Invincible Starting From the Nine Dragons Technique

Chapter 440: Forced Misunderstanding

  • Next Chapter

One or two Enlightenment Stones—this was already the biggest concession Su Mo was willing to make.

All he needed was enough to make his breakthrough.

Once he became more powerful, would he still have to worry about finding Enlightenment Stones?

However…

Patriarch Zhao and Patriarch Lan still wore troubled expressions, hesitating to agree.

‘Why aren’t they saying anything? Are their ears plugged? Cat got their tongue?’

Su Mo urged, “Hey, say something, will you?”

SIGH…

Patriarch Lan shook his head and sighed. “It’s not that we won’t agree. We truly can’t find any Enlightenment Stones. It would be useless even if you killed us.”

“No way. With so many of your families, you can’t find even one or two?”

Su Mo was speechless.

Whether it was the Zhao Family, the Lan Family, or even the Liang and Yu Families, they were all clans that had existed for tens of thousands of years.

‘After all these years, they couldn’t have managed to save even one Enlightenment Stone?’

‘Even a scrap would have been fine.’

Seeing the disappointment on Su Mo’s face, Patriarch Lan, Patriarch Zhao, and the others couldn’t help but smile wryly.

They had originally wanted to latch onto Su Mo’s powerful coattails.

The opportunity had been given to them, but they couldn’t grasp it.

Patriarch Zhao said, “Young Master Su, although we don’t have any Enlightenment Stones, we can compensate you with other treasures.”

“My Lan Family has a thirty-thousand-year-old Profound Ice Flower we are willing to offer to Young Master Su.”

“My Yu Family has a Primordial Magnet Mountain we are willing to offer to Young Master Su.”

“My Liang Family has a Ninth-Grade True Soul Pill we are willing to offer to Young Master Su.”

“My Zhao Family…”

One by one, they all offered up their treasures.

Some families even brought out their heirlooms to offer to Su Mo, showing their sincerity.

But Su Mo refused, saying, “I’m not here to rob you. What would I do with your family heirlooms?”

He knew they wanted to latch onto his coattails.

But he didn’t take advantage of their predicament to accept their treasures; that would make him no different from a bandit.

Other than Enlightenment Stones, no other treasures were of any use to him.

Su Mo compromised, “Alright, since you can’t find any Enlightenment Stones, then introduce me to the Sect Leader of the Meteor Sect.”

This was the least he could ask for.

Patriarch Zhao stood up and said, “That’s easy enough. If the few of us go to the Meteor Sect together, even their Sect Leader will have to show us some courtesy.”

“Let’s go now!”

said Patriarch Lan.

Su Mo said politely, “Then I’ll have to trouble you all.”

Soon, Su Mo followed the patriarchs to the Meteor Sect.

The Meteor Sect was enormous.

It was larger than any sect or family he had ever seen. It even possessed a Saint-level Earth Vein, making the Spiritual Qi so abundant that the place resembled an Immortal Realm.

‘Worthy of being called a Sacred Land.’

Su Mo muttered, “If I were to plunder this and take it back, I bet the strength of our Qingyang City would increase by a huge margin.”

“Plunder a Sacred Land?”

Patriarch Zhao, Patriarch Lan, and the others were shocked by Su Mo’s insane idea.

Su Mo chuckled. “I’m just kidding. Don’t take it seriously.”

The patriarchs were speechless.

‘Is that the kind of joke you can just make lightly?’

‘What if the Meteor Sect misunderstands?’

After all, the Meteor Sect had eight Semi-Saints, each of whom was incredibly powerful, far surpassing the likes of the Celestial Envy Old Monster and Li Yuandao.

The Celestial Envy Old Monster and Li Yuandao had only barely managed to rival Semi-Saints by relying on external power.

The eight Semi-Saints of the Meteor Sect were the real deal, each one famous for ages and possessing immense strength.

As early as ten years ago, they had joined forces to slay a Saint.

Patriarch Zhao said, “Patriarch Yu, you are the most familiar with the Meteor Sect. You should be the one to announce our visit at the gate.”

“Alright!”

Yu Tie ran eagerly toward the Meteor Sect’s main gate.

