Island Survival: I Build a Moving Castle at Sea
Chapter 57: End of the Dungeon
Chapter 57: Chapter 57: End of the Dungeon
No need to ask Jiang Yuxing. He certainly had no objections.
Chuyi sat down by the lake. "I agree. After all, if the dungeon’s progress isn’t maxed out when it ends, all the seeds we used will be for nothing."
"The risk is yours, so the reward should be yours too. We’re not losing out either way."
Shi Zhile sealed the deal. "Then it’s settled."
She wasn’t about to give the opportunity to upgrade the shelter to anyone else.
Since she was the one taking the risk, she didn’t need to consult them on her decision.
She tapped on the nearest grid square.
[Planting Tip: Consume Plant Growth Liquid x1 and corn seeds x1 to plant on the selected Desert Island?]
"Yes!"
The resources were consumed, and the scene inside the grid square instantly changed.
In the desert, corn seedlings sprouted one after another. In the blink of an eye, they grew half as tall as a person. Just as the cobs began to form, pests appeared on the tender green leaves. As the bugs multiplied, green weeds sprouted from the ground.
As the corn ripened, the weeds didn’t recede—they grew even more plentiful.
The grid square filled with corn shrank, its green color looking out of place among the other squares.
Everything happened so fast it was like a dream. In the grid square, several players who had been eyeing it covetously were stunned.
Seeing the corn was fully ripe, they pounced on it to harvest, heedless of anything else.
Just then, another message popped up on the map.
[Crop is mature. Harvest?]
Shi Zhile was truly delighted. She hadn’t expected a one-click harvest option.
"Yes!"
As her voice fell, the corn cobs quickly vanished. The dry corn stalks were instantly pulverized, churned up, and buried in the yellow sand.
Meanwhile, the patch of weeds grew even more lush.
’So the crop stalks can nourish the weeds.’
[Obtained corn seeds x100. The corn seeds have been placed in your backpack... Backpack space insufficient. Seeds temporarily stored in the transfer station. Please collect within twelve hours. After twelve hours, the items will be automatically destroyed.]
She had enough seeds now. Shi Zhile took out all one hundred portions of seeds to make Growth Liquid.
Jiang Yuxing patted the deck chair and beckoned to Shi Zhile with a finger.
Shi Zhile walked over. He smiled and said, "I’ll make the Growth Liquid, you handle the planting. As for payment..."
He held up one finger. "One Summon Order."
"Deal!"
She didn’t have anywhere in particular she wanted to go, so giving the Summon Order to Jiang Yuxing was fine. At least this way, she could easily summon him when she needed help with the harvest.
She gave him the Summon Order directly.
The two split the work and got started.
Jiang Jing led Jiang Yu to one side to talk.
Chuyi was studying the plants by the Medicine Lake.
Wang Peng looked this way and that, then simply took out a large bucket to help Jiang Yuxing transport water from the Medicine Lake.
Shi Zhile cleared out the unlimited-capacity slot in her backpack to store the corn.
Plant and harvest, plant and harvest again...
With enough Growth Liquid and seeds, after the last plot of land was planted with corn, weeds quickly grew.
The small grid squares merged into one large piece, and the entire Desert Island was covered in green.
[Dungeon Tip: Dungeon Progress 98%. (If a spring rain were to fall now, we believe the progress bar would be maxed out instantly.)]
The expectant look on Wang Peng’s face vanished instantly. "Is it sick in the head?! You can manage the heavens and the earth, but you can’t control when you need to crap or fart. Does rain just fall on command?"
"Zhile, we’ve been busy for hours, and the sun is about to set. How about we get on our knees and pray for rain?"
Shi Zhile’s hand, which was reaching for her Wish Drifting Bottle, paused. She pressed her lips together and gave him a look that was hard to put into words.
’If praying for rain actually made it rain, so many people wouldn’t have died.’
Jiang Yuxing took out a large umbrella to cover himself, then pulled Shi Zhile under it with him.
"Old Wang, please, begin your performance."
