much needed recharge." I heard Laerad’s deep laughter through his chest as he said, "You are sniffing me like you have gone crazy again. And I’m not your charger. Hmm... Are you saying that I was the one you visited first?"

I nodded my head, rubbing my face on his robes again. In response, he placed a kiss on top of my head and hugged me tighter. He then responded in his usual manner, "At least you have a conscience after making me hurry in finishing Vlaelmundr..."

One of my arms that was hugging his waist slid down and then I used it to slap his butt cheek jokingly but still hard. Laerad flinched and a very lewd sounding, "Ah!" came out from him. He grabbed my shoulders and pushed me off of him then he stormed out of the gazebo to go back inside the hut.

As he walked away angrily, I laughed out loud and teased him again, "If you walk away from me right now, I am teleporting back to the palace." His steps ceased in an instant and I heard him click his tongue in annoyance. He turned around, grabbed my hand and started pulling me back into our home. Another bout of laughter came from me as we walked hand in hand.

He did not stop walking until we were inside our bedroom. I asked him, as if I was clueless about his plans. Of couse, I already know the answer but still asked, "Are we going to sleep now? Isn’t it still too early? Having pregnancy drowsiness again?"

Laerad did not respond but he started removing his clothes one by one then he laid on the bed like a starfish. Well, a starfish with a tiny bump on his stomach.

I sat on the edge of the bed and did not move afterwards. He sat up on the bed and asked, "What? Not interested in the pregnant me anymore? Don’t I at least get to have a reward for a job well done?"

Instead of answering, I simply stood up and pressed his shoulders back on to the bed. I kneeled between his legs and leaned over to place my ear on his stomach instead to listen to my babies. They immediately greeted me as my face made contact on to their father’s skin.

I whispered to the babies through my mind, "Isn’t it about time that you guys are out? Isn’t it getting too suffocating in there?" Their response was a short, "Need more energy."
