Chapter 485: Chapter 466: Baiqiao Falls, Xiaobai Feasts

After acquiring the Thousand-Year-Old Golden Crown Lingzhi, he found two stalks of Longevity Grass.

’Ye Sui Three Stars, a full three thousand years old. These can be used in Tier Four Life-Extending Elixirs...’

Bai Zichen immediately took out two Jade Boxes enchanted to prevent Spiritual Qi leakage and maintain constant temperature and humidity, carefully storing the Longevity Grass inside.

The market price for Life-Extending Elixirs had been rising steadily over the years.

A Tier Four Life-Extending Elixir could grant at least a 60-Year Cycle of life, and its effects would only completely wear off after the third one was consumed.

Every time a High-Tier Life-Extending Elixir appeared at auction, it drew hordes of elderly Cultivators who would stop at nothing, willing to spend their entire fortunes.

Some hoped to use the extra time to achieve another breakthrough and see if they could reach the next Great Tier.

But most Cultivators simply feared death; living even one more day was a victory.

A large portion were the pillars of their Sect or Clan. Their deaths would spell catastrophic change.

For the sake of their sect-mates and kin, they could not afford to die easily.

For the vast majority of Sects, having a Nascent Soul Ancestor or Core Formation True Man—even one on the verge of death—presiding over them made all the difference.

The higher their Cultivation, the more pronounced this phenomenon became, and the more those around them could bask in the blessings of their protection.

The pinnacle of this phenomenon was exemplified by the few Super Sects in the Central Domain.

They would boast about "our Divinity Transformation Ancestor," only for a glance at the annals to reveal they were talking about events from six or seven thousand years ago.

Regardless, the value of the three-thousand-year-old Longevity Grass was immeasurable.

These two stalks alone were likely more valuable than all the other Spirit Medicines combined.

The third level held all sorts of Magical Treasures.

Any item worthy of this treasury was at least a Top-Grade Magical Treasure. There were also seven or eight Supreme-Grade Magical Treasures, along with some rare, complete sets of Magical Treasures.

Unfortunately, a search of all the Jade Shrines revealed not a single Spiritual Treasure.

An unexpected delight was the discovery of a Tier Three Flying Sword.

The sword was five feet long, its blade flecked with colorful specks, and its pommel shaped like a dragon’s head.

He grasped it, began refining it with his True Essence, and quickly learned its name: the Hundred Poison Cold Python Sword.

During its Refining, it had been quenched in over a hundred different venoms, permanently imbuing the blade with a cocktail of toxins.

Wounds inflicted by this sword were difficult to heal, as the toxins would rapidly enter the bloodstream and spread throughout the body.

Because it was a mixture of so many venoms, no one could possibly know which Antitoxic Elixir would serve as an antidote.

Furthermore, a Serpent-Dragon Essence Soul had been infused into the blade at the final stage of its forging. This gave the Flying Sword a Dragon’s Majesty, which had a powerful deterrent effect on Tier Three and lower Demon Beasts.

’What a grand move. Using a Tier Four Serpent-Dragon Essence Soul for the finishing touch... it seems they were trying to forge a Tier Four Flying Sword. A pity. A high-tier Spiritual Treasure isn’t so easily created. In the end, it only became a Tier Three Flying Sword.’

Bai Zichen tested the feel of the Hundred Poison Cold Python Sword. When using Sword Control, it felt light and graceful, suited for a swift and agile Sword Path.

He tossed it into his Supreme Qingwei Sword Box, figuring he would refine it slowly when he had time.

A Flying Sword with the potential to advance to Tier Four was worthy of a second look.

Below that were Talismans, Array Plates, strange artifacts, and more, totaling over a hundred items.

Bai Zichen left nothing behind, cleaning out the entire Secret Vault. He wished he could have scraped a layer off the floor itself.

’Not a single Elixir? It seems the Hundred Skills Sect stores them somewhere else...’

Besides the Secret Vault, Bai Zichen also considered checking the Transmission Hall to see if he could make off with the Hundred Skills Sect’s entire legacy.

However, deep within Wanfu Mountain, a wisp of blue-green smoke was rising straight into the air. As it condensed, the fluctuations of a Nascent Soul began to descend and coalesce.

At the same time, two Golden Armor Puppets appeared, looking majestic. One brandished a two-handed golden warhammer, while the other wielded a golden mace in each hand.

’A Tier Four Warrior Divine Talisman... and what kind of Secret Technique is producing that smoke? It looks like it’s summoning a Nascent Soul Cultivator!’

The Golden Armor Puppets were summoned by a Tier Four Warrior Divine Talisman. They were perfect for crushing weaker opponents and would easily overwhelm any Core Formation Cultivator.

With their massive frames and innate Divine Power, they were nothing but two ruthless killing machines.

But to a Nascent Soul True Monarch, the Tier Four Golden Armor Puppets had far too many weaknesses. Any True Monarch could defeat them with ease.

Bai Zichen could think of at least ten ways to achieve a quick victory after just a single glance.

