"Oh? Is it that effective?"

"Of course! Our Lord Erlang is very compassionate!" the temple caretaker said with great pride.

But he didn’t notice that the man’s eyes suddenly turned pure black after hearing this.

"Then let me give it a try!"

The man casually took the incense, walked to the altar, lit it with a nearby candle flame, and then inserted it into the incense burner.

After completing all this, the man looked up at the towering statue, a cold smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

"A minor deity, and you dare to be so arrogant?"

As soon as these words were spoken, a fierce wind suddenly blew through the temple.

The incense devotees and the temple caretaker were all swept away by this gust of wind, and then the temple doors closed, sealing them off from the outside world.

Immediately after, a dazzling light emanated from the statue above the altar, and the figures of Yangjian and the Nine Heavens Mysterious Lady appeared from within.

But Ruin remained indifferent to these movements, or one could say he simply didn’t care at all.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about, there’s no Xue An’s flesh here!" Yangjian decided to play dumb.

Yet no sooner had his voice fallen than Ruin nodded, "Don’t know? Very well, then you shall die!"

With that, a flash of black light passed, and an explosion erupted from the altar.

Yangjian let out a muffled groan as he was blasted back; if not for having sealed the temple in advance and entering a secret realm, that single blow would have been enough to flatten the Erlang Shrine.

Even so, the secret realm shook a few times, and Yangjian’s complexion turned extremely grim.
