Invincible Martial Artist from Foreseeing Opportunities
Chapter 125 - 94: Traces of Profound Fire, Facing the Scattering Tribulation
Xu Guang couldn’t help but doubt Yue Liuchuan’s words. Harboring these suspicions, he naturally held back his full strength. However, he hadn’t fought in a long time, and seeing the opponents before him, he couldn’t help but feel the familiar itch for a battle.
The Big Spear suddenly slashed through the air. Five types of Power wrapped around the shaft, displaying five distinct colors. The surrounding miasma burst apart, rippling outward in rings as the thrust headed straight for the silver-haired youth.
Anger surfaced on the silver-haired youth’s face. "Who exactly are you! When did my brothers and I ever provoke you?!"
With that, he drew a Treasure Sword from his waist. The blue blade gleamed with a faint, eerie light. He leaped from the ground, viciously stabbing his Long Sword directly into the tip of the spear.
CLANG!
The tips of the two Weapons collided and slipped past each other. The Treasure Sword in the silver-haired youth’s hand continued its stubborn thrust toward Xu Guang.
The Big Spear was too long; it was too late to pull it back for another thrust. But Xu Guang was intimately familiar with his weapon. Applying lateral force, he instantly turned the Big Spear into a staff and swept it horizontally.
BANG!
The youth managed to turn his blade flat to block the sweep, but the overwhelming force carried by the spear shaft forced him several steps back before he could steady himself.
A bizarre streak of black light darted into the silver-haired youth’s chest, burrowing into his body like a snake. Xu Guang closed the distance with lightning speed, moving like a phantom. He spun the Big Spear in the air, gripped it by the middle, and thrust it at the silver-haired youth’s forehead in a split second. At the same time, he let out a low shout.
The Soul Summoning Bloodline forced the silver-haired youth to instinctively freeze for a moment.
WHOOSH!
The silver-haired youth’s expression changed drastically. The blue Long Sword in his hand glowed like shimmering water. Under Xu Guang’s slightly shocked gaze, he triggered a violent fluctuation in the air. Like a vacuum pump, the youth instantly sucked all the surrounding air into his stomach. His entire body began to inflate like a balloon. In the blink of an eye, he became nearly as wide as he was tall.
The next moment, the spear tip arrived!
THUD!
An incredibly bizarre sensation emerged. The Long Spear pierced the youth’s body and sank in. Strangely, there was no blood at the wound; it felt as if the spear had stabbed into solid rubber.
"Go!" the silver-haired youth said in a muffled voice. Then, he opened his mouth wide at Xu Guang.
Sensing something was wrong, Xu Guang prepared to press his advance.
WHOOSH!
A Level Eight gale suddenly blew right at his face. Simultaneously, the silver-haired youth’s companions pulled packets of a lime-like powder from their robes and threw it at Xu Guang. The powder mixed with the miasma, making the air feel viscous. Combined with the fierce winds, Xu Guang found himself struggling to even take a single step. He could only watch helplessly as the six of them fled into the distance.
"We aren’t the righteous thieves you’re looking for! Someone is impersonating us!" the chubby boy among the six shouted back before they disappeared without looking back.
After retreating a full several hundred steps, the gale finally stopped, and the viscous feeling in the air slowly dissipated. The Cloud Serpent slithered down from a tree and landed on Xu Guang’s arm. It then bit down on him, sucking his Essence Blood while simultaneously absorbing the toxins from the youths’ powder.
Xu Guang narrowed his eyes. He hadn’t fought with lethal intent just now. For some reason, he felt that these six youths were not the wicked criminals Yue Liuchuan had made them out to be. At the very least, the grief, indignation, and grievance in the silver-haired youth’s eyes during their fight hadn’t seemed faked. Furthermore, the powder they had scattered at the end wasn’t poison—it was merely a Sedative. Otherwise, if he had commanded the Cloud Serpent to launch a sneak attack earlier, the silver-haired youth would undoubtedly be dead.
He thought, "Maybe it really is a misunderstanding..."
Xu Guang looked at the Big Spear in his hand, pondering that he needed to put the Cultivation of a second Weapon on his agenda. He turned around, lifted his spear, and headed out of the valley.
To his surprise, just as he walked out of the valley entrance, cold glints of light suddenly flashed toward him. Dozens of small, delicate Darts shot straight at his face through the air.
Xu Guang’s expression turned slightly cold. He swung his Big Spear, his sleeves violently fluttering.
CLINK CLINK CLANG!
A flurry of metallic impacts rang out. The small, exquisitely crafted Darts scattered across the ground. A faint green light gleamed on their surfaces.
The Darts were poisoned! These people wanted his life.
Xu Guang instantly flew into a rage. Ever since arriving in Yuan City, he had lived a disciplined life, never provoking anyone. Even when he was short on Essence Blood, he had done his utmost to restrain himself. Why did he keep running into these kinds of troubles?
Looking in the direction the Darts had come from, he wound up his arm and hurled the four-meter-long Big Spear forward like a javelin. The air was torn apart, and the surrounding vegetation bent over. The tyrannical airflow even rippled through the air in concentric circles.
SWISH!
The Big Spear roared through the air.
The next moment, a masked man in black leaped high from the bushes. Before he could find a foothold, he saw Xu Guang charging at him in the blink of an eye, like a fierce tiger.
The masked man’s expression changed drastically. Being in mid-air, he had no choice but to hastily brace himself against Xu Guang’s assault. His hands continuously flipped through the air, forming a wondrous Palm Seal. Power circulated between his palms.
"Sir, it’s a misunderstanding!"
"Misunderstanding my ass!" Xu Guang arrived in a blind rage. The surfaces of his fists turned black, raining down in an endless barrage.
BANG BANG BANG!
Under the continuous bombardment, the Power-formed seals on the masked man’s palms were shattered to pieces, and the remaining punches rained down heavily on his chest.
THUD!
Both men landed on the ground at almost the same time. Xu Guang ruthlessly stomped his foot onto the man in black’s chest, making him cough up blood.
"You! Pfft—"
"Why are you trying to kill me?!"
Hearing this, the man in black spat out another mouthful of blood and said with extreme grievance, "You aren’t the one I was trying to kill! It really is a misunderstanding!"
Xu Guang’s expression remained icy. "Then who were you trying to kill!"
"The righteous thief, Lin Xiu! He has committed countless crimes. I am ridding the people of a—"
