Invincible Soul Emperor
Chapter 1017: Don’t Even Think About Succeeding
“This old geezer is actually quite resilient.” Ye Qingchen secretly sighed in his heart, a trace of surprise flashing in his eyes, but it quickly transformed into calmer contemplation.
The situation before him was indeed more troublesome than expected, however, it hadn’t disrupted his plans. After all, although Old Liu’s spiritual power was still in operation, the strength he could exert was limited, and Ye Qingchen wasn’t wholly unprepared.
Despite the change in circumstances, Ye Qingchen remained confident.
A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips, as if he was fully aware of the situation, showing no signs of panic.
Ye Qingchen had already estimated Old Liu’s strength, yet at this moment, he knew even clearer that Old Liu had been poisoned, and the energy within his body was gradually dissipating.
Ye Qingchen and Xiao Xiao still held the upper hand, and the odds remained in their favor.
“Old Liu, you’re indeed more challenging than I imagined.” Ye Qingchen’s voice remained steady, even light-hearted. He squinted slightly, seemingly examining Old Liu’s condition carefully.
Seeing the subtle signs of weakness emerging on Old Liu, Ye Qingchen was even more certain of his judgment.
Ye Qingchen slowly raised his hand, signaling Xiao Xiao to remain calm.
He understood well that now was a critical moment and he couldn’t let the opponent’s bluff disrupt his rhythm.
Calculating various countermeasures in his mind, he was prepared to retaliate at any time.
No matter how much Old Liu struggled, he couldn’t escape from Ye Qingchen’s grasp.
“However, regardless of how you struggle, the outcome will not change.” Ye Qingchen continued, with confidence and composure in his tone, “The toxins in your body are eroding your spiritual power. Before long, you’ll completely lose your combat ability. By then, no matter how strong you are, you’ll end up at our mercy.”
Ye Qingchen’s words felt like a cold splash of water on Old Liu’s heart, causing his previously high spirits to slightly falter. Deep down, Old Liu was anxious, feeling his spiritual power’s flow becoming sluggish, as if countless needles were piercing his meridians, an unbearable pain.
This sensation sent a chill through him, realizing he had indeed been inflicted with an unusual poison.
Ye Qingchen, seeing this, had an even deeper smile.
His confidence wasn’t baseless; it was built on accurate situational analysis.
Old Liu’s struggle was just a final flourish, bound to be crushed eventually.
Ye Qingchen remained composed, having a complete response plan ready to deliver a deadly blow to Old Liu at any moment.
Old Liu’s anger reached its peak, roaring like an enraged beast, clenching his fists as the remaining powerful pressure erupted from within. His eyes widened, filled with defiance and anger, muscles bulging beneath his clothes, seemingly ready to tear open. Despite the toxins eroding his spiritual power, he refused to wait and decided to fight Ye Qingchen with all his might.
“You won’t succeed!” Old Liu roared furiously, charging at Ye Qingchen like a giant bear, fist winds creating a strong current, rushing straight towards Ye Qingchen’s face.
This strike carried all of Old Liu’s angry power, his fist burning with dark red spiritual power flames, distorting and vibrating the surrounding air impressively.
Ye Qingchen’s expression darkened seeing this, quickly dodging to the side, but Old Liu was fast, his fist brushed past Ye Qingchen’s shoulder, smashing down, cracking the ground instantly.
Although the punch didn’t hit, the stirred air waves still left Ye Qingchen feeling a sense of oppression.
“Xiao Xiao, retreat, keep an eye on Da Hei!” Ye Qingchen instructed in a low voice, Xiao Xiao quickly responded, swiftly retreating to the side, eyes fixed on Da Hei in the pigsty, preventing him from escaping amidst the chaos.
Ye Qingchen steadied himself without a hint of panic in his eyes. He quickly adjusted his breathing, gathered the spiritual power within, and formed complex seal formulas with both hands; instant flow of spiritual power, faint traces of golden light flickering in the air.
A sharp Sword Qi sliced out from his fingertips, directly facing Old Liu’s second punch.
“Go!” Ye Qingchen coldly shouted, the Sword Qi like a bolt of lightning, dashing straight at Old Liu’s face.
Old Liu’s punch struck out, spiritual power clashing with Sword Qi, producing a booming crash, generating intense wave dispersion.
Old Liu was pushed back a few steps by this force, the ground beneath his feet cracking again, chest churning with Qi and blood.
Old Liu’s complexion turned ashen, clearly feeling the rapid depletion of the energy within him.
He roared furiously, assembling spiritual power, his fists hammering continuously at Ye Qingchen, each punch carrying an air-splitting whistle, mixed with desperate madness.
Ye Qingchen remained unperturbed, using movement technique’s agility, deftly dodging Old Liu’s fierce assaults, sometimes as light as the wind, sometimes as fast as lightning.
Old Liu’s fists continuously brushed close to Ye Qingchen’s figure, but could never hit the target.
With each miss, Old Liu’s anger mounted, his spiritual power consuming even faster, and his movements gradually slowed.
Just as Old Liu swung a powerful punch, Ye Qingchen seized an opening, a gleam in his eyes, raising his left hand, slicing a golden Spiritual Sword Beam at Old Liu’s wrist.
Old Liu barely managed to raise his hand to block, yet unexpectedly Ye Qingchen’s right hand had long gathered a powerful Spiritual Palm Imprint, slamming hard towards his chest.
As Ye Qingchen’s Palm Imprint was about to hit Old Liu’s chest, a hint of grimness flashed in Old Liu’s eyes.
He suddenly pulled out a dark red Elixir from his chest pocket, swallowing it without hesitation.
The Elixir’s surface gleaming smooth as jade, faint black-red glow exuding, seemingly carrying a sinister power.
The Elixir melted in his mouth, instantly exploding with surging energy in Old Liu’s body.
Ye Qingchen’s Palm Imprint crashed down but was blocked by Old Liu’s swiftly conjured Spiritual Power Shield, reverberating spiritual power waves in the air.
Old Liu’s originally pale face instantly resumed a rosy hue, even showing a hint of flush, blood-red eyes, his aura abruptly surged.
The spiritual energy around him erupted like a storm, muscles bulging again, clothes tightly strained.
His aura ascending to an incredible realm, leaping from mid-peak Martial Emperor Realm to initial level Martial Sovereign Realm.
“You two… are asking for death!” Old Liu’s voice roared like thunder, madness and ferocity gleaming in his eyes.
Spiritual power frantically surged within him, imposing pressure spread out once more, surrounding air seeming twisted by his spiritual energy shock.
An aura of dark red enveloped his body, akin to bloody armor, permeated with a tyrannical atmosphere.
This Elixir, named “Blood Fury Pill,” was a forbidden medicine clandestinely made by the Chen Family, capable of dramatically enhancing the user’s combat power in a short time, albeit with terrifying side effects.
