Chapter 1034: Chapter 1034: Can’t Leave

Qin Yue took a deep breath, trying hard to suppress the turmoil in her heart, and gently nodded: "Thank you, Qingchen. I knew you would come."

Ye Qingchen looked at her, feeling extremely conflicted in his heart. He knew it was not the time for words; rescuing her was the priority.

So, he quickly buried his emotions deep within and said solemnly, "Qin Yue, we need to leave here quickly. Can you walk?"

Qin Yue did not immediately answer Ye Qingchen’s question about whether she could leave. Instead, she frowned, her gaze revealing obvious worry.

She softly asked, "How is Jiang Qi now? Has he... has he already found out that you’re here?"

Ye Qingchen furrowed his brow slightly, sighed lightly, and then shook his head, saying, "I haven’t found the opportunity to act against him yet. He doesn’t know I’m already in the palace city, nor does he know I’ve come to find you. But we have to leave quickly; we can’t delay anymore."

Hearing Ye Qingchen’s words, Qin Yue’s face became even more grave. She lowered her head, remained silent for a moment, then resolutely shook her head, her eyes showing a glint of determined power.

She raised her head and looked directly into Ye Qingchen’s eyes, her tone unwavering with determination: "Qingchen, I can’t leave. If Jiang Qi is still doing well now, then I can’t leave here."

Ye Qingchen was startled for a moment, looking at Qin Yue somewhat confused: "Why can’t you leave? You’re too dangerous here and could be discovered by him at any moment. Isn’t it better if we leave now and wait for a chance to strike back?"

Qin Yue’s gaze remained firm. She took a deep breath, her voice low yet full of stubbornness: "Qingchen, you don’t understand Jiang Qi. He has placed a demonic aura on me, and I can feel its existence. If I leave now, he’ll definitely notice and track me through this demonic aura. By then, not only will I be unable to escape, but you’ll also be implicated."

When Ye Qingchen heard this, his heart trembled, and his brows furrowed tightly. He knew Qin Yue wouldn’t say these things without reason, and indeed Jiang Qi might resort to such a tactic.

He stared into Qin Yue’s eyes, filled with worry and complex emotions in his heart: "But staying here, you’re more dangerous. He might act against you at any time. Aren’t you afraid?"

A trace of pain flashed in Qin Yue’s eyes, but she still shook her head firmly: "Qingchen, of course I’m afraid, but I can’t let you take this risk. Jiang Qi is too powerful; if we leave rashly, who knows what the consequences will be. Rather than that, I might as well stay and stabilize him for now, preventing him from discovering your presence."

Ye Qingchen’s heart was agitated, almost blurting out to persuade her to reconsider, but Qin Yue’s resolve made him realize she had long made this decision.

Her eyes showed no sign of wavering, it was a determination willing to sacrifice herself to protect him.

"Qin Yue..." Ye Qingchen’s voice choked, yet he didn’t know what to say.

He felt deep helplessness and guilt, unable to refute her decision yet unwilling to let her continue to risk herself.

Qin Yue looked at Ye Qingchen, her eyes showing a gentle glow. She lightly held Ye Qingchen’s hand, her voice weak but carrying an unyielding will: "Qingchen, I’ll be here waiting for you. I know you’ll come to find me again. I’ll find a way to delay, so Jiang Qi doesn’t act against me. By then, we’ll find a way to deal with him together."

Ye Qingchen looked at Qin Yue, his heart filled with mixed emotions. Finally, he could only take a deep breath, hold her hand tightly, his eyes full of determination: "I promise you, I will surely come back to save you. But you must protect yourself, don’t let him harm you."

Qin Yue smiled faintly, nodding her head: "Don’t worry, I’ll be careful. We will surely meet again."

Ye Qingchen looked deeply at her, as if he wanted to carve this moment into his heart forever.

Then, he slowly let go of Qin Yue’s hand, turned around, and left the side hall, but secretly vowed in his heart that no matter what, he would surely come back to save her.

Outside the palace city, Chen Rui stood by the carriage, occasionally glancing at the palace city gate, looking very restless.

His foot kept kicking small stones on the ground, muttering under his breath: "Why hasn’t Da Hei come out yet? Even going to the toilet can take this long, really dawdling around, it’s really infuriating."

His heart was full of anxiety, cursing under his breath: "Should have known not to bring him, he’s wasted so much of my time, if the Saint Heir has something to discuss with me later, I’ll have to wait for him, really delaying things!"

He turned his back kicking stones restlessly, pacing impatiently, his fingers tapping on the sword at his waist, evidently becoming more and more agitated.

Just then, Chen Rui saw Ye Qingchen slowly emerging from the palace city gate from a distance. He immediately stopped pacing, his brows slightly relaxing, but he couldn’t stop himself from feeling displeased, thinking, "Finally willing to come out, wonder what took him so long."

Ye Qingchen came out the gate, seeing Chen Rui standing outside with obvious impatience. He instantly adopted a guilty expression, quickly walked over to Chen Rui, slightly bowed, his tone respectful yet filled with some guilt: "My lord, I’m really sorry, I might have eaten something bad earlier, my stomach was a bit upset, so I got delayed."

Seeing Ye Qingchen’s respectful attitude, Chen Rui’s anger slightly subsided, although his discontent was not completely gone. He furrowed his brow, speaking somewhat stiffly: "You sure know how to find excuses, always dawdling around, really making people wait anxiously."

Ye Qingchen quickly bowed his head, his apologies even more apparent on his face, his tone carefully cautious: "My lord is right, it’s my fault, I wasted your time. I’ll make sure to pay attention in the future and not let you wait again."

Chen Rui snorted, still somewhat displeased, but seeing Ye Qingchen being respectful and remorseful, he couldn’t say much more.

After all, Da Hei had always appeared loyal in front of him, and now hadn’t committed a big mistake, just delayed a bit due to stomach discomfort.

"Forget it, forget it, let’s hurry up and leave, stop wasting time here." Chen Rui waved his hand to signal Ye Qingchen to follow, then turned impatiently to walk towards the distance, mumbling as he went: "Really a waste of time, from now on don’t eat those strange things to avoid such mishaps again."

Ye Qingchen listened to Chen Rui’s words, secretly let out a slight sigh of relief, maintained a respectful expression on his face, silently following behind Chen Rui as they walked.

A fleeting coldness flashed in his eyes, quickly concealed beneath his obedient exterior.

Although the earlier risk left him tense, he had now hidden all his emotions well, so nothing seemed amiss on the surface.
