Chapter 467: Chapter 451: On a Hair Trigger
As a long-lost Tier Four Top-Grade Spiritual Pill, the Sun Six Wu Divine Essence Pill was of unimaginable value.
The Zengguang Du Family had been fabulously wealthy, and this pill was one of the three items carried by the last heir of their line.
The other two were a Nascent Soul Tribulation Secret Technique and the Six Desires True Demon Scripture, used to cultivate and transform one’s body into a True Demon Holy Body.
No other power would ever consider using a Sun Six Wu Divine Essence Pill on a mere Core Formation True Man. Even an ordinary Nascent Soul True Monarch would likely be reluctant to use it.
Using it to treat the hidden demonic injury afflicting Master Qingmu was truly overkill.
However, in Bai Zichen’s eyes, the debt owed for saving his life—especially an act of selfless sincerity—was far more precious than any Sun Six Wu Divine Essence Pill.
’It’s a shame I don’t have any Cultivation Elixirs on me suitable for the Core Formation Stage. Being unable to enhance his True Essence or advance his Cultivation for a century doesn’t mean he hasn’t made any progress. Once this deep-seated malady is purged, a renewed Master Qingmu will surely experience a great leap in his Cultivation.’
The Dian Country had few famous blessed lands or sacred mountains known throughout the Cultivation Realm, nor did it have sects with ancient lineages and illustrious ancestors.
To outside Cultivators, it was most famous for the Qingqiu Death Sea, a place classified as a perilous Desolate Land.
Bai Zichen had only learned of this Desolate Land because Ge Cang had mentioned it while telling him about the world’s Sacred Bodies. Ge Cang had said that the founding Ancestor of the Five Elements Sect—his own closest and most steadfast ally—had possessed this very Sacred Body.
’Even with the complete Five Spiritual Roots, which the Cultivation Realm considers useless, once he possessed the Five Elements Holy Body, his Cultivation speed rivaled that of someone with an Abnormal Spiritual Root. He could also cultivate any Cultivation Technique without restriction. In his hands, even basic Five Elements Magic was as powerful as a Secret Technique or Divine Technique.’
Because of his own special Sacred Body, he was very interested in all the Sacred Bodies and Spirit Bodies of the Cultivation Realm.
As his Cultivation rose, his perspective broadened, and the information he could access became increasingly esoteric.
Counting the Divinity Transformation Great Powers throughout history, a significant number of them had possessed Sacred Bodies. The number of those clearly recorded exceeded a handful.
It was also possible that some Divinity Transformation Great Powers had been unwilling to reveal such information, passing away without a single word of it ever leaking out.
’There’s one more thing. Aside from the Great Wilderness Holy Body, which was possessed by two different people, no other Sacred Body has ever appeared twice... The one most similar to my own would be the Flawless Holy Body. The owner’s Cultivation speed was still tied to their original aptitude, but they knew no bottlenecks before the Divinity Transformation Realm.’
Now that he was in Dian Country, the thought of the Five Elements Ancestor Master’s Five Elements Holy Body led Bai Zichen to reflect on his own.
’The owner of the Flawless Holy Body came from a poor background and had extremely ordinary Cultivation Conditions. Each breakthrough was a close call, and it was only after reaching the Nascent Soul Stage that he gradually caught up to his peers. There are no specific records of how he took that final step into Divinity Transformation. It is only known that he acted once after his ascension, then vanished from the world, leaving behind only the legend of a late bloomer in the Cultivation Realm.’
Comparing the two, the Flawless Holy Body seemed like a very close match.
However, it was also clearly recorded that this Cultivator was unskilled in Magic and inept with Divine Techniques, relying solely on the power of his Magical Treasures and his higher Realm to defeat his foes.
This was where it differed from his own mysterious Sacred Body.
For him, there were no cultivation bottlenecks, whether it was Divine Power Secret Techniques or even the Hundred Skills of Cultivation.
However, the process of accumulation during Cultivation still required his own hard work.
’At least with the Flawless Holy Body as a precedent, reaching Nascent Soul Perfection shouldn’t be too difficult for me... As for the hurdle of Divinity Transformation, I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. Perhaps I’ll have made new discoveries by then.’
In the distance, Two Realms Mountain, the home of the Five Elements Sect, came into Bai Zichen’s view.
Thick smoke billowed and flames lit up the sky. Large numbers of wounded Cultivators were being carried down from the front lines and placed in makeshift pavilions to recover.
A Female Cultivator with a dignified and graceful appearance sat at the center of the area. She held a treasured vase and poured its contents onto the ground. A Spirit Plant sprouted and grew rapidly, soon blooming into a giant flower.