This was a great opportunity to be of service to Su Mo. He had to perform well and secure his place by latching onto Su Mo’s coattails.

“I, Yu Tie, have come here to…”

Yu Tie shouted toward the gate of the Meteor Sect.

But before he could finish, a thunderous shout came from within the gate: “Get lost! The Meteor Sect is closed and not receiving any visitors.”

“What?”

Yu Tie’s face darkened.

He had thought his relationship with the Meteor Sect was good enough that they would surely open the gate for him, but he was unexpectedly rejected.

And on top of that, they had told him to get lost.

Yu Tie suppressed his anger and adopted a humble tone. “Your Excellency, could you please ask Elder Duan to come out? I have an urgent matter to discuss with him.”

“Elder Duan is in seclusion! He has no time to see you!”

The voice from within the gate said coldly, “If you still don’t understand plain language, don’t blame the Meteor Sect for being discourteous.”

“This…”

Yu Tie was completely out of options. He said helplessly, “Young Master Su, the Meteor Sect is closed. I’m afraid you won’t be able to see their Sect Leader today.”

Patriarch Zhao said, “Then let’s come back tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow?”

Su Mo shook his head. “No need for all that trouble. I just want to ask if the Meteor Sect has any Enlightenment Stones. Come on, follow me in.”

With that, Su Mo swaggered toward the Meteor Sect.

Patriarch Zhao, Patriarch Lan, and the others were all stunned.

‘Force his way through the gates?’

‘That doesn’t seem like a good idea.’

But while they hesitated, Su Mo had already walked through the Meteor Sect’s gates.

Seeing this, the patriarchs could only brace themselves and follow.

“Insolent!”

The moment Su Mo stepped through the Meteor Sect’s gates, over a hundred disciples appeared before him, shouting angrily, “Brat, you dare force your way into the Meteor Sect?”

“Bring out your Sect Leader!”

Su Mo said indifferently.

The lead disciple said furiously, “You think someone like you can see our Sect Leader? In your dreams! Men, throw him out.”

“Yes, sir!”

The hundred-plus disciples immediately moved to surround Su Mo.

But before they could make a move, Yu Tie stepped in front of Su Mo and said, “Are you blind? Don’t you recognize Young Master Su?”

“Patriarch Yu!”

The Meteor Sect disciples were all startled.

However, the lead disciple was relentless. “Patriarch Yu, as a resident of Meteor City, you live under the protection of our Meteor Sect. Are you planning to conspire with an outsider to rebel?”

“I have no desire to rebel, but I must bring Young Master Su to your Sect Leader today. You had best get out of my way,” Yu Tie said coldly.

“Don’t even think about it!”

the lead disciple said firmly.

Yu Tie’s eyes narrowed. Then, steeling his resolve, he said, “You forced my hand. Don’t blame me for being discourteous to your Meteor Sect.”

WHOOSH!

Yu Tie suddenly swung his sleeve, which shot out like a long dragon.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Within a second, all the Meteor Sect disciples were sent flying, left lying on the ground, wailing in agony.

Yu Tie said politely, “Young Master Su, if you please.”

“Good.”

Su Mo stepped into the Meteor Sect.

But at that very moment, a white-haired elder appeared before them, followed by several Martial Emperors and over a hundred Martial Venerables.

“Zheng Qiushan.”

Yu Tie exclaimed subconsciously.

Su Mo asked, “Could he be the Sect Leader of the Meteor Sect?”

Yu Tie shook his head. “He is the Ninth Elder of the Meteor Sect. His strength is above mine, second only to the eight Semi-Saints and the Eighth Elder, Duan Wuya.”

Hearing this, Su Mo couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed.

He had wanted to see the Sect Leader of the Meteor Sect.

However, this man was not him.

Zheng Qiushan’s icy gaze swept over Su Mo and the others before landing on Yu Tie. He said in a frigid voice, “Surnamed Yu, are you trying to stage a coup?”

“A misunderstanding!”

Yu Tie tried to explain.

Zheng Qiushan interrupted him. “Hmph. You brought people to force your way into my Meteor Sect, and you call this a misunderstanding? Fine. Then this Elder will have a good ‘misunderstanding’ with you today.”
