After having breakfast, Rory spent some time playing with Terry and then went to check on the two egg babies.

During this time, Lola and Gina sent her messages. They had both gotten separated from her last night. Worried about Rory, Lola and Gina asked if she had encountered any danger after they got separated. Not wanting them to worry, Rory didn’t tell them what had happened the previous night.

As she watched the two egg babies, memories of last night kept popping into her head.

Vincent was sitting nearby reading a book. Seeing Rory lying beside him and constantly spacing out, he simply put down his book, picked her up, and set her on his lap.

"Rory, what are you thinking about? You’ve spaced out five times already."

"Have I?" Rory looked at Vincent and blinked.

"Yes," Vincent answered with certainty. "Are you still thinking about last night?" he asked, looking at her. "Or rather... are you thinking about Paros?"

"No," Rory immediately denied.

Vincent smiled and held her tightly. "Alright, no then. So tell me, what are you thinking about?"

Rory pursed her lips and said, "I was thinking... I was in so much pain last night, so what kind of medicine did Paros give me? If he had that medicine, why didn’t he take it out earlier?"

Rory always felt that while she was being tormented by the medicine last night and out of her mind, something else she didn’t know about had happened. Furthermore, last night was such a good opportunity, yet Paros hadn’t mated with her. Rory felt that Paros must have struggled with himself, and it certainly wasn’t that she lacked charm. The only explanation was that Paros had such noble character as a dragon that he wouldn’t take advantage of someone in that situation.

Vincent looked at her, remained silent for a second, and then said, "If you want to know, wouldn’t it be clear if you just asked Paros?"

"I did ask," Rory said. "I sent Paros a message asking what medicine he gave me, but he didn’t reply!"

She had called him too, but he didn’t answer. Fearing that something had happened to Paros, she specifically called Ethan Gabriel to check on the situation. Ethan wasn’t by Paros’s side, so he gave her the phone number of the Dragon Clan’s Grand Elder.

She then called the Grand Elder. He said that Paros was resting and that nothing was wrong—they were already on the warship heading back to the Aquatic Domain.

From the Grand Elder’s tone, it sounded like Paros didn’t intend to contact her again after leaving this time. Since he didn’t want to keep in touch, she couldn’t shamelessly go and pester him further. Yet, Rory still felt uneasy in her heart.

Vincent sighed softly. "Rory, you’re worried about Paros, aren’t you?"

Rory stayed silent, which was a tacit admission. She felt deep down that last night’s events weren’t that simple, and she needed to see Paros once more to truly put her mind at ease.

"I’ll go with you," Vincent said. "His warship should have just left the Central not long ago. If we chase after it now, we’ll catch up very quickly."

"Rather than having you sit here absentmindedly, it’s better to let you go see him in person so you can rest easy."

If something really happened to Paros and Rory found out later, she would definitely blame herself. He didn’t want that to happen.

Gratefully, Rory hugged Vincent. "Vincent, you are so good to me."

Vincent let out a light chuckle. "I can be this good because I know that even if you keep Paros here, it won’t affect my position."

Paros had already lived at home for so long anyway. To Vincent, having one more or one less didn’t really matter. But that was strictly limited to Paros alone; if it were anyone else, he wouldn’t agree.

Vincent lifted Rory up. "Go change your clothes. I’ll go prepare the warship."

"Okay." Rory nodded and immediately went to change.

By the time Rory came out after changing, Vincent had already prepared the warship. Xarion, Wen, Aren, and Jasper were all waiting in the living room. Vangar had business today and had returned to the Military Department. Yuel had gone to work after breakfast, taking Nix with him when he left.

On the warship.

Thinking about the phone call from Rory, the Grand Elder couldn’t help but go look for Paros.

"Dragon Lord, earlier this morning, the female Rory called me to ask about your situation. She is still very worried about you."

"I think you still have a chance. Now that the True Dragon Blood has been given to the female Rory, if you don’t mate with her to retrieve the dragon blood, you will really die."

If the Dragon Clan lost their Dragon Lord, they would soon be carved up by the other races in the Aquatic Domain. The Grand Elder felt deep heartache for Paros and was equally worried about the future of their clan.

Paros knew what the Grand Elder was worried about. "Rest assured, before I die, I will arrange everything. Nothing will happen to the Dragon Clan."

"Sigh!" The Grand Elder let out a heavy sigh. Their Dragon Lord’s stubborn, unyielding temper was truly... giving him a massive headache.

After the Grand Elder left, Paros toyed with the hairpin in his hand. He had taken it from Rory’s hair last night, and it was now his only keepsake.

He wondered if she noticed it was missing and if she was angry. If she knew he was the one who took it, would she think he was a pervert?

A few hours later.

Rory’s warship rapidly approached Paros’s warship.

Looking at the warship ahead, Rory called the Grand Elder. "Grand Elder, this is Rory. Could you please tell the warship to stop? I want to see Paros."

The reason Rory didn’t call Paros directly was that she guessed he definitely wouldn’t pick up her call or agree to see her. The more he acted this way, the more Rory felt there was something wrong with this dragon.

"Female Rory?" The Grand Elder looked in surprise at the warship catching up from behind. "Please wait a moment; I’ll go ask the Dragon Lord."

The Grand Elder turned off his optical computer and went straight to find Paros. He was quite overjoyed. Since the female Rory had chased after him in person, their Dragon Lord probably wouldn’t hide from her anymore, right?

Before leaving, the Grand Elder instructed his subordinate who was piloting the warship, "Slow down and let the female Rory come over."

Even if their Dragon Lord tried to hide, it wouldn’t matter. Once the female Rory arrived in person, let’s see how he could hide then! The Grand Elder genuinely hoped that Paros could mate with Rory. After all, mating was the only thing that could save their Dragon Lord now.

Having instructed his subordinate, the Grand Elder quickly went to find Paros.

"Dragon Lord, the female Rory has chased after us."

"What?" Paros sat up abruptly, but because the movement was too sudden, his head spun with dizziness. He sat back down on the bed, looking at the Grand Elder in shock.

After calming down, he continued, "Go tell her: since I chose to return to the Aquatic Domain, I don’t wish to have anything more to do with her. Tell her to leave. I will not see her."

He didn’t want her to see him in his current state.

"Yes, I will go right away."

The Grand Elder had already guessed it would be like this. Leaving Paros’s room, he pulled the door half-shut and slowly walked out to the deck of the warship.

Seeing that Rory’s warship had already pulled alongside theirs, the Grand Elder immediately put on a bright smile and went to greet her.

"Female Rory, I am so glad that you came to chase after our Dragon Lord."

Rory boarded the warship and looked at the Grand Elder, asking, "Where is Paros? I want to see him."

The Grand Elder put on a conflicted look and said, "Female Rory, our Dragon Lord... he doesn’t want to see you right now."
