Chapter 786: Chapter 779: The Second Match

Qianyue Jian’s question was never answered.

His consciousness completely dissipated, absorbed by a pillar of light as he was ejected from the Dream Realm battlefield. Meanwhile, Zhou Yuanjue received the message of his victory. This time, however, he didn’t immediately leave. He remained on the battlefield.

"Please wait patiently for all duels to conclude before the next round of matchmaking. Your will is now being restored."

The message came from his True Talisman. At the same time, a milky-white pillar of light descended from the sky, enveloping his body. A warmth spread through his will. He could feel his exhausted will and Spirit rapidly recovering.

While combat in the Dream Realm didn’t harm the body, it did take a toll on one’s will. The intense clashes of the last battle had left Zhou Yuanjue’s will utterly exhausted and in need of replenishment.

He simply sat cross-legged within the white light and began to take stock of what he had gained from the previous battle.

Although he couldn’t test it here in the Dream Realm, he knew that the head-on collision and intense spiritual entanglement with an expert of the same level had surely increased his mastery of the perfect resonance state. And it wouldn’t be a small improvement, either.

But that wasn’t the most critical part. Qianyue Jian was the first combat genius he’d met since arriving in the True Realm who was proficient in a Fighting Skill similar to the Martial Dao. His various applications of techniques were a great source of inspiration for Zhou Yuanjue.

Powerful fighting techniques were just as applicable in the True Realm.

The path he had to walk from now on was one of integrating his various abilities with his body’s functions, allowing it to achieve a new level of metamorphosis.

His method of attack would also gradually return to the Martial Dao, the form most suited to the human body. It was an inevitable trend.

’Blood Moon Fighting Skill...’

Zhou Yuanjue muttered to himself.

’Looks like I should gather more Data on the Red Moon Civilization’s combat techniques,’ he thought. ’I’ll try to combine my innate abilities, the True Vein Seal Technique, and the Earth Martial Dao to create a new Fighting Skill.’

"That kid... he actually won..."

In the observation room, the Evil Dragon Life and the Sacred Lotus member stared at the light screen, where Zhou Yuanjue sat cross-legged in deep meditation. They both seemed a bit stunned.

As far as they were concerned, Qianyue Jian’s one-on-one combat strength should have easily placed him in the top three of this group of candidates. If he activated his Extreme Will, then no one aside from the heir of the Divine Profound Lineage should have been able to stand against him.

After all, for a Warrior from the Red Moon Civilization, the Scales Battlefield was their home turf.

But now, even after unleashing his Extreme Will, Qianyue Jian had still lost.

When it came to the "Immortal" ability, his opponent seemed even more terrifying.

"This kid has a chance to make it to the final battle. Do you think he could beat the kid from the Divine Profound Clan?" the Evil Dragon Life asked the Sacred Lotus member.

"It’s hard to say."

The Sacred Lotus member fell silent for a moment before shaking his head.

"Oh? You’re having doubts? I thought you’d be convinced the kid from the Divine Profound Lineage would win. After all, he’s a Descendant of the Divine Profound Lineage and has already achieved mastery in the ’Hundred Weapons Sacred Lotus.’ Without using Extreme Will, even Qianyue Jian would be hard-pressed to compare," the Evil Dragon Life said in surprise.

The candidates themselves had limited intel and an unclear picture, but as Observers, they had detailed Data on every candidate and had assessed their strengths long ago.

The top five were roughly equal in strength, but that was only because of their differing Energy Levels. If you standardized their Energy Levels, Qianyue Jian and Qingling·Divine Intent were undoubtedly the strongest in terms of individual combat power.

And if you compared the two of them, Qingling·Divine Intent was likely a cut above.

"I just have a feeling this guy can pull off something unexpected," the Sacred Lotus member said, shaking his head.

"Alright. In any case, they’re both from your Sacred Lotus Civilization. Looks like you’ll be the biggest beneficiaries of this batch," the Evil Dragon Life said, shaking its head.

"Let’s check on the other fights. What about those two kids from the Elemental Race? How are they doing?" the Sacred Lotus member asked.

"The kid from the Hurricane Clan got lucky; his opponent isn’t too strong. But the kid from the Tu Huo Race... her luck wasn’t nearly as good."

The Evil Dragon Life shook its head and glanced at a particular light screen.

The Sacred Lotus member’s gaze followed, landing on the scene of Anjina’s battle.

Anjina’s opponent was none other than "Ghost Seal" Bolaka, the one who had briefly clashed with her and Dorobaku on the island beach.

...

...

BOOM!!

The terrain of the entire Dream Realm battlefield had been almost completely transformed.

The sky was a brilliant crimson, its space seeming to warp from the scorching temperature. A massive ball of fire, like a second sun, hung in the air, constantly releasing immense Energy.

On the ground, the entire battlefield was covered in thick, crimson lava. Pillars of fire soared into the sky, and a blazing figure floated in mid-air.

Her fiery red hair danced in the air. Her figure was slender and graceful, surrounded by a nimbus of Rune Chains that made her look like a goddess.

Her gaze swept across the battlefield, but her expression was grim.

She had transformed everything into her own Domain, yet she still couldn’t pinpoint her opponent’s location.

Upon closer inspection, one could see that while the Runes swirling around her were beautiful, some of them were discordant.

Like some kind of virus, they constantly tried to burrow into her body, voraciously devouring and suppressing her Power. As time went on, this effect only grew stronger.

If she couldn’t find a trace of her opponent soon, she would be in serious trouble.

’Can’t find him? Then I’ll just destroy everything!’

Anjina gritted her teeth, fire flaring in her eyes. The crimson sphere in the sky, like a Scorching Sun, suddenly plummeted.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The sphere collided with the ground, creating a terrifying explosion. In that moment, she finally located Bolaka amidst the blast, but her expression only grew uglier.

The short figure walked slowly toward her from the center of the explosion. Behind him, five Ghost Seal orbs spun ceaselessly, warping the space around him. All attacks and Energy were sucked into a vortex, leaving him completely unscathed at the heart of the blast.

"I told you, it’s useless. You haven’t truly grasped your own ’nature.’ With such hollow attacks, you can’t break my Runes no matter how much Energy you have."

"This is as far as you go. I’ve lost interest in this fight."

Bolaka said flatly, slowly raising his hand.

The Ghost Seal orbs behind him continued to spin. He then fused four of the five Ghost Seals together.

...

...

DING!!

A notification sound suddenly chimed in Zhou Yuanjue’s mind as he sat meditating.

"The first round of matchmaking is complete. The second round will now begin. Please prepare."

The message from the True Talisman followed, entering Zhou Yuanjue’s mind.

’The next match is finally starting, huh?’

Zhou Yuanjue slowly rose to his feet, a hint of anticipation in his eyes.

’I wonder if this opponent will be on par with Qianyue Jian.’

WOOM!!

A pillar of light descended, enveloping his body.

The second battle had begun!