Wang Peng scratched his head. "Me kneeling by myself isn’t very sincere, is it? Let’s all do it together."
Jiang Jing and the other two instantly became busy, looking at the sky, looking at the ground—looking anywhere but at Wang Peng.
Shi Zhile couldn’t help but laugh.
She silently recited, ’Today’s wish: A spring rain heavy enough for the weeds to grow wildly.’
The drifting bottle emptied. The sun was obscured by dark clouds, and thunder echoed over the island. Soon, a fine, chilling rain began to fall.
[World Announcement: Congratulations to player Contentment Brings Happiness for completing the Desert Island dungeon progress. Current Desert Island dungeon progress is 100%. The dungeon has ended.
There are seven hours of exploration time remaining in this dungeon. Within these seven hours, there will be no dangers in the dungeon aside from other players.
Players may choose to leave this dungeon at will.]
A long string of words, yet not a single one mentioned a reward.
Wang Peng ducked under Jiang Yuxing’s umbrella and let out three loud laughs. "See? I told you praying for rain works! Isn’t it raining now?"
"The system spouted a bunch of gibberish, but why did it keep its mouth shut about the rewards?"
"I don’t know!"
She also wanted to know where the rewards had gone.
She took out a deck chair under the umbrella, lay down, closed her eyes, and called out to the system in her mind, ’Where’s the reward for the dungeon progress?!’
[Rewards will be distributed shortly.]
’When is shortly?’
[Shortly is when the system distributes them!]
’You didn’t steal my supplies again, did you?’
[System entering hibernation...]
Whenever she brought up the past, the system would try to play dead. Shi Zhile was already used to it.
She cut it off directly. ’Don’t go into hibernation just yet. Last time, you said there were energy fluctuations coming from Jiang Yuxing. I’m very close to him now. Can you feel that energy?’
’The Wish System is low on energy. Since Jiang Yuxing has energy fluctuations, there’s nothing wrong with "borrowing" a little, right?’
The system, sensing Shi Zhile’s thoughts, had an epiphany.
’That’s right, why didn’t I ever think of stealing energy?!’
The system jubilantly began to steal the energy in secret, but the more it stole, the less energy it had itself. It hastily stopped.
[I’m... doomed... The other... party’s... Level... is too... high... high high high]
Shi Zhile nearly shot up in shock. ’His Level is so high it scared you into stuttering?’
’Someone with such a high Level won’t be able to detect that I have a system, will he?’
’I won’t get caught, right?’
Feeling a little guilty, she closed her eyes and played dead.
[Energy theft... failed. My body... feels... like... it’s been... hollowed out.]
For a moment, Shi Zhile felt a pang of pity. She suddenly understood the feeling of trying to steal the chicken but losing the rice for bait.
She opened her eyes and peeked furtively at Jiang Yuxing, only to be caught red-handed.
Jiang Yuxing gave her a meaningful smile, then leaned in slightly. "Having fun?"
"What’s fun? Abs? I haven’t touched them, so I wouldn’t know."
Shi Zhile was determined to play dumb.
’Who would admit to having something as ethereal and intangible as a system?!’
Jiang Yuxing choked, then glanced at Wang Peng, who had a gossipy look on his face.
Wang Peng chimed in with a grin. "Trading looks for supplies? I can do that, I’m willing! Top-ranked boss, look at me~"
Shi Zhile unceremoniously reached out a hand. "Let me have a feel and inspect the goods."
Wang Peng raised an eyebrow slightly, perfectly capturing the handsome look of a tough guy.
As long as he didn’t open his mouth, he was the quintessential tough-guy military protagonist from a novel—the kind with an eight-pack.
Seeing Shi Zhile’s hand about to make contact, Wang Peng ran off into the rain.
"Help, there’s a female pervert!"
Shi Zhile: "..."
She cursed her own arms for not being long enough.
She then looked toward Jiang Yuxing. With a blank expression, Jiang Yuxing folded up his deck chair, turned, and walked away.