A rich, dense life force radiated outward from this point. All the Cultivators it touched felt their spirits lift, and a healthy color returned to their faces.
She was a rare healing-type Cultivator, and her Pill Dao must have been related to rejuvenation and nourishment.
Despite only being at the Mid-Stage Core Formation Realm, her value in a sect war was greater than ten other Core Formation Cultivators combined.
The lightly injured Cultivators soon fell into a deep slumber, their wounds healing with noticeable improvement.
For the severely wounded, the treatment halted the deterioration of their conditions. A thin film formed over severed limbs that had been gushing blood, and a wash of green light protected gaping abdominal wounds, preventing them from tearing further.
Those who were already on the brink of death, with but a single breath left, had wisps of green energy flow into their mouths and noses, and they fell into a state resembling a peaceful dream.
All their bodily functions came to a halt, and in doing so, that last breath was preserved.
"Who goes there? The Hundred Skills Sect, Red Flame Sect, and Celestial Heart Sect are acting in concert! Uninvolved parties, stand back!"
Two Foundation Establishment Cultivators blocked his path, showing little reverence for a senior whose Cultivation was clearly far above their own.
In their minds, the newcomer was at most a Core Formation True Man. Right now, Two Realms Mountain was not short on Core Formation True Men; there were even three Nascent Soul True Monarchs on site.
On any other day, their attitude would naturally have been quite different.
"Is that the Five Elements Sect up ahead?"
Bai Zichen looked toward the billowing smoke, a flicker of anxiety in his eyes.
If he was a step too late and had to watch the Five Elements Sect be annihilated right before his eyes, it would become a regret he would carry for the rest of his life.
"It is. The Five Elements Sect colluded with Demons and brought evil to this land. Our three Sects have joined forces to restore justice for the Cultivators of the Dian Country... I don’t care who you might know in the Five Elements Sect. As long as you withdraw now, I can act as if you were never here!"
"Utter nonsense! Fellow Daoist Zou, don’t forget the Ancestors’ instructions before we left! The matter of the Five Elements Sect is too important to allow for soft-heartedness!"
Two Core Formation True Men dropped out of their Escape Lights. One of them, a man with a sharp-jawed, monkey-like face, waved a hand, preparing to capture the newcomer.
"Fortunately... judging by your tone, the Five Elements Sect has not yet fallen."
Bai Zichen breathed a sigh of relief. At least he hadn’t made an irreversible mistake.
He had investigated the powers of the Dian Country before his arrival; in total, there were only these three Nascent Soul Sects.
Their strength was only marginally greater than the current Ice Soul Palace. In essence, they all pinned their hopes on a single genius, a single lucky soul, to change their Sect’s history.
And what of the next generation? They would continue to gamble on talent and fortune.
This was unlike the Holy Lotus Sect, which had a complete and orderly lineage. Even if one generation failed to produce a Nascent Soul True Monarch, it wouldn’t be long before the Sect reclaimed its glory.
Of course, that was under normal circumstances.
In the current situation, the Celestial Principle Sect had nearly forced the Holy Lotus Sect to abandon the outer mountain ranges of Qii Mountain.
"Good. That’s all good..."
Bai Zichen swung his longsword. He truly didn’t give a second thought to the few Nascent Soul Sects of the Dian Country.
The Ancestors of these three Sects were all at the Early-Stage Nascent Soul Realm—nothing more than failures who had cultivated for several hundred years longer than him only to remain in the same Realm.
He strode past them. Behind him, the two Core Formation True Men collapsed, having never even seen the shadow of his Sword Light.
As he walked on, Cultivators from the three Sects dropped to their knees. Arcs of Thunder Radiance leaped out on their own, severing the heads of every Core Formation True Man.
He had almost reached the foot of Two Realms Mountain before any high-level Cultivators from the three Sects finally reacted.
"May I ask your name, Your Excellency?"
The Supreme Elder of the Red Flame Sect took out his Banana Leaf Fan. Using Fire Escape, he appeared before Bai Zichen, his attention fixed on the young Cultivator.
"The Five Elements Sect must be destroyed today. If you don’t wish to make a mistake, you had best withdraw three hundred li... After our business here is concluded, we will offer you tea and our sincerest apologies."
"And if I insist on interfering?"
"Then you are an enemy to all three of our Sects! Don’t think you can do as you please just because you’re a Sword Cultivator. You have no chance of winning a one-on-three fight. You’re too arrogant!"
The Red Flame Sect’s Supreme Elder suppressed his rage. If he hadn’t identified the man as a Nascent Soul Sword Cultivator, how could he have possibly swallowed his pride after so many of his own men had been killed?