But the smoke had already condensed into a pillar; the Secret Technique was nearly complete.

If it really was a Nascent Soul True Monarch, supported by two Golden Armor Puppets, it would be difficult to win in a short amount of time.

And if the Hundred Skills Sect found a way to drive off his Ziwei Dazzling Thunder Sword and reactivate the Grand Array, he would truly be a bird in a cage.

’I don’t know where the Transmission Hall and the Grand Library are, and I can’t search for them in just a moment... I should quit while I’m ahead. I’ve already emptied the entire Secret Vault. The fruits of the Hundred Skills Sect’s thousands of years of accumulation are all here!’

Deciding to quit while he was ahead, Bai Zichen turned and flew out of Wanfu Mountain.

As he left, he didn’t forget to grab the storage bags from the Core Formation True Men he had dealt with underground, along with the Array Banners and Array Plate.

This raid on the Hundred Skills Sect, plundering its Secret Vault, was of limited personal benefit to Bai Zichen.

But for the Qingfeng Sect, it was an incredible leap forward, allowing them to pull far ahead of the competition.

Once he transported all the acquired Treasures back to Black Mountain, the Qingfeng Sect would have gained the equivalent of several decades of accumulation for free, taking a solid step toward becoming a true Nascent Soul Major Sect.

When he reached the exit of the Grand Array, the Ziwei Dazzling Thunder Sword was still displaying its divine might. Its Thunder Radiance surged, forming into Thunder Dragons that held the Array suppressed beneath them.

Bai Zichen reached out and clenched his fist in the air. The Thunder Radiance Sword Light returned to his hand. He first slashed through the Grand Array’s restrictions, and once free, he let out a great laugh and vanished in a flash of lightning.

A good while later, a Hundred Skills Sect Cultivator finally ventured out onto Wanfu Mountain. He gave a cautious glance around before quickly scurrying back.

The mighty Tier Four Grand Array, having been struck from within while undefended, was now mostly paralyzed, lying limply across the mountain ridge.

The two Golden Armor Puppets strode forward, their steps making the mountain path tremble and echo, and took up guard positions on either side of the Grand Array.

Within the Hundred Skills Sect, the wails of Cultivators could be heard everywhere. It was utter chaos. ℯℯ𝑙.

The actual number of dead was not that high—any random Sect war would have seen more casualties.

But the attack had been too sudden. The Nascent Soul Ancestor had perished without warning, followed by the deaths of several Core Formation Elders. The sect was now a flock without a shepherd.

No one could step up to take command. It was every man for himself, and the chaos continued. Many disciples were still trying to flee in a panic.

The attack had struck at the heart of their Mountain Gate. The Sect’s upper echelon had been nearly wiped out, and the Secret Vault was plundered.

This incident could be considered the most devastating disaster in the history of the Hundred Skills Sect.

The loss of life, the empty Secret Vault, and most importantly, the shattered confidence of the remaining Sect Cultivators.

An intruder had waltzed into their home as if it were an empty land, ransacked the Secret Vault, killed so many of their own, and then left without suffering a single scratch.

A few would turn shame into courage, using the event as motivation for their Cultivation and seeking an opportunity for revenge.

But the vast majority would simply complain, cursing the Sect for its incompetence and mocking those who had died fighting for it.

"Can someone tell me what happened?"

The blue-green smoke burned away, and the ethereal projection of a Nascent Soul True Monarch descended. His expression changed drastically upon seeing the scene around him.

"Ancestor Yu, tonight, Feng Yishan of the Celestial Heart Sect was supposed to meet with Ancestor Xin. But the one who showed up wasn’t Feng Yishan. It was Bai Zichen from the Northern Domain... He’s a rather controversial Nascent Soul Sword Cultivator. Some say he is all but guaranteed to become a Divinity Transformation Seed, while others claim he’s been overestimated and that reaching the Nascent Soul realm has already exhausted his potential."

A fair-faced, beardless Core Formation Cultivator dropped to his knees, his hands trembling like a butterfly’s wings.

"Ancestor Yu, I implore you, for the sake of our shared heritage, to preside over the Sect for the time being. We face threats from within and without, and all the disciples have lost their will to fight."

"My branch split off several hundred years ago and was never formally acknowledged... Returning now would be rather improper, wouldn’t it?"

The Nascent Soul Cultivator, Ancestor Yu, was an extremely famous Loose Cultivator True Monarch in Dian Country, but few people knew he was originally a disciple of the Hundred Skills Sect.

Back when he was competing with Xin Youhuang for the position of successor, Yu was accused of stealing a Divine Object from the Sect.

Although the matter was eventually dropped, a great deal of suspicion remained.

Later, when Xin Youhuang successfully achieved the Nascent Soul realm, Yu—still only at the Late-Stage Core Formation realm—was unwilling to endure the humiliation and left in a rage.

He left only a stick of Spiritual Incense for his junior brother at the time. When it was lit and completely burned, he could use its spiritual fragrance to project an ethereal image of himself and help resolve a crisis.
