Investing in the Three Villainesses Gives Me Infinite Returns
Chapter 133: Sword Body
Morning sunlight filtered through the windows, and the curtains cast soft shadows across the room as three figures slept together on the larger bed.
The fatigue Elias had experienced yesterday had been so overwhelming that he had remained unconscious throughout the evening and night. When his eyes finally opened, he found himself staring at the ceiling with Natasha and Stella pressed against him from either side.
A faint smile appeared on his face as he glanced toward Stella.
’Was it a dream?’
He could no longer see the strange spirit that had appeared when he formed the connection, but perhaps that was because it had merely been an illusion brought about by his exhaustion.
Still, there was only one way to make sure.
’Boundless Tether of Hearts and Souls.’
An orange screen immediately appeared before his eyes.
[Boundless Tether of Hearts and Souls]
[Grade: SSS]
[In this world, one must choose their ties, responsibilities, and duty. You have the choice of binding your very self to three beings in an eternal, never-ending, limitless net.]
[Bounds: 1/3]
Elias’s gaze immediately settled on the final line, and his eyes widened.
’What...?’
The number had changed to one.
He could not feel the strange connection he had experienced yesterday, nor could he sense anything resembling his soul being bound to another existence. He could not even see the mysterious spirit anymore.
Then a voice strangely similar to Stella’s, yet carrying a soothing maturity and an unmistakably sharp edge, reached his ears.
"You are thinking too much, human."
Elias froze.
His eyes widened as he turned his head and saw the strange spirit phase directly through the wall at the front of the room before floating toward him.
She looked similar to Stella, yet her long crimson hair and ethereal presence made it immediately clear that she was not the woman sleeping beside him.
Elias glanced toward Stella, wondering whether the spirit’s voice had awakened her, but Stella continued sleeping peacefully.
The spirit noticed his concern and calmly explained, "Stella cannot see or hear me. No one except you can."
Elias’s lips parted, but nothing came out.
After several seconds of silence, he finally asked through Mental Whisper, [What are you?]
The spirit seemed amused by the question as she rubbed her chin thoughtfully, and then she flicked her left hand.
An orange screen suddenly appeared before Elias without his command, sending a faint shiver down his spine.
"Calm down," the spirit said. "I will not hurt you. You are Stella’s husband, after all, and she also seems to like you a little."
’How believable...’
Elias nodded faintly; a sweat drop rolled down his face.
[Sword Body]
[This vessel holds the spirit of a sword, thus an absurd talent for swordsmanship.]
Elias stared at the description before slowly shifting his gaze toward the spirit.
Then he looked back at the screen.
Then at her again.
’It is Stella’s physical constitution...’
After repeating the comparison several times, he finally asked, [You are the Sword Spirit?]
The spirit nodded confidently.
"I am."
Elias stared at her for several seconds before silently muttering, ’What the fuck did I do?’
The Sword Spirit’s expression immediately changed, and she flew closer to him.
"You do not know what you did?"
At that moment, Natasha shifted in her sleep and placed one leg over Elias.
Both Elias and the Sword Spirit stared at her for a moment before silently deciding to ignore it.
[I do not. Do you?]
The Sword Spirit shook her head and folded her arms behind her head as she floated above him.
"Nope."
Elias’s brows furrowed.
[Are you not the Sword Spirit? Should you not be aware of such things?]
She considered his question for a moment before shrugging.
"I am the Sword Spirit, not the Arcane Spirit."
Elias fell silent.
So he had somehow formed a connection with the Sword Spirit residing inside Stella instead of forming a connection with Stella herself.
’Did it happen because she is broken into three personalities?’
As Elias continued thinking, the Sword Spirit remained above him, watching him with openly curious eyes.
He eventually noticed her staring and frowned.
[What is it?]
Instead of answering, she tilted her head and asked, "What kind of treasure is that thing called Infinite Investment System?"
Elias blinked.
For a moment, he could not even form a thought because of the sheer absurdity of the question.
[What?]
The Sword Spirit furrowed her brows before snapping her fingers, causing another orange screen to appear before him.
[Infinite Investment System.]
[Each and every investment and goodwill shown toward your three wives — Natasha Sephila, Monica Ragnar, and Stella Crimson — will generate rewards based on their average affection toward the host.]
"This."
Elias stared at the screen, and a strange sense of vulnerability settled over him.
’How is she doing this?’
The Sword Spirit seemed to understand his concern and casually explained, "We are connected, so I can naturally do that, but I cannot do anything other than make those appear."
Elias found the explanation understandable enough, so he nodded.
’It makes sense... I guess.’
Then his expression changed.
’Wait... did you hear my thoughts?’
The Sword Spirit frowned as though the question itself was strange.
"Of course I did. We are connected, you know?"
Elias remained silent.
Now it seemed as though she was simply using their connection as an excuse for everything.
After a moment, he asked, [Why did you call it a treasure?]
"What else would you call it?" she questioned, furrowing her brows. "Can you not feel it?"
[Feel what?]
The Sword Spirit stared at him.
"..."
She eventually looked away and muttered, "Leave it."
Elias frowned, but after considering the situation for a moment, he decided that it was worth trying.
’System, how do I break the connection?’
An orange screen flickered before his eyes.
However, before Elias could read even a single word, the Sword Spirit dismissed it with a casual flick of her hand.
"Why would you do that?"
Elias frowned deeply.
’I do not want a spirit that looks like my wife floating beside me all the time.’
"I can be of help, you know?" she said while floating in a relaxed position, her arms resting behind her head as though she were lying down.
Elias stared at her suspiciously.
’What kind of help?’
The Sword Spirit grinned.
"Your swordsmanship."
