Chapter 76 Increased Understanding
Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Increased Understanding
Early morning.
Feng Yin, having barely slept, dragged himself out of bed early. He found it somewhat amusing; he could sleep soundly in the treacherous environment of Sin City, yet tossed and turned all night simply because this hotel was too comfortable and peaceful. It was just like his first few nights when he had initially arrived in Sin City.
After a quick wash, Feng Yin began practicing his swordsmanship in the spacious room, strictly following the habit he had formed over recent days. He still used the few basic routines of Jiao Swordsmanship as a warm-up. As for the Dragon Transformation Breathing Technique, he had reached a level where he could nearly maintain it constantly while walking, sitting, or lying down. If it weren’t for the difficulty of controlling his breath while asleep, he could have kept it active around the clock.
This special Breathing Technique could subtly and gradually temper his physique. Although its effects were minimal when not actively using Jiao Swordsmanship, the accumulation of such consistent persistence was nothing to sneeze at.
After completing several rounds of Jiao Swordsmanship, Feng Yin adjusted his breathing rhythm. About three seconds later, he successfully entered the Dragon Transformation State. Amidst the roaring sound of his heart beating rapidly like drumbeats, the skin on his bare upper body flushed blood-red, accompanied by numerous bulging veins. Then, he practiced Jiao Swordsmanship once more in his Dragon Transformation State.
Unlike his previously effortless Cultivation, he was forced to end the Dragon Transformation State after only half a minute. The next moment, copious amounts of sweat poured from his pores. Feng Yin slumped to the ground, feeling completely drained. He had to admit that activating Dragon Transformation placed an enormous burden on his body.
However, a smile graced his face.
The duration he could maintain the Dragon Transformation State as a Spirit Binder of Jiao Swordsmanship kept increasing. It had now reached half a minute, which was far better than when he first learned it and would collapse in exhaustion after just a dozen seconds.
According to his master, Xie Jingyuan, this growth Speed was unheard of, placing him in the most astonishing tier. He was not only an Innate Martial Artist but also a prodigy in Martial Arts. As long as he did not have any major flaws in his Spiritual Will in the future and could keep pace with his physical improvements, achieving the Instant Level was inevitable. Even reaching the Ultimate Level was not entirely impossible. He was completely maxed out in both foundational stats and growth potential.
After resting for a moment, Feng Yin stood up, found a bottle of Nutrient Liquid, and drank it. He casually turned on the TV, switching it to the morning news, and then turned away to take a shower.
His morning routine ended there. Both his master and his senior sister had warned him that practicing Martial Arts was a gradual, painstaking process where too much haste could lead to ruin. Although he was quite confident in his body, which was Enhanced by the Armor, pushing his Cultivation into slight "overdrive" was enough for now. With the Armor, his future was very long; there was no need to seek instant gratification by gambling on uncertain things.
The television continued to broadcast the morning news:
"Ousu and Soviet Countries recently exhibited the sixth-generation Single Soldier exoskeleton armor. Equipped with the latest generation of artificial simulated muscles and a supercomputing System, it claims to allow Combat Elites to gain close-combat abilities rivaling those of a Combat Expert upon wearing it...
"The World Medical Center announced that the number of documented patients with the special sleeping sickness has increased globally from 372 to 415 cases, with 33 cases currently existing in our country. The Central Medical Department is actively seeking a treatment plan...
"Gospel Technology officially declared that they have found suspected ruins of a Super Ancient Civilization deep in the Bailuo Desert, and will soon assemble a professional team to enter and investigate...
"Sigma Biotechnology Group announced that artificial womb technology has been put into use. They stated this technology will be fully compatible with gene adjustment techniques, capable of cultivating perfect humans...
"The Zero Point Consortium’s Death Madness Tower, constructed on Border Prison Island in Genroku Country, suffered a terrorist attack. Currently, no organization has claimed responsibility for the incident...
"Chen Jingzhong, at the helm of Xuan Guang Group, held a press conference expressing that he will initiate the production of the first generation of Xuan Guang Enhanced Clothing as soon as possible...
"The annual Nova Ranking Tournament will officially begin on the twentieth of next month..."
As the morning news played on, Feng Yin walked out of the bathroom, drying his hair with a towel. He silently analyzed the information he heard from the news, picking out what he deemed unusual or relevant to himself. Exoskeletons, sleeping sickness, the Super Ancient Civilization, artificial wombs, Enhanced Clothing... These peculiar subjects made Feng Yin realize even more profoundly that the geopolitical landscape and technology of this world were entirely different from Earth.
However, all of this was still too far removed from his current situation; it wasn’t his turn to worry about them just yet.
For now, there were three crucial priorities for him: grinding games to upgrade his Armor Strength, endlessly practicing Martial Arts to boost his personal power, and finally, meeting his master Xie Jingyuan’s expectations by participating in the Nova Ranking Tournament and challenging other dojos.
Amidst his thoughts, Feng Yin originally prepared to put on yesterday’s clothes, but noticed a tablet on the counter had lit up at some point, displaying a text message.
[Mr. Feng Yin, Ms. Chen Yu has prepared new clothes for you. They have been placed in the delivery robot outside your room door. You may retrieve them at any time.]
Feng Yin felt a warm sensation in his heart. He realized that despite Xiao Yu’s consistently quirky and mischievous demeanor, she was actually a quite thoughtful and detail-oriented person.
He walked over and opened the door, finding a square "robot" waiting silently by the entrance as expected. Sensing the door open, the storage robot immediately turned toward Feng Yin. Its belly compartment popped open, revealing several bags with simple logos inside.
Feng Yin brought the bags back into the room and put on the clothes. It was a set of lightweight casual wear. From the style and material alone, he could tell it definitely wasn’t cheap. Most importantly, it fit perfectly. He wondered if Xiao Yu had visually estimated his measurements.
Not long after his morning routine and shower, the phone in Feng Yin’s room rang. He picked it up and heard his senior sister, Xie Yanran’s voice on the line.
"Feng Yin, come to the hotel lobby. It’s time for us to head back to the Gangrou Sect."
Feng Yin replied with a smile, then hung up the phone.
Twenty minutes later, Feng Yin, Xie Yanran, and Hong Yuan arrived in a car at the other side of the Coastal City Center.
They stepped out and looked up to see a sci-fi-esque skyscraper hundreds of meters tall, piercing into the clouds. The massive electronic screens on its exterior walls displayed the words: Xuan Guang Group. Next to this towering Xuan Guang Group building stood a spacious and imposing five-story structure. The entrance featured four bold, flowing characters: Gangrou Sword Hall.
Beside these four massive characters was a line of smaller text: Xuan Guang Group Security Safeguard Center.
"Things have changed so much..." Xie Yanran muttered beside him, her expression carrying a hint of nostalgia. "Before I left, the Gangrou Sect’s Sword Hall was still operating out of a dilapidated little building in the suburbs... I can’t believe it’s right in the Coastal City Center now."
Hong Yuan patted her shoulder and sighed.
"Yanran! Hong Yuan! Feng Yin!" a crisp, bright girl’s voice called out from the entrance of the shorter building.
Feng Yin looked up to see Xiao Yu, dressed in a neat martial arts uniform, waving at them. Bathed in the sunlight, the smile on her fair and delicate face was radiantly bright.
