Investing in My Wife: But She's Already the Strongest!
Chapter 47: Z Crime Area
After leaving the gate, the first thing the two women actually did was take out cigarettes and light them.
They smoked and exhaled the smoke inside the car, which fortunately had an air circulation system that immediately sucked it away.
The straight-haired woman, Zara Stanley, looked at Enzo with a smile beginning to appear on her face.
Enzo maintained his expressionless face and waited to see what she would say.
The two of them were basically around the same age as his younger brother. He couldn’t expect much better behavior from them.
Unexpectedly, the straight-haired woman held out a cigarette toward him, along with a lighter.
"Uncle, want one?" she asked.
The slightly curly-haired woman, Rosa, looked back with a smile.
"Just try it. It’s really relaxing and will give you a satisfying sense of calm. Maybe you’ll even gain some enlightenment in that tranquility because it’s a special kind of calm. Auntie used to smoke when she was young too, so you don’t need to worry about her getting angry," she said.
Enzo merely smiled in response, saying nothing and making no particular movement.
Basically, if they did anything strange, he would simply ignore them.
The two women, who had initially been waiting for his response, could only be stunned when they realized they were being ignored.
Zara reluctantly pulled the cigarette back and placed it on the car’s dashboard.
"Ahem..." She cleared her throat.
"Uncle, honestly, you’re so handsome. There wasn’t a single guy in our high school who was as handsome as you. With looks like yours, your high school years must have been filled with fun, right? You must have had lots of ex-girlfriends, right?" she asked again.
"Zara, why are you asking something that’s already obvious? Even Auntie fell in love with him, let alone high school girls," Rosa replied with a chuckle.
"I know. I’m just curious. With Uncle being this handsome, how many women have you taken to bed? There must have been a lot, right? Maybe you’ve even dated beautiful teachers. Am I right, Uncle? You don’t have to be so careful around us. Whatever you say won’t get back to Auntie."
After hearing all that, Enzo regretted not taking the cigarette.
If he had smoked it, he could have focused on it and truly ignored these two young women.
But even though he was extremely annoyed, he remained silent with an expressionless face.
He knew that if he responded, their words would only become even more uncontrollable.
"Uncle, how was your first night with Auntie? She didn’t kick you out of bed, did she?" Zara asked again despite being ignored.
"Hey, didn’t your father teach you? You’re not supposed to ask about someone else’s first night," Rosa scolded her.
"Oh, sorry. But I’m really curious. Auntie is already quite old, but she’s a virgin who has never dated anyone. She could have thrown a tantrum on her first night, right?"
"Cough!"
Enzo unconsciously coughed.
The two of them had been extremely obedient when serving as Miya’s attendants on her wedding day, yet here they were, casually talking about her however they pleased.
"Hahaha, Uncle, why did you react? Is there any truth to what I said?" Zara asked.
Rosa, who had initially scolded her, also became curious.
Enzo rolled his eyes.
Of course, he couldn’t tell them that they hadn’t even had their first night yet.
"You two should be more careful with what you say. Today, Miya monitored me when I went to and returned from university. She might be monitoring us right now too," he said.
"Don’t worry. If Auntie is watching, we’ll know. See this?" Rosa replied while showing him the silver bracelet on her left arm.
It was nearly ten centimeters wide, wrapped around her wrist.
"This is an artifact my father gave me that can block all Mental Sense. Even though Auntie is extremely powerful, she won’t be able to penetrate this bracelet’s power from a distance. If she tries, I’ll know."
"Hahaha, Uncle. Even though we’re still weak, we’re equipped with plenty of defensive artifacts. That’s why we’re allowed to roam around the city and take you out even though the city is currently in such a bad state."
Enzo: "..."
He regretted saying anything.
There was no taking it back now.
"Anyway, where are you taking me?" he changed the subject.
When they entered the city, the car instead headed toward a slum district, toward the Z Crime Area.
That was merely what people called it, but essentially, this was the largest slum district.
Although Enzo had also come from a poor family, his family could still be considered civilized.
The Z Crime Area was the lowest point of poverty, where manners and culture had disappeared.
Enzo had never even entered this area before.
The houses here were made of old concrete covered in cracks. He even saw several houses that had completely collapsed or burned down.
The roads were narrow and rocky, though there were countless paths branching in every direction.
Fortunately, the car could absorb the impact, so the passengers inside didn’t feel the bumps at all.
It was only around three in the afternoon, yet many young people were already wandering around heavily intoxicated, both boys and girls alike.
The ones who appeared more sober were actually fighting each other.
"Uncle, Auntie was the one who asked us to bring you here. Actually, I’ve never been here either," Rosa answered.
Enzo became confused when he heard that.
"You damn brat, smoke this!" Suddenly, he heard a loud shout coming from a narrow alley, loud enough to be heard inside the car.
A schoolboy who appeared to be around twelve years old was being forced by a man in his thirties to inhale through a straw connected to a bottle filled with liquid.
The boy shook his head, refusing, but the adult man slapped him instead.
Enzo’s blood immediately boiled with anger.
He had thought this was something that only happened in movies.
But it was real.
A drug dealer was forcing a child to try drugs.
Once the child tried it, he would most likely want it again.
Perhaps the man’s goal wasn’t to make the boy a customer, but to turn him into a dealer at his school.
Even back in middle school—or even elementary school—Enzo had actually encountered students who brought drugs to school and sold them to other students.
